Ex-Porn Stars In Their New Lives After Porn

Do y'all think it was unfair that that chick Pink - I think her real name is Bethany Grant - was kicked out of a singing group because of her past porn career? I think she was supposed to be in a group with that fine ass chick that got kicked out of Destiny's Child but when they found out that she used to do flicks they fired her. I only ask because I've seen the sentiment expressed on here quite often that these chicks are treated unfairly because of their pasts. Ex-porn hoes have lost teaching gigs, office jobs, etc because they used to suck dick on film but I can see how someone could make the argument that her particular case was different because singing is just entertainment like porn is entertainment.

I hate this shit. They act like being a pornstar is illegal and treat them worse than drug dealers and murderers when what those people are doing is actually illegal

I personally know women who have done a hell of a lot worse then your average run-of-the-mill porn actress, the only difference is the porn actress is on film. There is a record of that. You can go on Xvideos or xHamster and see her get smutted out

But these women are just entertainers, no different than singers, just freaky/kinky

I've heard of so many former pornstars lose their jobs because of porn performances they did five, 10, 15 or 20 years ago.

Most Black men can't take the heat in dating them so they go to White boys

Yeah, I know about the Moral Majority backlash. In the case of Hefner, I think he was glad to tame his product down. He only started to go harder because guys like Flynt, Guccione, and to a lesser extent Al Goldstein started to eat away at his sales with their harder content. That started the whole "pubic wars" where they were competing with each other to show more and more.

I was born in '87 so while I consider myself old, I'm probably considered a toddler on this site (Larry Holmes smiley). I got my first computer, with Internet access (dialup), in the late 90s. By the time the 00s rolled around, I had all the porn I wanted at my fingertips. I've been to a few porn shops but that was like going to a museum for me. I just wanted to see what it felt like back in the day when people had to go into places like that to get jerk off material.

I also remember all the raunchy shit Hollywood was putting out in the early 00s like "American Pie." All that Moral Majority and Reagan era stuff was pretty much dead by the 00s. That said, your point about the Black community not being a part of all that for the most is definitely true. That's why I made the point I did because I know Destiny's Child was trying to appeal to a Black fan base. A group like the Spice Girls probably wouldn't have cared to have a porn actress in the group.

P.S.
What I forgot to add about the late 90s was the Clinton-Lewinski sex scandal. That was a cultural touchstone for the nation. You had explicit sex acts being described on national TV involving a sitting president of the US. There was no turning back at that point. Society, in general, was a lot more open about sex at that point.

Oh yeah, definitely.... The Moral Majority era was long in the past by the early 2000s. But the reason I brought it up was because your evocation of the porno chic of the 1970s, and Deep Throat and all seemed as if you were implying there was a straight, unbroken line from the 70s to the 2000s with regard to society's permissiveness. (Though to be fair, you did reference the cyclical nature of culture)

Still, I think you're making the mistake of conflating laidback attitudes towards *sex* with laidback attitudes towards *porn*... Yeah, the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal made society at large have to reckon with the pleasures of oral sex... but it's not like we actually saw a TAPE of Monica sucking Bill's dick.

Sure, we had raunchy movies... sure, there was a lot of boobs and even some bush on the big screen. But in American Pie, it's not like we saw Jason Biggs actually sticking his dick in the pie on camera. Eugene Levy didn't eat Jason's nut. There's a big difference between society being cool with sexuality vs. society being cool with porn.

It's crazy to think that it would have been okay if there was a former porn star in the Spice Girls--a group that was aggressively marketed to 9-year-old girls??? That shit would not fly TODAY, let alone 15 years ago. I mean, there WAS a minor scandal early in their career when it was found out that Ginger Spice had done some nude modeling when she was younger... but they overcame it. And that is still a long, long way from if she had done hardcore XXX. No way could that have worked out for them, even today. That's like saying you believe Riley Reid could be cast on a Disney Channel show. Nah, man lol

Remember back in the early 2000s when girls were getting kicked off trashy VH1 reality shows and being shamed when it was revealed that they had done porn... 15 years ago was a very different era from today, yo. But even today in 2022 you still got porn stars unable to find jobs when they leave the industry... shit, right here on a fucking porn forum, in this very thread, you have cats shaming girls for porn they did 20 years ago. That should tell you that no matter how liberal society may be around sexuality... there is still a distinct stigma around porn. And it was more so in the early 2000s when there was a much clearer line between the worlds of mainstream and underground entertainment.

Thanks for the reply first of all. This is a great discussion. I agree with a lot of what you're saying because I get the impression you are older (no offense) and experienced this shit either first hand or just was more aware of it.

I get what you're saying about the distinction between being more lax about sex and accepting porn. This society is schizophrenic about it really. It enjoys sex work but hates sex workers. It's like enjoying Black music/culture but hating Black ppl which I know happens all of the time. It's insane.

Spice Girls probably wasn't the best example. I just mentioned them because they seem like they had more leeway than Destiny's Child back then. Madonna might be a better example since she released her book "Sex" in the early 90s when she still had a young fan base. I also read somewhere that Jenna Jameson would get a lot of adolescent girls at her book signings for "Have Sex Like a Porn Star" but that's a bit more recent I believe.

"American Pie," like you said, was definitely more suggestive than explicit. But it seemed like it opened up a doorway to raunchier and raunchier mainstream movies. Think of the raunchy movie spoofs by the Wayans brothers for instance. I believe it also had a desensitizing effect on the public and allowed it to accept more stuff. I can remember being in high school and watching infomercials for "Girls Gone Wild" and "Wild Party Girls." Many social conservatives would argue that was the "pornification" of our culture.

Anyway, it's very interesting discussing all of this recent cultural history.

The professions I see these young ladies going into after porn would be jobs such as law ..medical.. an the ministry

I'd say the most popular professions for former porn stars are personal trainer, realtor, chef. Those who have the head for it might go to IT also.
I have to agree with you on that cuz I can think of a few well for sure one that's a personal trainer and that's Monique / shamara..... But they do go into a lot of grassroots type advocacy type job / groups that help individuals in the adult business

She was always the baddest when she had black hair. I’ve had my moments of absence here but didn’t someone used go to the same church as her and used to occasionally post her in her Sundays best.

I don't think you can really call it "in proportion" when you factor in her height.

No but I would like to see her in her church best.... It would kind of be hard to picture her singing.... leaning on the everlasting arms. ..
