I have to agree with LD. Some of these responses are suspect.
Growing up I was considered dark skinned and all the light skinned girls got play and I used to feel slighted.
Now that I'm older I realize I'm not even as dark-skinned as I thought I was and would like to be.

I date women of all shades and races, but for some reason I could never see myself falling in love with any woman who wasn't black. Other than that though complexion isn't too important. What's more important is conversation, intelligence, physical attributes, and open mindedness. Of course there's also that all important look in the eyes too (if she's got that one where time stands still when you gaze across the room she'll probably be my next).

They seem to be more game to me compared to many darker skin females I'm interested in.

Initially i'm attracted to lightbrown/caramel/brownskin women with red (not olive) skintone...but almost every woman i've messed with say that I look like the type who messes with lightskin/spanish women.
I never limit myself to just complextion because there are so many other physical features on a woman that i'm attracted to, (from slanted eyes, full lips, thick nipples, a phat azz, nice size thighs for examples) that complextion becomes non-existant....with the exception of my cousin, every dude I know who settled down and got married ended up with a woman who's not even considered "their preference".

I find it dubious that NO man here has a skin color preference. Bull. You do, just like you have a booty size preference, just like you like hair a certain way. I have a preference. I cannot stand yellow, bright, light, whatever you want to call it, women. Not to say that they can't get it, but a brown-to-dark skinned sister will get it everytime. If you are caramel-colored or darker, I prefer you.
Why? Because in light-skinned women, the flaws show up more. Facial hair shadow, on the arms, any type of bumps, redness in the face, all that. Darker skin hides it well. Darker-skinned women tend to be the same color from nose to toes. Lighter-skinned women tend to have patches of color like a calico cat. Yellow women have all that Caucasian blood in them which gives them the semi-White woman hips which in turn tends to lower the odds of having that bubble that I like.
Have you ever seen a dark-skinned woman, glistening with the sweat of a marathon love-making session? Sexy. And probably the most important reason....attitude. It's not necessarily their fault, it's how people treat them and show them favoritism based on their skin (well, not the brothers in this thread

Sistas with a nice slim build with a nice chocolate completion will always catch my eyes first. Most of the women that I've dated have been dark and slim, but I don't discriminate against light skin or caramel completion women either. All shades of black women are beautiful. I love them all.

Me, I never had a complexion issue at all. Even though, I do have a lot of love for my dark skin sistas, however I like them all, whether they are dark, brown or light, as long as they are Black and beautiful, with book sense/common sense, and a nasty freak in the bedroom....Im cool.
