Denard Robinson: "I could get Usain Bolt in a 40."

Man. I'm never shocked by some of the shit people say here. There was a cat saying he could probably beat Kobe one on one if he shot was dropping...one muthafucka talking about he could probably beat Roy Jones (he was dead serious too).

A local legend from my hometown played Ray Allen and was completed murdered and embarrassed. To US, this guy was the second coming of MJ...

...to Ray Allen, he was nothing.

When I heard about THAT shit, I was spooked. To think THAT dude was completely dominated was a bit surreal.

It'd be like the dude in the neighborhood who was known for his tremendous hand skills getting into a ring with Floyd and getting take apart. Childhood idol crushed.

Shit, I'm still recovering from this cat named Taliek Brown - former UCONN PG, and all-time assist who didn't log one pro minute - taking the nastiest PG in the history of my town apart. We thought this dude was God in basketball shoes. Taliek, at the time, was 16, and toyed with this guy.

Well, it's Denard Robinson, the fastest person at his school, D1 at that. I don't see it is disrespect. Speed is a very arrogant sport.
All this proves is some football players and BGOL members have no respect for the other dudes Usain races against. So what if Bolt is not in the lead in the first part of the race, can these dudes beat Gatlin, Gay, Powell, Blake? As for the start issue, Bolt has "bad starts" relative to the rest of a world class field of sprinters. This is not just talking shit about Bolt, its talking shit about sprinting itself. Before this dude talks about Bolt, he should go race the top sprinter at his college in the 40.
Some of BGOL takes it too far, but let's think about this. When you start talking about fastest in the world, what 9.6, 9.7 right?

Now, when you see these track guys in high school and at these D1 programs runnin' like a 10.1, 10.2 at worst...we are not even talking an entire SECOND!

I mean a ninja that runs a 4.1 is not that far in front of a ninja that runs a 4.5.

So, if you are a world class athlete and speed is a part of your arsenal, just because the ONLY thing that a world class sprinter does is sprint, doesn't mean you can't compete just because you play other sports.

I agree with you %100, but D Rob probably is UM's top sprinter. He was top 5 in the nation in the 100m his Sr. year of HS.
Exactly. This dude has sprinter speed and football speed. Sports coverage is so heavy, it makes it seem like it's not, but that's rare.
A lot of football players ran track in high school, and many of them in college or a lot of the track athletes play football.

Yeah, everybody at my school that was a top athlete did 3 major sports. Speed and agility are a part of most of them. The reason fast guys don't do sprinting, scholarships are partial and unless you go to the Olympics, not as much money in it as the three major sports. You do what exposes you.

I just thought about it. Growing up, whenever a guy was fast, it was always a push for him to play football. Not become a world class sprinter, but find a way to use that speed on a football field. I'm from the South, so, it doesn't surprise me but it shows you how we are programmed.

I remember that shit! :smh::lol:

just think about Jeff Demps from the University of Florida

dude was like the fastest mofo in college when he played

but in track and field, dude was average to slightly above average

hell i think he barely made this Olympic team as an alternate or some shit

bgol will never understand, there is fast then there is world class fast

the usa olympic trials...demps come in next to last place in the finals

and yall think denard has a chance :smh:

But Demps was with the field just before the halfway point and that's what Denard is referring to..

man watch the vid again and pause it after the first 10 to 20 yards (use your eyes as an estimate)

Demps is getting smoked bruh...he isnt with the pack at all

I could beat Halo in a surgical open heart showdown

yea the boxing thread was the funniest.

if i remember one dude was talking about how he had reach a advantage on mayweather or something lol.

bgol.

This is stupid. Bolt was beat by more than half of the other 100m sprinters in the 40.

After 70m, it was curtains. :itsawrap:

Bolt would smoke Robinson in a 40 and so would the other runners in that 100. Those were the fastest men in the world that had a step on Bolt early not some everyday muthafuckas.

World class sprinters are generally not quick. The 40 yard dash is a test to measure quickness.

A lot of us could probably be competitive with Usain in the first 30 yards.

Really?

They train to be the fastest at 100 m.
That means getting every stage of their race as fast as possible...
Including the first 30...

Ask that fool how many stages are there in a 100m and the technique for each phase and what it accomplishes.

Dude has no clue.

Now way anyone from the NFL is beating Bolt at no distance.

Coming out the block alone is a skill.

100-meter-splits.jpg

Bolt: 0-40m = 4.65

However we have to remember that includes reaction time

Wonder what Robinson's reaction time is?

Bolt reaction time is 0.165 s

beat them to death with a metal pipe after the rage from the embarrassment they'd feel after getting their asses whooped while their opponents didn't break a sweat...sure...maybe

man do you see how scary the legal system is with juries?

you can put video evidence right in someones face and they still see whatever they want to see

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

that's why i laughed so hard
it wasn't even close
i mean from go he was just out of it like he started and within the first 5 steps he was done

i think denard is fast
but this comes across as some ole belly i don't like that shit type of situation

denard would get burned and then sent back to the drawing board. in a 40?.... dude they were saying he was covering 40 feet per second  40 feet per second...

So Tyson Gay (who's maybe a step ahead and came 2nd) was also dusted from the beginning? I agree he got left the rest of the race

Cosign.

Most of our best athletes play football basketball or baseball because thats where the money is.
People would be faster at 100m if it was more money in it

you're missing it man.
he was behind from the beginning, and he was at his top speed already... those other runners hadn't even hit the gear yet

bolt through 40 because of his height and the ease he runs would leave anybody on the strength of his start time and his ability to get up there...

this is the thing that is lost i guess...

denard's and whoever else's in the world... top speed for 40 yards isn't as fast as bolts through the same distance...

and then bolt has the ability to reach ANOTHER GEAR which makes him clearly the fastest and faster human being.

through 40 nobody has a shot because he would run that race different. it would be start block let me burst and get up there and you'd be done.

through 100 he gets his start digs through gets his body upright and hits the gear....

all the while you're getting LEFT

bgol says the dumbest shit

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

hell bolt makes 5 million a year from puma alone

im saying they have world championships every year bolt has made what 50 or 100 million since the last olympics and will probably double that after this one...

there's LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of money in it

them dudes just can't cut it

He actually makes 9 million a year from PUMA and is ranked 63 of 100 of richest sport atheletes by Forbes.

Y'all are getting yards and meters confused. 40 meters is about 36.5 yards. 2nd, even when it is electronically timed, 40yd timing starts when the runner starts, while track sprints go on the gun.

But instead of arguing about who would beat who in mythological race, compare what they have done over anactual distance under similar conditions, I.e. a track meet coming out of blocks. Denard's best time in the 60 meters is 6.81 (he didn't even meet the automatic or the provisional qualifications for the NCAA Indoor Championships) while Usain hasbeen timed at 60 meters in 6.31.

I'll agree

I'll second that... "No laces" Denard has quick burst football speed. By trade football players are fast over shorter distance and Bolts starts are average... Doesn't start pulling away til the 50-55 meter mark.

But like Denard said, by 60 meters its a wrap!
