DeSantis Doubles down and says Some Blacks Benefited from Slavery. BOTH FUCKING SIDES!!!!

It has a long end game, and a lot of these heathens are content to let the GOP do whatever they want to "punish" dems, which is harming our own community in the long run.

That's it and that's all. When you ask them key specifics about policies and laws they can never seem to answer. They just say "fuck the democrats" - over and over again.

They believe that no bad policy effects them directly.

Well, their main goal is for you not to vote.

By saying they are "both the same" they are hoping (people who are politically ignorant) will just not vote. The tactic is constantly used on black social media because the ultimate goal is for us to not show up. It's a "soft sell" vs a "hard one".

If I can get you to just not show up (and pretend I'm not with the other side) it's a win.
Ok right. But what do you think THEY think the reward is for them if they succeed?

So we re voting for Jill Stein and getting 45 as a result?

Or should we write in the man in the mirror Mike was talking about?

I ll wait.
answer my question first before you change the goalpost and talk about Republicans.

Who said to vote Republican as you stated? Then I will answer your dumb ass deflection question. It's funny how the other Dumbocrats approved of your deflection.

Cliff notes
"The point of this thread, if it is not clear, is to say that the factual choices presented in the African American section, even if true, are indeed political choices. They are not reflective of an accurate accounting of history. They are not objective. They do not get us truth.
I ask every well-meaning, hand-wringing person who says, well, it is true that enslaved people could use the skills they could have learned if they were free to benefit themselves if they ever got freedom, to stop being gaslit and foolish. These are political choices.
This is curriculum that is trying to hide the crime in a state led by folks who cannot bear the truth and who want to hide the truth for political gain by diminishing what Black Americans have experienced and what white Americans have done or allowed to be done."

Man I don't think there is a reward. Tariq at least gets paid for his agent services. These other clowns just want revenge

I actually agree with the thoughts of Festinger et al. when they posit that the reward is just like the anti-vaccine nonsense in that once you realize that you are on the wrong side and have gone all in, all you have left is the satisfaction of knowing that somebody may be listening to you. Leon Festinger is the psychologist who pioneered all of our understanding on cognitive dissonance. He studied doomsday cults to understand how they reacted after the "prophecies" they predicted never came true. As a result of his observations, he came up with the theory of cognitive dissonance and a framework that explains the how/why of the stupid shit we often see on here and elsewhere eg strong commitment to easily debunked ideas etc.

"1. A belief must be held with deep conviction and it must have some relevance to action, that is, to what the believer does or how he or she behaves."Makes the belief resistant to change.
"2. The person holding the belief must have committed himself to it; that is, for the sake of his belief, he must have taken some important action that is difficult to undo. In general, the more important such actions are, and the more difficult they are to undo, the greater is the individual's commitment to the belief."Makes the belief resistant to change.
"3. The belief must be sufficiently specific and sufficiently concerned with the real world so that events may unequivocally refute the belief."Exposes believers to the possibility of their belief being disproved.
"4. Such undeniable disconfirmatory evidence must occur and must be recognized by the individual holding the belief."Exerts pressure on believers to abandon their belief.
"5. The individual believer must have social support."While an individual might be unable to resist the pressure to abandon their belief in the face of disconfirming facts, a group might be able to support each other to maintain the belief.

This is the book and it is definitely worth a read if you are interested in trying to understand the aggressive stupidity that we have often seen especially since trump/covid...

We need black wealth to increase, black business to expand, and our reparations.

You buffoons worry about what one white man thinks to give away your vote.

Whew, he won't say that no more!

Stay losing and getting played.

"Did Black people benefit from slavery?
- No.

But I thank God everyday that my ancestors were lucky enough to have been bought to the greatest nation on Earth by good, God fearing White people".

maxresdefault.jpg

"Yep.
Black people travelled to America early, because our ancestors recognized the potenial of the American dream.
That's why I'm able to have the career that I have today and was fortunate enough to end up in the arms of this beautiful White man."

"100% cosign.
White people have supported me in my endeavors largely because I speak the truth about how good they are and I share their values.
Slavery didn't benefit me nor did it make me rich.
- White people did."

Brilliant

The GOP is making noise about raising the retirement age. Do you want to let them get power and do it?

the Dems are pushing a bill that gives children gender-affirming care to change their hormones. you want that?

You act like the repubs are 100% this and the dems are 100% that. LOL. Both are fucked up. Can you defend the Dems without talking about Repubs?

I definitely need this book!

I was raised as a JW. Left the church at 14 and realized it was full of crap. Since then I've gone to a whole range of feelings and opinions regarding the organization, but there has always been one thing that I could never shake from my mind.

How do intelligent logical people fall for stupid irrational things?

There was one brother, I'll call him brother holly, who was a certified genius. Graduated at the top of his graduating class while taking STEM classes. He was offered a full scholarship from Waterloo University in Ontario. Canada's closest equivalent to an ivy league.

Unfortunately Jehovah's witnesses see college as nothing more than a pursuit of worldly riches. They want you to get the minimum amount of education you need to keep you and your family alive while you preach about the end of the world. Brother Holly turned down the scholarship and got a job at the post office instead.

Of all the people in my old congregation Brother Holly should have been able to see through the matrix. For some reason he either couldn't or wouldn't do it. There was a lot of intelligent people who did the same.

They are linked. One party or the other will be on charge, so the comparison of what policies are better is appropriate. There are very few times that the parties don't vote along party lines, but one party is out of touch with average Americans who work jobs doing physical labor and want you toiling until the grave, at the same time attacking Biden for age. They are telling you want they want to do, and you may think it's no big deal, but you damn sure will be mad at dems if they can't prevent it.

same thing goes for dems.

no, the game is that you have to accept one or the other, so they can play good cop, bad cop. if either one doesn't serve you, you don't play the game until a party will cater to you to get your vote.

The whites of the Dem party don't give a shit about you and after 70 years of loyalty to them, you are still the most disrespected type of human in this country and easily manipulated to put out this trash thot culture, rely on govt while claiming independence don't need a man. The destruction of the wholesome image you once had pre 70s is a remarkable feat.

They don't need to care about me for me to use them to keep the GOP at bay.

@lazarus I'm generally curious. Are you an eligible voter in Cali right now and if so, are sitting out of the Cali Senate election? I wasn't planning to ask in this thread but since it involves a candidate who is publicly supporting reparations, it has some relevancy. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_Senate_election_in_California

Strawman.

I don't expect you to know what this means though.

Yes, but they have no chance of winning. But will have my support for having the courage to actually want something for us.
