At least for me, there's no excitement because I see no reason to be excited. What makes the S8 any better/different than my S7? The phones look the same (as do most new phones) and I'm sure the features will be rather similar. Idc where the fingerprint reader will be, it will still have a fingerprint reader. My S7 runs fine, no issues and I'm happy with it. The only thing that would make me leave the S7 is if they found a way to fit a bigger battery into the package and upped the megapixels on the cameras to be significantly better quality than on the S7; which already has a great front and back camera.
Iphones and Samsung phones these days lack innovation, nobody's trying to do anything new, just perfecting what's already perfect or close to it. I was interested in the whole modular phone thing before it got killed off. Honestly, I would definitely go for an updated modern version of the sidekick. I loved the sidekick LX when it came out and rocked with that phone for quite some time. If they could make a phone like the LX that re-introduces that flip screen, with a nice keyboard and loaded with android features/camera? I'd be on it day one.
