Donovan McNabb Says "Athletes Need To Get Off Of Twitter" YOU AGREE?

What does a lockout have to do with him thinking about where his next job will be? He just came off a season where he was benched for Rex Grossman. He pretty much should be only focused on getting in the best shape, improving his accuracy, and getting ready to kick ass once the season starts.

Twitter is the last of his problems.

That's the story of McNabb's career. Worried about shit he has no business being worried about.

No, that would be most of the fools who Twitter about themselves and nonsense. McNabb's actually worried about his LEAGUE and its reputation, unlike the knuckleheads.

The league is full of people who have been accused of rape, murder and domestic violence. But Twitter is the shit that's going to harm the league's reputation? Shit maybe if these guys would use Twitter more they wouldn't have time to do some of the stupid shit they do? Ochocinco and TO are guys who use Twitter probably more than ANYONE and they seem to be able to NEVER get in trouble.

*waiting for coons to call McNabb a coon*

What did Weiner do that was illegal, sure he shouldnt done what he done but everyone act liked he broke the law or something

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

I have a account and tried it to see what it was but in reality it was a less effective version of BGOL to me. I'd rather be on BGOL.

Exactly. That's all Twitter is. They called the shit "Twitter" and gave it a cute name and people took the bait.

I only went on twitter a few times and deleted it just a couple of months ago.....That is the dumbest idea in the world...

McNabb makes a great point.

Every one needs to get off Twitter...especially those who follow people on it.

I've been saying that for awhile.

Don't be cantankerous old men!

I used to have the same view but have you actually tried twitter? It has its uses-- It's not all "Taking a shit at @HNIC's crib" or "No cheese on my burger " shit.

I started using it in March and I like it now. :dunno:

Twitter is a micro-blogging site. What does a blog model itself after? A forum post, with responses right? Twitter is nothing more than the largest, most active forum on the net. Its very obvious.
Good explanation.

Except for the forced brevity, which I believe is unique to Twitter, correct?

It's like what BGOL would be if Colin Powell reigned almighty.

Very True...and he also needs to not to fuckin balloon up to 260lbs and stay at 230 so he can maintain his fuckin mobility and stay injury free

I agree with McNabb. Twitter ain't bullshit though. It's people who use Twitter to tweet bullshit who are on some bullshit.:D

the shit that b killin me the most is u can get in hella trouble for typin some shit not even hurtin some1 or goin off on tv or in public, but gettin into 2 trouble for sumtin u typed on ur laptop/pc/ipad/cell phne

twitter is an attention whoring site. plus all people do on twitter is talk shit behind people's back and bitch or complain about some stupid shit in their lives. you can be sitting besides somebody and they can be talking shit about you.

twitter just made it cool to be a little complaining bitch ass pussy. you got something to say why go on the internet for?

I've been saying it for the past two years

You realize how dumb some of these athletes and entertainers are

Yep.......

Simple and plain!

if you have no formal public relations training as an athlete you need to get off of twitter period.
you will slip up and someone is ALWAYS watching your tweets, they find the most insignificant horrible players who don't even play and if they say something stupid, its caught and reported.

leave the p.r. to the p.r. people you hire.

these^^

The problem isn't Twitter. Its the people abusing Twitter. Like IMO, Ochocinco does a good job of branding himself with Twitter. He keeps himself close to the fans and doesn't act like fans are beneith him. Fans like that. Its the people like Chris Brown(yea he's a singer) and other dumbasses who don't know how to handle Twitter.

But how does he monetize that? He's a football player. He's not getting more money because he has a Twitter account. So the gains are minimal while the risks are great.

The funny thing is he's giving a media interview knocking players for knocking other players in the media.

If players shouldn't be on twitter, they shouldn't be doing all these interviews either.

:hmm: That's a reach.

Umm Wrong. As a micro blogging site its modeled after a blog. Not a message board. Also, being modeled after a thing does not equate to being equal to or "just like" that thing. Further, the model that twitter used as its foundation was that of SMS texting, not message board communication. Its primary usage is attention whoring, short personal updates, real time tracking, advertising, and general inconsequential and/or random banter. All in short burst/blast format. Its nothing like BGOL.

hell yeah, i agree. There is no upside to it. You're not going to sell anymore tickets or jerseys or anything because you have a twitter or fb account. I don't see what they gain from it but i have seen plenty of times how they get in trouble with it.
