Well like somebody else said, Handcent sms seems to be the most popular. Now if you're looking to HIDE some shit from somebody, or stop calls and texts from coming through then i recommend Super Private Conversation! Its a password protected app...it blocks or hides calls and texts. you can also have "private conversations" meaning instead of your text thread showing up in ur regualr text app, it'll show up in Super Private Conversation instead. its very discrete....
You dont have Cyanogen Recovery 1.4 image installed 1st off. This will make the process alot easier than the method your using. 2nd you need to download the HTC 1.6 dev recovery image and flash it to unroot your phone and take it back to stock. All the info you/files/instructions can be found here...

Shyt, when I said I was gonna flash Cyanogen's latest rom a few days ago I was talkn about 4.2.5, I go to xda yesterday and see 4.2.6 and now ya'll are telln me there's an even newer fkn rom? shyt i don't know what to fkn do..................But, on the real, i've talked to a couple of cats on xda and viewed descriptions of many of the other popular non Cyanogen roms....and i'm sorry, too many of the roms have too much shyt that doesn't work (gps, bluetooth, camera, etc...). I talked to a dude running 2.0 on the g1 and several shyt doesn't work and it's sluggish. Some of the other roms like the droid 2.0, blur, and others are very tempting, but i'm not going to that shyt when several key features don't work. Cyanogen is the shyt and he has too many features that other Roms don't have. The reason many people fk with other roms is because they seem to come with some nice widgets and things. Using a car analogy, Cyanogen seems to care more about a cars performance and stability while other roms seem to care more about a cars appearance.
He's already done all of that...and usng the 1.6 isnt the proper step in rooting or unrooting the G1. Ive been helping him VIA PM, the problem with those instructions is that they dont tell you all proper steps to rooting the G1 now as I just yesterday had to unroot my old phone and root my new one. And it was a bitch to do so

I'm about to pick up my Sprint Hero tomorrow and want to put this on my phone. Can it be found on the Android Market or is there another spot where I can find it?

Also if you guys are looking for more protection for ya android, check around in the thread for a app called Android sherriff. Works like a car alarm for ya phone...ya girl tries to touch ya phone while u sleep…BAM…alarm sounds off and won't stop till u set the password

I need more proof that it is the HTC Passion and that it's coming to tmobile. My sister is with Verizon and she was gonna get the Droid but she heard the Passion was coming to Verizon in Jan. so she's been holding out. She has no proof its coming to Verizon just the usual internet blog rumors. She's in NY, I looked up the specs a month ago and knew this shyt wasn't coming to tmobile. But, if it is, i'm gettn it first day! Keep us posted on if the htc passion is the phone and which carrier is gettn it. Tmobile has a thing of fkn up a phones look, b4 the g1 came out they had a few different pics and specs of the phone they thought it would be, then like a month b4 it came out we got the official pic and we were very disappointed. So I hope we are gettn the HTC Passion with a fkn 4.3 INCH SCREEN
I have never had an all touch (no physical keyboard) phone, i feel i need my physical keyboard, but if this is coming to tmobile, i'll give it a try, i'm sure i'd get use to it. With a 4.3 inch screen that should give big fingers a little extra room to type.

Here's another site for free paid apps for your Android phone. This link is to the paid apps, currently has 14 pages of paid apps u can get for free. They also have several other pages dedicated to apps (free and paid),games, tutorials on how to root, install, etc... Not the best site for paid apps but definitely a good alternative and u don't have to sign up, respond to get links, or have to worry about redirects and popups.

like i said my sister been holdn out on gettn the Droid since she's heard Verizon is getn the HTC passion. After readn agent creeds link i was about to send her a text bragging about it coming to tmobile, well i'm gettn mixed signals in my google search. I'm gettn several sites sayn its coming to Verizon and i'm gettn some saying tmobile. So i'll delay sending her a text. But, I really hope tmobile gets this shyt. My current state with tmobile is Lebron James about to be a free agent and unless tmobile brings in a big time player (phone)that I want, i'm leaving. This is tmobiles chance to satisfy me to a certain degree. They have improved 3g in the past year, it's still no comparison to xingular and verizon, but it's got much better. I've been in and out of town for the past month and i've got some good 3g signals but the speed isn't as fast as my friends who have other carriers.

your sister will get a passion for verizon google is rumored to make this the gphone tmo will get it 1st followed by vzw based on network...
tmo is launching their 7.2 network through out 2010 and this device will supposedly be all data...verizon is launch lte in 2010 and that can handle all data too...at somepoint vzw and tmo will have the fastests networks with sprint right there so those 3 will be getting version of the passion...with att trailing heavily....
att isn't gettin a google experience device the x10 is a sony product with sony and att branding with its own app store(att wants to control the android app store since android has money saving apps att doesn't want its users to have)
but yeah the google phone will be carrier and non-carrier dependent from the rumors i'm waiting to see how it runs and if its solid i'll ditch vzw since i got in right before they raised the etf the gphone will have scrolling ads to support the phone but won't be tied to a carrier and supposedly will be just digustingly powerful...i hope it has a physical qwerty tho...

I would figure you would have to purchase a new SIM card for the old phone with the same number. Dont add GV to the new phone and just have ppl call that number. Far as the minutes are concerned...yes u may have 2 bills for voice but the SMS would be free

same way they controlled the gv apps. block 'em. other companies have portals in the market att wants the market to be in their portal. the gsm signals are att's and the phone costs 800 beans...i don't tmo has ever gotten a phone that expensive before. att has and i think like iphone they wanna charge the shit for it...i read sony phone's are super pricey with almost no subs or they end up breaking down early matter fact sony just recalled 2 touch screens last week i believe. wait before u get that x10...
nah no info on the hero 2 i just read htc will announce its successor feb 10 at some big mobile conference. my guess it will be snap dragon android 2.1 with a gig of internal mem with sense overlay.

THATS IT....now i don't even know if the rumors of the gphone on tmo in jan 2010 will be true b/c i see no passion in that list...
i wonder what motorola is gonna deliver but it seems like htc is gonna deliver the hotter phones to other companies...the other tmo's from htc look cheap...tho they finally have one in a blackberry form factor which could be appealing especially with the bbm like pmessenger being launched on android soon....
This is why i had to leave tmo....they go for budget phones even with the even more plan where u could buy an expensive phone and just pay it down monthy THEY still go for budget phones...i did read a rumor they r tryin to swipe the iphone from att and if that happens all the other good phones on tmo will lose...only verizon and sprint are strong enough to tell apple to go fuck themselves if they make demands...tmo might jump to number 2 but the service will crap out...

its stupid of tmo...not even dropping a G1 successor....shit is the g1 v2 was mentioned it just never arrived....some of these might not arrive either....
and they r focusing on touchscreens....I use the touch screen on my droid but I use the physical for emails and signing into stuff....only hope now I guess is Motorola(droid without keyboard?) or LG(I HATE LG phones)...the samsungs aren't exciting....or the gphone...

while I agree that tmo has been dropping the ball phone wise, I think they are setting themselves up for a breakout year. the gphone is going to be their flagship droid joint plus they are building out their network in a big way. hell I've been waiting for the G2 as long as anyone, and who knows, the passion/dragon is just a code name. when I hits they just might brand it the G2. it'll be interesting to see if they can finally step it up..................
