Education: The Elite College Students Who Can’t Read Books

He forgot one more thing not reading, can't read or want to read. And,the sad part; you have way too many adults that don't want to read anything at all.

^^^^ bars of truth

Oh they will read

But it has to simple digestible salacious easy and confirm everything they feel and believe

Or worse watch hours if youtube clips on the books they won't read for themselves

Not realizing that white AI British voice isn't to be trusted.

These algorithms will be our death

Like,I've always say it doesn't have to be an autobiography, biography, anything historic, educational and etc. It could something simple as a comic book but many adults don't even want to do that.

People complain about having no pictures while reading but don't want to read graphic novels...

I mostly read fantasy novels, mangas and manhwas but at least I'm reading something at my age. I do want to start reading autobiographies though.

Salute...I used tell my students and kids JUST READ ANYTHING! no rules

Read what your curiosity about or love first.

All books aren't created equal there a lot if bad books. But I had to teach them long doesn't mean bad or boring.

Pictures doesn't mean it's a kid book.

reading is exercise and it's like working out your eyes and brain and attention span and mental stamina.

I seem 7 year Olds read 20p page books and 10 year Olds devour harry potter

I USED TO be able to read a Mosley novel in a weekend.

All these new diehard Kendrick fans would rather sit on Google for hours watching YouTube and TikTok video breakdowns if his songs

as opposed to actually finding researching and READING THE SOURCE MATERIAL KENDRICK IS (TRYING DESPERATELY) INSPIRING HIS AUDIENCE TO READ.

how are fans championing his intelligence yet showing their continued unwillingness to participate themselves in a very accessible knowledge journey Kendrick is begging them to take?

It's a sad joke.

Not only did he say that you didn't need to learn to read, he gave examples as to why you didn't need to learn.

Even the guy next to him was telling Juelz he was right, the more they talked I

So he believes that kids should be taught financial literacy, but not actual literacy?

He believes that kids should know numbers, but not know how to spell numbers as words?

I can't, this is too dumb for me to take seriously! :roflmao::roflmao2::roflmao3:

What's even more egregious is that he thinks every book is on YouTube....In the next breath says "common sense" is better than everything....And,then after that says he rather have no book smarts and have common sense and read the room.

The dude next to him is super retarded just agreeing with him for no reason...

My goodness...

Un-Ironically, I have heard a number of lecturers refer to this period we are in as a "post literate society" and it seems pretty true. People are dumb and loud, the ignorant are as confident as the experts, and searching on social media (and now GPT) is regarded as "research". Facts don't matter.

I believe the true evil is the black man sitting next to Santana ill fitted teeth co signing everything

Its living proof ignorance is like the worst super virus

Its infectious and insidious

It shows that moron had previously been thinking that dumb sh*t but was afraid to utter such complete nonsense in public until Julez spit slurred it out to the world.

That guy finally felt free to be stupid and not judged

This was a field test to show just how dumb gets spread and why we are what we are now.

MAGA, anti vax, flat earth, etc etc etc

Philosophy, psychology, English and biology
Et cetera, and all of these have a purpose”

I remember when I first heard those bars and how deeply they stuck with me. I felt empowered and a duty to expand my knowledge unlimitedly. Those bars echoed throughout my scholastic career, along with some great mentorship from people who were looking out for me.

I’ve been teaching for 11 years now, and I’ve had a wide range of students. I’ve taught at different levels from the ages of preteen to people in their 60s. I’ve met plenty of people with no formal education, that have done well for themselves in life.

But our reality is society functions at different levels, and how we navigate where we come from to where we are heading matters. Our ability to read and comprehend gives us a foundation to reduce being manipulated by those who are determined to keep us at certain level. Because the less we know or understand, the easier it is to control us.

I can’t fully address the stupidity I heard from Julez and his moronic minion, but his rhetoric is similar to what I experience daily in my classroom. Plus, common sense isn’t the same across environments. It’s subjective.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. I’ll be writing dissertations discussing for the art of being stupid.

Water seeks its levels. The host needed validation, and he got it. But he isn’t alone in thinking this way.

These are patterns people learn and carry their entire life.
