I havent tried the transparent. Don't think I will tho b/c the OS update from google start tomorrow until the end of the month and soon as i got it confirmed the 2.1 is being sent to droid's i gotta uninstall my 2.1 goodies anyways.

They just did that for show, Works just fine on my G1. And it gives you the option of it being your homescreen replacement[When you press home it will ask you if you want the Standard Homescreen or if you wanna make Slidescreen your default] or just an app.

Im keeping this as just a app for right now till more goodies pop up with it, but its still pretty dope

The developer of PDANet fucked up. Version 2.16 allows full access to HTTPS and secure sites...he used to block that unless you paid for the full version ($29). So don't upgrade to 2.17...he rushed that update out and it will probably block functionality again.

I've yet to have a problem with 3G on my G1 or any other problems and I'll be damned if I buy a new phone to start having problems...Besides, you know how tech goes, in 3-6 months the N1 will be dirt cheap or there will be something better coming out...I'm perfectly fine with my G1 on CM 4.2.13, although I am feeling ya'll on the lack of new things and is it just me or does anyone feel that since Cyan ported the new browser over that it's actually become slower than the 1.6 browser?

Im having an issue NOT receiving texts on the G1.. looking @ some of the app comments, it would leave me to believe it was handcent causing this BUT some others folks have said they have the same issue with the stock app.. I do too. I dont think this started happening until I rooted. Its like sometimes I get the notification, see the msg in my bar.. but no msg in the app. Other times I wont get a notification @ all. It doesnt happen ALL the time.. but it does happen pretty damn often.

Google Blames T-Mobile 3G Network For Nexus One 3G Issues

Earlier this morning a Google employee over at the Google Support Forums updated us on the Nexus One 3G issue that had been plaguing a good amount of Nexus One users. The Google employee claims that after some investigation in the matter, the 3G issue was apparently the cause of poor T-Mobile 3G coverage. But wait, its not entirely T-Mobile’s fault. The employee also states that there’s a software component that also is a key factor causing the 3G issues, and the company says that it’s already testing a fix. The Google employee says to expect an OTA (Over-the-Air Update) “in the next week or so.” What I still can’t understand is how T-Mobile’s 3G network is at fault here when other T-Mobile handsets (such as the G1) work perfectly fine in the same locations? Why is Google blaming our beloved Magenta for their mistakes? T-Mobile might not have the largest 3G network, but it definitely is more reliable that other 3G networks (ahem cough AT&T). peeped this out the other day, shitty thing about these lockscreen replacements is that when you flash a new ROM it tries to take over and puts you in a home freeze until you uninstall it before hand. But its a good app regardless. Thx for the post

Do it. You will not regret it one bit. I have no problems with 3g. For those who are having problems, they will push something out soon. I can't explain the difference between the mytouch and Nexus but it like night and day. No offense to anyone.

i've been having probs with my text on Cyanogen's later roms. It hasn't aggravated me enough 2 search through some 70 page thread on xda smh but it can piss me off. Basically all text messages come through, but I wont get an alert, my notification light wont blink and my text sound alert wont go off sometimes. I thought it was some type of complication from the interaction between handcent and the factory messaging system......and since I can't delete the factory message system, this problem is a btch. 1 text message gets me all these damn popups and shyt. I disabled message notification in messaging, etc....but a new notification still pops up in messaging and handcent. And then sometimes I don't get any new message alert. I try explaining to some of these chicks i didn't get their message until the morning, i rooted my phone and they don't know what the fk i'm talking bout and don't believe shyt.

I do believe if I just deleted handcent it would fix my problem, but i luv handcent. Some say it's not handcent but Cyanogen, i don't know.

i'm really gettn pissed, business has been going good, just got a bonus and I want 2 get the Nexus 1. I don't want to pay $530 then the price drops a week later. I don't want to buy it from google then tmo has it for sell a couple weeks later for a fraction of the price. I can get the phone for $179 if I add an additional line, but I don't want 2 fkn bills, Dro had gave me some good advice on the additional line thing but I haven't been able to verify it, Zei you or anybody know a way around me having 2 bills?

And regarding your last post, i'm really pissed if other carriers have this shyt for less and without all the problems, I want this phone, I can deal with the current 3g problems because my g1 is mostly on edge----its on edge because of unstable 3g coverage and my battery last 16 to 18 hours with only 2g on. Something has to give in the next week or 2, i might even switch to Sprint if their getting this new Android phone soon, i'm tired of waiting on tmo, then when they get a dope phone there's all these catches and shyt. Is google just using tmo as a guinea pig?

I quit using the Market text apps cause they was fucking up on me. Try SMS popup...ive never had a problem with it. Far as TMO being a guinea pig I think your right seeing as they started with android 1st why not let them have the 1st diggs. I dont know any other way around the 2 line deal...even with using google voice *sigh* I was even thinking about going over to verizon for a droid but since the other company's are gonna get a nexus id just wait start a new line of service with someone else. And Ive seen the new sprint phone with 4g WiMAX...im thinking of crossing back over.

Man 1.6 is getting played out and boring now. No new themes...shit from 2.0 is being ported over...cyan's ROMs are too bloated which is why the shit is so slow. The 10MB hacks hardly help anymore..and dude is making ROMs for nexus now.

No ROM is flawless but what version are you looking for? 1.6 or 2.0? You can d/l download google maps from the market place with a ROM the runs Apps2SD. I have the .apk file for CarHome from the droid if you want it?

i think xingular has dropped prices over the past week or so, but compared to other carriers it looks like tmo and sprint can save u from $50 to $70 a month for unlimited everything. That's a large gap, also, I was referring to if the Nexus is bought at full price/no contract---$530, u can have unlimited talk, data, and messaging for $79 plus tax, if the Nexus is bought under contract for that same $79 u only get 500 minutes.
