Drink More Lemon Water

I understand where you are getting at but that lemon juice, regardless of quantity has absolutely no benefits whatsoever except citric acid and very little effective abscorbic acid (vitamin c) left. Even if you drank half the bottle as compared to one lemon wedge (1/4 of lemon), that wedge would be way more nutrient packed than pasteurized juice from concentrate.

Basically, if something is made to sit on the shelf, they have to remove or add things to keep it from degrading. It's then only useful for cooking and seasoning but not for giving you the full benefit of it's nutrients. A good comparison that isn't so misleading is the nutritional facts for True Lemon (one packet) vs a teaspoon of lemon juice from concentrate. You still get Vitamin C from True Lemon. Still nothing from the concentrate.
This man knows what he is talking about

Not healthy. If you want to lose weight/cleanse, it is safer to follow a vegan diet and drink plain water, in addition to becoming more active. If you want to add lemon to your water, that's alright.

Yea, I was afraid of that. Deep deep down inside I knew I couldn't be the healthiest thing to do, but I haven't rocked a 6-pack in years. My abs are slowly starting to surface, and it kinda feels good.

I'll have to play catch and start eating healthy after this 10 day run.

Just came back to share this with the fam.

All of you that are buying lemons/limes and looking for a good, inexpensive juicer :

I picked that up from Target the other day for 17.99, and it works great man, juiced a few lemons in minutes and the cleanup is easy as shit.

Alright I read that its bad for your teeth but I can easily fix that (drink with a straw).

Also it says drink as lukewarm water but I want my shit cold. Does it really matter?

You're right. And using a straw will minimize contact with most teeth, but will still get at the back ones. Personally, I just drink water......light fruit tastes in water taste bad to me.

I love lemon water. What I do is I have a 32oz water bottle. I fill it with water and ice, and add some lemon juice. I have that beside me and drink it all day. I do this about 2 times a day mostly in the summertime and it sustains me. I also drink lots of water too (without lemon juice).

Great!! I just purchased a bag of fresh lemons. Props!!:dance::dance:

The Benefits of Lemon Water

Lemon water is truly beneficial in any beauty care regimen. Lemon and water both have clarifying actions in your body. Both lemon and water help to flush out toxins in your system. Although lemons are thought to be acidic, they are in fact very alkalizing to the body.

Most of the foods we eat are acidic and too much acid can bring about a barrage of health problems. Your body actually prefers to be alkaline. Instead we bombard our systems with too many acidic foods and drinks, which have long lasting detrimental effects on our bodies. Lemons stimulate and aid elimination in the digestive system. They also help purify the liver by eliminating toxins and waste products.

Lemons are not just for lemonade anymore. They are a small yellow fruit with powerful healing properties.

# Lemon water helps clean the toxins out of our bodies. Your skin can't look healthy if your body is holding onto toxins! When you get rid of toxic waste in your system, your skin will show it first! Your skin will be the first thing YOU notice cause it looks clear and not sallow and full of acne. However, that's not all the benefits that lemons provide for us! (Another healthy way to get rid of toxins that hold onto your fat and cause visceral fat, is by doing a health cleanse!)

# Lemon can help relieve many digestion problems when mixed with hot water. These include nausea, heartburn, constipation and parasites. It is even known to help relieve hiccups when consumed as a juice. Lemon juice acts as a tonic to the liver and helps us digest our food by helping the liver produce more bile. It also helps cut down on the amount of phlegm produced by our body. It is also thought to help dissolve gallstones.

# Because of its high Vitamin C content, it is thought to help prevent and treat many infections, hasten wound healing, and diminish allergies. Lemon juice also relieves symptoms of asthma, tonsillitis, and sore throats.

# Lemon is a diuretic. This means that lemon water is especially good for people with urinary tract infections. People with arthritis or rheumatism can benefit from consuming lemons because it helps flush out toxins and bacteria. When lemon is mixed with coffee, it also helps eliminate headaches. (Interesting, caffeine is usually a precursor to headaches. Maybe the lemons cancel out the side effects of the caffeine found in coffee?)

# When externally applied, lemon juice poured on a cotton ball and gently applied to the nostrils can stop nose bleeds although this may sting a little. When massaged gently into gums, lemon juice can stop bleeding gums in the mouth. Lemon juice with glycerin is effective when used on the lips to treat chapped lips. (Don't apply lemon juice however, if the skin on your lips is cracked. Ouch!) Applied on your skin, lemon juice can also help prevent sunburn. Lemons are a key ingredient in effective liver cleanses.

# Water cleanses and purifies the body. It also has an alkalizing effect on the body. It is essential to every bodily function at a cellular level in the body. Bottled water has become a staple product of our society. The water you drink is essential to your existence but we forget how much we rely on it until we don't have it. Then we really miss and crave it. (Think about Katrina or Survivor!)

# Lemon is also very good at clarifying your hair to remove hair products. For those with dark hair, you can use lemon juice to add golden and red highlights to your hair. For those with blonde hair, you can use it to lighten your blonde color. To do this, simply squeeze the juice from 1/2 lemon (or more) into your hair and sit out in the sun for an hour. Shampoo and condition afterwards for hair that looks shinier, reflects more highlights, and feels cleaner!

It is imperative that you get both water and lemon in your diet, if you want to stay healthy and preserve your beauty. When you mix them together to make lemon water, you get a healthy way to replenish and rejuvenate your body.

Ok, I like lemons, but don't like anything in my water? So to drink lemon water just won't do it for me.:puke:

Can I just squeeze the lemons and possibly drink the lemon juice like that or does it not have the same effect?

Thanks.

remember a low ph food is basically the same as eating acid, and thats why alot of folks have acid indigesion and other stomach problems because they eat alot of low ph food, some people might say low ph water's acidic level helps kill bacteria, but if thats the case u might aswell drink the acid water they put in car batteries

:eek::puke:

Funny that you mentioned acid indigestion and low ph. I'm home now with the flu :puke: and I think I have gone over the top with the orange juice. I have already have acid reflux that only acts up from time to time. But I'm thinking with the sore throat and acid from the OJ, I'm doing myself more damage than good.

^^^That's what I have always been hip to...

Every three months or so I do a vegan binge for a week or two or sometimes an entire month. Drinking mostly water and occasional tea, cranberry juice, or pomegranite juice.

I have a HUMONGOUS lemon tree in my backyard. So I have more lemons than I could EVER use in a lifetime, as it bears fruit 365 days a ear, it seems. Them shits are big as oranges too, with thin skins and extremely juicy pulps. Far better flavor and juice content than any market lemons. LOL @ the portions of the tree that hang over the fence of my property! Niggas be raiding them branches like they shot out from th Garden of Eden itself...

I started a routine of The Master Cleanse about six years ago. The Master Cleanse is lemon juice (fresh squeezed), maple syrup (for taste and some nutrients), and cayenne pepper and ten ounces of water.

When I follow it faithfully ... my bronchitis, severe allergies, and respiratory issues are all gone. My skin is clear and it does reduce fat.

I have not had a coughing fit in years, and I am regularly doing yard work every year without issue. Still working on the weight...

If I told people how much shit I learn on bgol, they wouldnt believe me.

It's like telling someone you subscribe to playboy for the articles.

why not simply eat the lemon, instead of going through the effort of juicing it, and mixing it with water? like Paula Deanda, y'all "Doin Too Much"...

But yeah, lemons are great...what alot of people don't know is you can use lemons for deodorant. If you notice, supermarket workers who work in the seafood section usually scrub their hands with lemons at the end of their shift, to remove the smell.

How many people are their at the end of their shift to see this?

I'm just saying....

Good info. Just be careful when you ask for lemon water in a restaurant.... many times these idiots cut the lemon with the same knife or on the same cutting board where raw meat has been prepared:eek: meaning you could be drinking a glass of salmonella or other nasty bacteria.

Actually there is a reduced risk of salmonella when exposed to citric acid from lemon juice. Bacteria does not like a significantly acid environment. Lemon is actually used by most chefs to sterilize the cutting board, however the problem here isn't the chef. If there is a person preparing drinks, he shouldn't be relying on the chef's knife.

None of you experienced lemon water drinkers are responding to the teeth situation though. What yall shit look like now from years of drinking it? Also does it matter if the water is cold or Lukewarm like I read it should be?

nice read.
and yes lemons are healthy....but dont go crazy with it.
saw some dude talking about he messes with lemon water everyday.
well....everything should be taken in moderation...even if its healthy.
lots of lemons/lemon juice can really fuck up your teeth....takes the enamel off/literally eats away at your teeth.
ive been through this so i know what im typing about

example of acid/enamel erosion.....which can be done by eating too many lemons ..oranges...grapefruit..etc

Citric Acid Bath
So what happens when we bathe our teeth in an acid bath, such as citric acid from lemons or carbonic acid from soda?

The inorganic calcium salts are dissolved. The tooth becomes decalcified leaving a soft organic matrix that can be easily abraded away or invaded by bacteria and hence decayed.

A typical individual who has habitually been sucking on lemons will have lost the enamel on the front of their teeth and perhaps even display acid erosion on the biting surfaces of their back teeth. Drinking large quantities of soda will also cause a generalized decalcification of the teeth.

Shit, just gargle immediately afterwards with baking soda. It will neutralize the citric acid
