I think this is some of the saddest news of the year.
Thinking it and not giving a fuck enough to make it a law are 2 different things.
Here's the game plan
1) Teach kids that white people did nothing wrong, and slavery was just living where you work
2) Teach kids that Black people benefited from slavery and they were the aggressors that got what they deserved
3) Go back to teaching that white people are better than other races and should be the only ones in power to keep america safe
4) Teach kids that black people are better off due to the contributions of white people and should be grateful
What I really wonder about is what will be the straw that breaks the camel's back for black republicans?

If the Republicans win in 2024 we may as well get ready for at least 25 more states besides Florida adopting this same position.
After that ... they will be replacing all of the Confederate statues that got taken down, and re-renaming every place back after Confederate "heroes" and adding the Confederate flag back into the state flags that took it out.
They will be smelling themselves so much that it wouldn't surprise me to see Confederate army marching parades in many states run by Republican Governors as "Heritage Day" or something ... So sit it out if you want because, "both sides suck" but if Republicans win they will see to it that Democrats will never win again and it's game over folks.

My problem with this is the impact it will have on future generations. Leaving the education system the way it is now will not make them rich. I think we both agree on this. The public education system (k through 12) is mostly based on the factory worker system and teaches people to be compliant not wealthy. So yeah, education reform or at least more options are needed.
Teaching them false history that highlights there forefathers oppressors and blames them for being oppressed will keep them poor (mentally and financially).

I was going to state this in the other thread concerning reparations where they were talking about what group xyz got when they CAN'T vote, or how we got civil rights before we could vote, like MLK and those other groups weren't lobbying both dems and the GOP, putting both sides on blast, and most importantly getting both sides to vote for it. I didn't have the energy for it.
Like it or not we have to build a consensus with the public which requires educating the public on the actual harm done and harm continuing to be done to black folk. Otherwise it will be just like it was with the ACA: dems pass it, white folks, including white dems, freak out and either vote GOP or stay home, then the GOP gains power, reverses everything, and dems lose the power to do anything for the next 10 years.
This requires dems to be voted in and REMAIN in power, or everything gets undone. When the GOP gets power they make it harder for dems to make changes and wield power. KY sabotaged so the dem gov has to appoint a dem to congress, it wasnt like that before. After the ACA was passed and dems lost midterms, the GOP in several states limited power of dem gov where they lost the ability to make appointments and oversee certain agencies. When places were taking down confederate statues, one place wrote a law making it illegal to do so. We don't come back to the same level of power, they do their best to diminish it.
The attack on education is the same thing. It has a long end game, and a lot of these heathens are content to let the GOP do whatever they want to "punish" dems, which is harming our own community in the long run. We also need dem appointed judges so there are more than white men making decisions about what happens. We have living descendants of Tulsa just denied justice, and they think it's going to go a certain way when dems can't even get white folks to help other white folks.
Don't forget, Mitch McConnell said electing Obama was reparations for black folk.
