It's official: Constantine will appear on DC's Legends of Tomorrow in season 3
After
much speculation, it has been confirmed that Matt Ryan will be back as John Constantine in
DC's Legends of Tomorrow season three.
The character last made an appearance in the
Arrow-verse in 2015 for a one-off in
Arrow.
However, it looks like he will be back for
Legends, according to
Entertainment Weekly, and will do what he does best by
performing an exorcism – though the rest of the plot is unknown.
Ryan originally played the role in 13 episodes of the short-lived NBC show
Constantine, which was cancelled after one series much to the outrage of fans.
However, it looks like the star will now have his work cut out for him as he will also be voicing the character in an upcoming animated series.
Yesterday (October 9), we got a
first look at the CW Seed show with a preview clip, depicting the demon hunter encountering a hoard of demons.
Meanwhile, on the
Legends front, we recently learnt that
Russell Tovey has been cast as gay superhero The Ray for the crossover episodes between the show and
Arrow, Supergirl and
The Flash.
The four-episode storyline, called 'Crisis on Earth-X', is due to air in November, and revolves around the wedding of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton).
DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns on tonight (October 10) on The CW in the US. In the UK, the series airs on Sky1.
