I liked that the show picked up. It should be like this every week.

One interesting thing I noticed...and I may have missed something since I tuned in a few minutes into the show..... The daughters boyfriend was sick but did he mentioned. Being bitten? ....also they showed the one neighbor packing his car up and looking obviously sick. Looks like the people start initially dying from the virus (assuming those two will die) without being bitten......whereas on twd, everybody has the virus but it doesn't kill you unless a bite or a scratch jump starts the process.
I thought ep 2 was good although I wanted to murder the ex wife and the son. Plus both the white mom and addict son....why the fuck won't they tell the daughter what's going on? She prob won't believe them anyway but the mom just gives her a blank stare when she asks.

We saw in episode one that everyone who dies becomes a walker whether they get bit or not. Yet somehow it takes Rick and his crew nearly half a season to figure this out?

I think you raised a good question. We don't know what happened with the neighbor to make him "sick". For all we know, him coughing and looking sick might have been to lead the viewers on. They might pick up where he left off and show that he's clearly been bitten or scratched.

No, I think all the people are attacked. In most zombie stories, initial attacks are brushed off as attacks by crazy people. Bar fights. Random nut scratching you on the street.
People don't think much of it and end up sick. Remember, all it takes is a scratch. Infected fluids can do it too. One thing we know is that people usually hide their bites/scratches from others.
Random nuts and bar fights are one thing, but when those people persue you relentlessly and try to eat you whole it's another. Especially when they have milky white eyes and guttural moans. Then, when your little scratch starts looking like a raw steak how could you possibly dismiss? No denial in the world is that strong.
I don't understand why getting bit exasperates the transmission of the virus?
I get the one explanation that it's not the bite that kills a bitten person but the fact that the zombies mouth is full of bacteria and disease that causes the bitten person to die.
If that's the case, these are the fresh first batch of zombies without months of decay and carrion.

Yeah, that's something that hasn't been explained... too bad dude at the Atlanta disease control building didn't mention something about it. One other thing that was kinda missed on TWD... when the disease control doc was showing the brain scan of his wife while she died and turned into a walker, he said that only the brain stem comes back to life. So it would seem that to kill a walker, you'd have to shoot/stab/spear them through the brain stem, right? Yet, we see walkers getting killed with arrows, knives, bullets through the eyes and temples, etc. Just nitpicking.... I still love the shit though.
Zombies go against rational explanation. People will look for every explanation BUT that one. Plus, zombies are a small number at first. They will attack every living thing and won't just focus on one.
If a zombie is shuffling down the street and comes upon bar hoppers, it might bite one, and then go after the other person pulling it off the first victim. What if a stranger comes to a person's aid? The first victim will flee leaving the stranger to be pursued by the attacker.

I was bored during both episodes so far....
ep. 2 heated up a good bit though. Episode 1 pretty much had to be slow because shit was just starting. It should keep ramping up as things get more and more chaotic and more people figure out what's going on.

Z Nation season is coming soon. Charge this shit to the game. I'm not watching anymore from this camp after that LAST Walking Dead season. They string you along and string you along, and string you along for views. Get you to locked into caring about characters' story lines and you're hooked.Shit is wack. Terminus could've been epic but they rushed out of that situation. They don't know what they're are doing at this point.

You couldn't find more than a couple black characters on screen at a time. The show was criticized for perpetuating a tired trope: token black guy, only there to even out racial demographics.
Now, "Fear the Walking Dead," the series' prequel, has some fans wondering whether the new show is off to the same irritating start. So far, three major characters have died, all of whom are black. You'd think the writers would have taken past criticism into account, right?
The Hollywood Reporter broached the subject with showrunner Dave Erickson, who defended the story arc as we've seen it so far.
"I realize it's clearly become an issue and it's something we are mindful of," Erickson explained. "But ultimately it's trying to tell the story the best way we can and cast the best people we can. I wouldn't want to go back and recast a character just to avoid … if it doesn't feel true to the character or the relationship -- the relationship with Alicia and Matt or Calvin and Nick."
Also, according to Erickson, producers casting the series didn't even know which characters were going to live or die.
The original "Walking Dead" has somewhat remedied its "token black guy" problem by introducing some new black characters -- and letting a few live. To viewers who might want to dismiss the spinoff for dragging a racist trope into 2015, Erickson says: Keep watching.
"When you're dealing with a show where you have a cast that is as diverse as ours is," he told The Hollywood Reporter, "it's inevitable that characters of color are going to get bit and are going to turn or die. If you look at the larger scope of this season, what people will see is that there is parity."

Man I swear. Haven't even watched this bullshit yet and I been thinkin the past couple weeks about doin a zombie comic with all black characters cuz WALKIN DEAD and every other zombie flic is the SAME SHIT. Always a cracka is the leader and one or two blacks until they get killed and maybe replaced later.

They just made all of the main characters stupid. Travis still thinking they can be helped, his new wife helping her junkie son by stealing drugs from the school, the rebellious daughter who does the opposite of everything she is told. They make these fools lucky. All should have been dead already.
