Doc and Darryl on ESPN right now

This doesn't seem like one of the better 30's

I might have to finish them up later

Bill Maher is part owner of the Mets?

Strawberry was my guy growing up.
That was before Florida had a baseball team.
We used to get WOR channel and I used to watch the games and collect cards.
I don't think I could watch 5 minutes of baseball now.

I use to play baseball crazy and nobody couldn't tell me I was both of these brothers!

Ill have to find it online somewhere to peep this.

DVR'd it... gonna watch later... damn, it this sit makes me feel old though, because I remember Darryl was the reason I started watching baseball back in 83... then Dwight in 84 got me really into it. So sad how they both just couldn't stay away from that shit. They both had a good chance of long term greatness. Shit, I think Darryl could have/would have hit 500 had he not missed so much time, and made it to the hall just based on that. Can't say that 300 wins would have ever been as doable for Doc, had he stayed clean, just because of shoulders/elbows being shoulders/elbows, but he most definitely could have had a few more good years. I'm happy that they both ended up doing some decent shit with the Yanks towards the end of their careers.

I don't think Doc is clean. He's showing way too many signs and he looks horrible.

He was 100% on drugs during that sit down with Strawberry. You can see it in his face and how he was twitching and moving around the entire time. He looked like shit. Sad stuff....

It was telling in the beginning of the documentary where they asked his mom if he's ok/how is he, and she said something to the effect of "he SAYS he's ok..I hope he is"

Heartbreaking. You can tell she just come to accept that he's his own worst enemy and can do nothing but pray for him now.

I think Darryl even knew it when they were sitting in the diner. Doc & Darryl could have been some of the all time greats man:smh:

Did u hear when the damn commissioner said one of your BLACK super star is doing drugs to Ray Knight?

And they tried to pit the 2 black stars against each other?

Tell me ya'll ain't miss that?

Looking back did we sleep on how damn good Strawberry was back then?

Nah, that brotha was the ish. He had the speed to steal 40 bases and power to crack 40 homers. We are really missing brothas in the game. The brothas had the sweetest stance and swings like,

1) Cecil Fielder
2) Dave Winfield
3) Darryl Strawberry
4) Ricky muthafuckin Henderson
5) Barry Bonds

And the list goes on, I wonder if my interest died when less and less brothas were in the game?

And thinking of these brothers...

Have 2 athletes played in the same city 2 different teams at such a high level?

Good lawd...

Ya'll realize it's essentially a bunch of old white men talking throughout this criticizing and dismantling these 2 black men.

Ken Griffy

I lost interest after the white dude said everybody was getting money in NYC in 1986.

I don't think so... he got props for his power and his overall talent... but he was very streaky as a hitter. He'd carry a team for 3 weeks, and then go ice cold, weakly chasing those low and outside pitches. If he could have just kept his head straight for a few years in a row..... damn.
