Welfare and other forms of government assurance separated our struggles; minimized ours while prioritizing thee women’s. Yes, it seems like every race/ethnicity has some type of hang up when it comes to appearance. Much is connected with societal perspective.
While it’s true that light skin black historically got more attention when it came to dating preferences; we know what it’s connected to as well. It’s those with the most power (money, political) and influence (media) that set standards and people follow.
Overtime those standards become true for a particular society.
So two things exist for the girl that wrote the article: 1) society’s historical perspective on the beauty of dark skin people and 2) her own insecurities.
A person can easily argue that both points are connected; meaning society is part of the reason for her insecurities, which I can empathize with her on that. However, society will never take responsibility for how a person feels about themselves, so she’ll need to learn how to navigate around society instead of expecting society to change.

She isn't ugly at all, but I DO think she has one of the following: an under bite and an overbite (possibly both at the same time), OR possibly a slightly larger/ protruding lower jaw (mandibular prognathism??). People probably look at her and get a masculine vibe due to her jaw, so she tries to compensate in most of her pictures by doing what she sees all of the other Instahoes doing- weave, parted/ overly glazed lips, low camera angles, etc.

Women are the only ones who can bring life into the world. Its the golden vagina rule. Societies were established because men were fighting for the position of "father" since caveman days. Men are hunter/gatherers, showing our usefulness by providing for the ones who could bring life into the world and continue the bloodline. Its been that way since the dawn of it all, I suppose. Women feel that men who can't provide are useless. Its a survival instinct.
Over time, men developed a code of honor among each other. We agreed not to kill each other at every turn and decided to build a world that provides for everyone all at once, thereby proving our usefulness. Women, on the other hand, had no such code. Most only go along with rules for fear of consequences, not because of "honor" or kinsmanship or anything of the like. They will not ever "return the favor" because...vagina. Now we have built a self-sustaining world (for the most part) and they have decided that we are virtually useless, so they cherry-pick the top percentage of men so much so that they choose not to reproduce rather than to "settle" because of their selfish nature. We have built a world of entitlement for them and ultimately its our fault for making their lives so comfortable with technology.
We have it good in the West. Women have it even better. They want the laws changed to elevate them to "goddess" status where talking to them on the street or looking at them too long would land you in jail. (They already have a 14-second rule in India and a similar one in Paris, so I'm not bullshitting) That is how selective they have become. One big war or natural disaster and all of that changes, but for now, simps run the world and they keep simping for ungrateful bitches. The hard truth is women only care about a man within the context of what he can do for her. We are taught from birth to love and respect women and treat them well. They learn at a very young age to manipulate us without consequences. At one point, there was more of a balance but now, they take a lot for granted. Women will always do whatever they can to elevate their status in life, despite men, kids or whatever.
