for all you college haters what do you do for a living?

You can read all the books you want nigga, but until you have that certification it doesnt mean shit. A degree is the proof that you read those fucking books!

Conspiracy theories are why blacks make it no where in this world. Everybody works for somebody fam.

If you work in the corporate world and you did it without proving yourself to these crackers, answer the OP's question and state what you do and how much you make homes.
I have a degree and my masters. My degree did not help me get anywhere but in debt to someone else. Getting a degree blindly with hopes of that sheet of paper changing ones life makes them a fool. Most of the things I learned in life I got off sites like BGOL and it only cost me time and $10. Rich people are wealthy because they understand how to play the system. Governments were created for the weak to survive. Without governments only the physically strong would survive.

Wealthy create power by tying individuals to debt. You are in debt to your employer because without money(credit) you can't survive. So you get up and spend 8 to 10 hours of your day creating wealth for someone else while you accumulate debt.

Like I said. Conspiracy theories are why blacks dont thrive in this country. What you're uttering is pure lunacy...

Getting a sheet of paper with your accomplishments listed on it does not change your life. The skills you learn do, and you have physical proof that you've obtained those skills.

I dont give a fuck what you do. Everybody works for someone. It is, what it is.

thanks for puttin me up on game...im gonna download as many vids as possible before they start charging a fee for all this

I got the management position 2yrs after being on the job. It took a little hustle but from what I've seen from people who have degrees not nearly as long. I have people working for me with degrees.

What industry you work in?

I have been out of the corporate world and started my own business. A degree is simply teaching you to work for someone else. College is another way for the government to keep you in debt and a slave to the system. You spend 5000 a semester just to have someone tell you to read a book. You can get the same book and information for far less. A person spends $40,000 with no guarantee of income after receiving a degree.

A degree helps you operate within the system created by rich CAC's. Rich CAC's created this system to insure people/slaves will continue to make them more money. Hard work ans drive is what makes a person successful and not a sheet of paper

I just went back to school this fall....I understand what Nathan is saying....

but what you're saying is the truth....

b/c the only way to make a good living is by having a college degree. you're such a brainwashed dumbass.

What do y'all think about Architecture degrees, opinion? I'm thinking about going back to school for sustainable architecture. That's not some shit you can "wing" altho I plan to teach myself as much as I can in advance.

Some degrees are general education and have little merit when it comes to earning a living.
A professional would need a degree plus experience to perform their job:
Dentist
Lawyer
Doctor
A professional can be a business owner, but a business owner can employ professionals.
America is the only country that downplays an education as if you are a fool to get an degree.

It's mad funny how it's so many balling brothas but the business board ain't even cracking like it should be.

Then muthfuckas come in here and shit on getting an education.

To sum it up:
1. College is a waste of money
2. Blacks should not go to college b/c you will by default become a slave for the white man
3. BGOL's elite are self educated and balling outta control making millions of dollars
3. Fuck college
4. Fuck black women that went to college b/c they are all driving old as cars and my shit is a (insert expensive car here)
5. Fuck college
6. Fuck college
7. I'm rich bitch

College ain't for everyone but if you got a degree you can go work one of the members of the bgol elite or don't go to college and become rich.

I know one BUSINESS that doesn't require a college degree--BUILDING WEBSITES FOR PROFIT. If any of you ninjas want me to start a thread to share the secrets of how to do this shit, drop me a PM. If enough ninjas would REALLY find this interesting and TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, I'll post a CASE STUDY from START to FINISH on BGOL along with traffic and income statistics.

You don't need a degree to make money online. You need things that a degree normally symbolizes--DILIGENCE, PATIENCE, FOCUS, and yes, motherfuckers, DISCIPLINE.

Drop me a PM if you want me to start a STEP BY STEP SEMINAR up in this motherfucker BGOL

A degree does not teach entrepreneurship

Why should it? Aside from taking a degree in business as you're suggesting, a degree is only a start, a headstart, to whatever. A foundation.

A college degree was never say all, end all for career pursuers. But nowadays, it means you can start a project and finish it

Never went to college. My parents were HOT! However, I wouldn't knock anyone with a degree. I just grew tired of a classroom setting in 6th grade. Plus, I got tired of being SPOT. Those who know will get that last joke.

May of next year will be my 10th year self-employed. I pay myself a salary of 40k. I'm in the poorest county in NC. That's actually considered upper middle class for a single person around here.

Some of the ignorance in here is beyond measure. Is college then end all? No, but is it to be dismissed? Hardly.

I have a BA and MS, and career wise I do ok Im a Middle School Guidance Counselor. No way getting around that by reading books on BGOL. This is the career I want. Now I own my own business as well that does alittle less then what the school board pays.

Its a delicate balance. School basically taught perseverance, and fortitude in some ways. Staying up late figuring out what had to be done and actually doing it stayed with me. Well I actually had that before I went to school. I just know lot of cats on here are fronting. Im sure there are some brothers and sisters on here that are killing it on the independent scene getting paper. Ive also helped a couple cats who did not have a degree on here whose budgets were tiny.

To each his own. I want my son to go to school, if for the experience alone, thats something you cant place a dollar amount on.

Peace

College is not for everyone. I see the argument both ways.

Personally, I am for college, but I am not going to say that it is the ONE and ONLY way in life to make it.

I have my BSc and Masters degree, and I love the career choice I made, and will not trade it in for anything. On the other hand, even though I have a degree, a good job, I stay constantly doing my own side hustle thing looking for ways to break free and be my own man.

To each their own.

them niggas ain't doing shit. I don't believe a word these weirdos are saying.

And notice no one has really answered the question lol

As for me, I am an assistant football coach. Making 110K, at the moment but it took a few years of earning peanuts as a graduate assistant. A degree isn't required but you do need to have experience with football at a high level so everyone has some form of college education. I've only worked with a few guys without degrees and those are guys who left school early during their college days to go pro

And before anyone asks why I don't pay the 10 bucks, it's not very smart for me to send in a check w/ my name in the position I'm in right now

This whole college argument is all about your ideology and thinking.

And you have to ask yourself, Are you a Buyer or a Seller

If you have a slave mentality, You are raised to go to school and try to find a good job and life ends right there. (aka Square Blacks)

If you have a Boss mentality, You are raised to go to school and start your own business and invest heavily in ownership (Whites, Asians, Jews, Arabs,etc..)

The Reason why alot Blacks are always on the bottom of the food chain, is because there taught to be slaves and be buyers. and not sellers.

What i am trying to tell blacks is that you cannot just be a buyer, But you have to be a seller also.

That's bullshit. Why do you for some reason really believe that even the majority of whites and others are raised to be owners? That's a lie and its proven statistically. Actually whites are steered towards "safe" professions that yield high pay and long term job security. To be honest the ones that are "owning" and created "new" money and business are the ones who have admittedly shunned their parents wishes and did their own thing (Mark Zuckerbug, Bill Gates, the Google dudes)..so what are you talking bout?

Your words don't do enough justice around here, most black people have a consumer mentality and not a producer one.

What Ive learned so far is, BGOL is a place where I can expect to learn nothing from the members. The nonsense spewed in this thread is deplorable. Im done in here. :smh:

a degree/education is a wonderful tool. To discount that is just being absurd.

Most of the highest earners are college educated. Most of the skilled people in the world are educated or have some measure of formal training.

And when I say educated I include those highly skilled trades such as auto mechanics.

Are there people who have become successful without degrees? Yes of course but they pale in comparison to those who do.

Kicker is this. You dont have to go to an expensive college. I think that is where the mistake is. Once the college has a decent reputation in the field that you want hurry up and attend.

Do you think the world was only built by harvard grads? Absolutely not.

Sure you can hustle but think how much better your hustle would be with formal education.

More Bullshit in this thread. Cats keep acting like only blacks are "brainwashed" into going to college to work for someone else...man please. And all this ownership shit....
People apparently dont realize that over half of "rich" people are rich because .....they were born. Do you dudes know how much money is actually "new"? not alot at all. And like I said in my reply to the other cat...who the fuck told yall Whites and others are taught to be leaders and blacks to be "workers"?:lol:

Whites, Asians are "safest" ones.. How many times have you heard a Doctor say "My dad was a doctor and his dad was a doctor"? Or a cop say "My dad was a cop and his dad was a cop."? They are raised to for "safe" professions with high job security and upper class income. Or shit how many times have you seen whites drop out or be become stressed they dont wanna be what "Their parents want them to be"?

Bottom line is cats keep kicking this "leader" shit, like everybody can be one..thats bullshit. In any group of a society or culture there will be those who stand out. The thing is we need to learn how to SUPPORT those leaders so the strength of THAT leader, can build more for the overall..

Example: Look at how the Kennedys, Hearsts, Rockefellers..have spread wealth for 200 years? Are their kids leaders because they are rich? Hell no, but the ORIGINAL leaders of those families were and the people supported them which created oppourtunities for many others in years to come...

And for the question,, Hell Yeah I went to college. Getting where I am required me doing alot for myself, but without my degree I wouldnt have gotten those oppourtunities to prove myself. Bottom line is college is like Marriage, its not for everybody...it helps some and is a waste of time to others...

I don't see a lot of posters commenting in here. You can tell who the Educated BGOL peers are. I rather be the person with a degree than a person who doesn't have a degree. You always want something you can fall back on. Yea you idiots say you're working for someone, but at the same time I have insurance, retirement , and a nice yearly income. I don't know to many brothers or folks period who are 28 and own their second home, able to afford an automobile, or some of the other things that I like to do. Yes there are jobs where you don't need a degree, but most of them you need some type of training. You don't hardly walk in a job in 2010 and make a 100k without a piece of paper. Also to those who say you'll never be a millionaire. Keep thinking that the company I work for everyone retires a millionaire between our 401k payments and pension pay outs. oil money niggas

Yeh all of my classes are recorded and many of them get put on itunesU. It is always a plus when you can see something over and over again or watch and not have to worry about taking notes and trying to keep up with whats going on.
For me, this is only a supplement though. Because nothing can really beat the long and frustrating hours in the lab when you are working on a team project and having access to machines, and systems that would never be able to buy. Not to mention hundred thousand dollar software packages. And I am of those guys that will try to download anything. But when I need access to a program for a project, all I have to do is remote in to one of the labs and I can use anything.
I understand college is not for everyone, and if you go to college and don't get scholarships and finish with a degree that is in demand, you will get fucked over big time.

I've never understood why so many African American men are against going to college and obtaining a degree...it's just a four year commitment that one makes between, typically, the ages of 18 - 22/23. With all the issues that affect the African American community so harshly and knowing the struggles that our forefathers endured, you would think that African American men would champion higher education.

I will be the first one to concede that a degree does not guarantee you success but it does show a potential employer and potential business partner that you have set a goal and you were focused and disciplined enough to achieve said goal.

And for the guys that are making what you consider to be "good money" without a degree, Congratulations! You are anomalies/outliers. The overwhelming number of people without a degree will never make what you make because they were not driven enough or creative enough or had the right connections to get to that level. I commend you for your accomplishments but please refrain from telling others that they do not need college. We should be encouraging our brothers to get as much education as they can so they can go out to the workforce and be as productive as they can or go out and start their own business with the knowledge that they received from school or received from the job that they got because of graduating from school.

Lastly, a college degree is way more than "just a piece of paper". While in college, one should have acquired a couple of skill sets such as but not limited to: Writing persuasively, analysis of higher level mathematics, reading comprehension, public speaking, analysis of higher level chemistry, physics, biology and a theoretical analysis of business and economics.

Let's get it together people. More brothers in college obtaining degrees could lead to more brothers getting better jobs and possibly starting business that could lead to employing more Africans Americans in the workforce and help to make our community better. Higher Education and taking massive action is the key to getting the African American community out of the doldrums.

They aren't trying to hear this truth. For some odd reason we as people don't want to put in time and effort to get ahead. We want it now.
