G1 Owners Unite! The Official G1/Android Thread..News/Apps/Features All In Here

i downloaded app installer i think from tyhe market and when i run the file it says the app will replace another app...... when i press install it say blapk market couldn't be installed.i had mobento but i removed it same problem

1st question: Are you rooted?

2nd question: Do you have AndExplorer?

yes an yes

i'm running the newest super D
and astro

1.10.2 then...ight well 1st astro isnt all that to begin with. AndExplorer or SU file browser are better for those kind of needs, and its really kinda shitty for restoring backups. For backup tools use the latest Mybackup Pro, it Backs up EVERYTHING including paid apps and the marketplace links to go along with it...AND auto installs apps without you having to click on every single one.

Back on track...

1st rename the black market apk file to BlapkMarket, place it on the sdcard, goto terminal and do this

$ su [enter]
# mount -o rw,remount /system [enter]
# cp /sdcard/BlapkMarket.apk /system /apps/BlapkMarket.apk [enter]
# exit [enter]
$ exit

Then reboot, It should work after that

Big question for me is will it fit if I were to put the 3200Mah battery on my N1 & will it be strong enough to hold the phone up there without it wearing down over time.

I have a friend who just recently started working for phandroid.com and MAN does it feel good to have info on upcoming shit before it even hits the web

[UPDATE] Hey guys, we’ve reported on the new release date and naming information! Be sure to follow that link for the latest details. Also note that the staging site is now password protected. They’re onto us!

This is as good as it gets! It’s easy to dismiss all of the other evidence of the HTC Incredible’s existence up until this point, but something “incredible” has appeared out of nowhere today. An official staging site on the Verizon Wireless server is being used to set up a huge reveal for the HTC Incredible.

Currently, the site shows a pretty good promotional picture of the phone and a field that you can submit your email into for receiving updates about the phone. No release date yet, but a “coming soon” tag still gives us hope that a late April/Mid-May day could be on its way. There was also this piece of fine print:

Activation fee/line:$35 ($25 for secondary Family Shareplan lines w/2-yr Agmts).
IMPORTANT CONSUMER INFORMATION: Subject to Customer Agreement, Calling Plan & credit approval. Up to $175 early termination fee ($350 on Advanced Devices) & other charges.
Device capabilities: add’l charges & conditions apply. Offers & coverage, varying by service, not available everywhere. Some applications not available at this time.

By submitting the form, I agree that Verizon Wireless may contact me via email about the information I’ve selected above. I also agree that I am at least 13 years of age.

Other than that, the site is pretty bare, but there’s no denying it now: The Incredible is on its way and it’s coming to Big Red. I’m not particularly familiar with Verizon’s pricing across all their phones, but it looks like you will have to pay $35 on top of whatever the Incredible ends up costing to get it activated.

Everything else is pretty much a given. This is very exciting and I’m sure most of you who got put off by the fact that a Costco inventory system listed the Incredible with T-Mobile

as the vendor should be delighted to hear this. As usual, as soon as more flows in we’ll update you as soon as we can (that’s if our fingers don’t fall off).

Are you hyped yet?

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in from the Official HTC Incredible thread and forum user Zulucap over at our sister site, AndroidForums.com!]

[UPDATE]: If you look closely at the date on the picture of the phone, it says Wednesday, May 5th. Could we be seeing this thing early May? One can dream. We’ll keep this date in mind, though, until more concrete date information comes spiraling our way.

I didn't buy the battery but it does have a different back as the battery is much bigger. Seidio says it will still fit in the crades though.

HTC Droid Incredible

if T-Mo doesn't get one of these "superphones" any time soon, I may have to jump ship when the contract is up. I know I can get the N1 but it's already been surpassed by these new HTC devices. I'm hoping that the Desire drops on T-Mo when it hits the states, that's my last chance.

Thinking of rooting my N1 now. I just noticed that I'm getting very close to storage capacity on my phone with all the apps I have & might wanna get the app 2 install apps to the SD card instead. If it doesn't require rooting to be able to do that then somebody please let me know.

Aiight well time to look for the directions on how to root my phone & get that app cuz I have well over 14GB of free space on my SD card that can be used for apps.

Raining like hell outside and gonna be all day so have finally decided to ROOT MY MYTOUCH 3G. Looking thru this thread now and will report on progress

I wanna root my N1. Who has rooted theirs so far & is using Windows 7? I wanna make sure I'm using the best procedure with least chance of bricking the phone.

TMOBILE US users...we are not the UK so we wont be getting any new phones anytime soon

yea man.. and thats the shame. Im still with my G1 until something new comes out that catches my eye. Im just being patient right now and not buying off of impulse. My G1 is still ticking and serving its purpose.
