I think facial features are more important than skin color. If you have the flared nostrils, wide flat nose, heavily round face, and extremely large lips, you're going to have a real problem making it in America. Even with dark skin if you have attractive features you have a much better chance.

I see what you're saying, i think it's a cumulative thing. And i think it depends on how where when.
If your playing their game you will NEVER do for self cause that wont even exist IN YOUR MIND. You MIGHT have enough for you to get by ( even be rich ) but you wont even allow your kids to THINK PAST YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. We all know the stats on black spending. We know the music videos and songs are nothing but "lifestyle ads". How can we make a real move towards FOR US, BY US unless we start THINKING that way? If we are using thought processes we used to get by during JIM CROW, how can we expect different results? We are in a global/mobile economy. All that matters is we DO IT.
Another thing, the reason OUR images arent prevelant in Hollywood is because they want to control this reality. You control the light ( images ) and sound on this level and you control peoples minds. Thats really what this is about. CONTROL.

So for the real world situation that they're in. His advice was the best advice to give her. He probably told her don't go into acting. But once she's decided to do it. What do you say then? I just yanked my middle boy out of football. I saw that video of that boy getting his knee destroyed and i'm determined not to have that happen to my baby. I don't want him to play football. I don't want them to do things that will harm them. When he turns 18 and decides, i'm going to go try out for football, i'm just supposed to stop talking to him?
