Damon Dash Breakfastclub interview

This is what I was thinking.

Why work for the man while they could pull together the resources and start their own?

Some of our people are in their comfort zones that the thought of crossing over and self independence terrifies them. But you got to understand the damage and fear has been instilled to our people for so long that sometimes its tough making them see the bigger picture. All those black radio DJ's you mentioned have a cult following and anywhere they go listeners will always follow them.

As much as we have a hopeless generation now (our age range) we still have time for the future generation and we have to start investing into the mindset of our children. For instance, black parents could take their children and show them the example of what it means to start saving and have a real banking relationship instead of going into a relationship with the Currency Exchange, that’s going to grow into something significant within say 20 yrs time.

Group economics works with other communities and races I cant see why it cant work with blacks

Because its not easy. Dame told you why. Its easier and far more comfortable for these guys to show up to work and get a nice check than it is to come together and start up a business with their own money and lose all of it.

Why hasn't Lebron started his own shoe line? Or MJ for that matter? You rather put in the work and look over day to day operations or would you rather sit back and collect a 200 million dollar check? That's what these guys face.

I see nothing wrong with it either. But you can't make someone be a boss. You have the talent and you have the boss. Dame doesn't have the talent but he has the desire to be a boss. That hunger. Everyone does not have that. That's what Dame doesn't understand but to his credit he admits it. He admits he doesn't understand how or why someone would work for someone.

Because of the nigga he refuses to answer questions about....JAY Z.

I'm just saying we don't know how or many of these black guys move just because they not in social media or on websites and shit.

And Def Jam didn't put any money up?

This that contradiction shit i'm talking about with Dame. He's full of them.

Contradictions are everywhere. BGOL is supposed to be a PORN board but look we're spending so much time discussing group economics and much more.

The message is still there. We should focus on Separating our differences and work on a common operational type unity when it comes to the Black Group Economics among us.

Nothing wrong with that message.

But what if they don't want to be bosses or own shit or put up their own money to lose it? That's what Dame doesn't seem to really care about. He's filed for bankruptcy and shit and he has no problem losing money. Maybe because he has enough of it or maybe because he's stubborn. I don't know exactly why. Like even his thinking of "Well i'd rather get experience by failing in a business than internships..."...like on one hand you respect it. But I don't think its realistic to expect a guy who has let's say 20,000 in his savings to invest all that shit just to go broke. Like it may work for Dame but not everyone is willing to risk that.

I understand Dame's thinking to an extent. Like Dame would rather make 250,000 by himself than make 50 million and not have full control. For me that's where the conflict comes in. Not Dame's thinking just mine.
Dame is not speaking to cats like that...the people who don't want to be a boss are sheep and are not expected to even understand what he is saying. Dame is speaking to those who want to be Boss's and those kids that are impressionable and can be their own Boss one day which is a good thing.

You're right. As humans we contradict ourselves. But I just feel like the contradictions outweigh the message. Like for every point he makes he's contradicting himself 5 times over.

And even in this interview they act like they were scared to call him out on it. I guess its his persona or whatever. Envy tried but couldn't get a word in. Charlamagne just played his role and shut up and Yee was sitting over there scared.

Dame speaking to anyone who will listen to his shit.

Because I fail to see how spending someone else money is a bad thing. But he makes it out to be evil. I was always taught that was business 101. Always spend other peoples money. Never your own. Dame is far more successful than I am so i'm not even arguing against his opinion on that but I did find that interesting that he doesn't believe in that. That's usually one of the first thing entrepreneurs tell you. Never go broke on your own money.

At the end of the day, collective economic power enables residents in various ethnic enclaves to control the politics and affairs of their communities and beyond/

Fact is, over $1 trillion in spending power for over 50 million Black people in America that is often talked about, strategic economic targeting of where that money is spent is key to progress. But nothing can happen unless people wake up and smell the coffee. Malcolm, Martin, Garvey, Nyerere, Nkurumah had doubters and also had contradictions but they had huge impact with their messages.

What Dame is saying is what HNIC is already doing. He set up BLACK GIRL ONLINE ...when blacks could come and talk shit while posting porn. I'm sure all the membership fees that is getting paid here, HNIC is replicating it within his own black family or business.

Remember this TIME MAGAZINE COVER?

I have two answers for you:

This guys was so so broke that KFC turned to give him a job and now he's worth over $25 BILLION

His name is Jack Man and he is the founder of ALI BABA

right... so where's Dames Ali Baba?

As of right now, him and Jay split up around 15 years ago. He hasn't had a succesful venture since.

So when he gets something else popping, we'll listen to that bullshit

His ego and arrogance is what had made him but it has been his down fall.

Yep. Any "wisdom" he dispenses is covered in bullshit. He is a hard cat to support. Like the previous posters said, everyone is not cutout to be a business owner. There's no need to shit on them. Plus what if you want to get started and not deal with the drug boys? What do you do? Get a funking job save your loot, and increase your knowledge.

That's the flaw in Dames game, other than running his mouth he has no tangible proof of success
since he split with Jay Z. You can't compare this dude to the founders of Facebook and Steve Jobs.
Damn near everyone has a Facebook account or uses apple products in one way or another, but I can't
think of one product dame has on the shelf right now other than that movie he just produced.

Help me out what is he working on now :dunno:

HNIC

Y'all dudes cosigning this guy is just as bad the sheeple buying Creflo Dollar his new jet.

I really enjoyed the interview, dude is super arrogant, but I like people like that. :dunno:

I think he is wrong for clowning people who don't want to own a business or be the boss.
That responsibility is not for everyone. Some people want to get up everyday, go to work,
make a decent living and enjoy their family. There is nothing wrong with that. There is
also nothing wrong with making good money working for a company doing what you enjoy.
His rant toward envy was off the mark in my opinion.

Having said that I have a new respect for this crazy Mofo

HNIC

But at the same time SOMEBODY needs to be stepping up and telling the black community to be more entrepreneurial. So I understood his sentiment... head Negro...

Dames Boss mentality of something most won't get but he know's the value of his talent within the culture.

You might not like his mentality or his approach but neither did most when it came to Steve Jobs.As long as he get's what he want out of whatever it is he's doing, job is well done.Period

He controlled the interview while schooling them and talking down to them at the same time.Envy tried but he was no match.

this the reason he dont wants to talk about jay.

6min
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RQ8gP9WPaT8?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

for dude who HATES talking about other men hates discussing the past and says PAUSE all the damn time he sure keep Jay name in his mouth.

Ask yourself this - would you want to work with Damon Dash? Sift through all he has to offer, would you want to work with the man?

Then ask yourself the same of anyone else? Zuckerburg? Bill Gates? Harvey Weinstein? Steve Jobs? Even Kanye West? Kobe?

The reason people are willing egotistical, arrogant, difficult people is that they know at the end of it all, the end product will be dope. With Dame, truly, what does he have to show for himself? All these various businesses no one has heard about? Dame needs to stop and realize that he is his own worst enemy.

Tell this idiot that he's irrelevant without his links to JayZ. Why would they invite him to the show if Jay wasn't going to be discussed.

i understand where dame is coming from. Its true not everyone can be a leader but what he's trying to do is inspire these brothers and sisters to think that they could be more than what's on the table. And who knows they're probably working for some white owned company or cacs. This is not a ny problem it is a global problem for black people. When we examine the economic condition of blacks in america, and throughout the world, we find one glaring problem—black people do not control their economic resources at the level we should. There are several factors for this.this is primarily due to our mis-education as as people. Whether we want to believe it or not but the fact are out there, in a disproportionate manner, black folks be it in africa or america depend on the european and asian world for food, clothing, shelter etc. More often than not, the european and asian worlds are the producers, processors, distributors, and wholesalers. Black people are the consumers and dame in this case is trying to advocate group economics.
cosign!!

So a black man telling another to think independently and be how own boss is hurting?

Without economic independence tied to the acquisition of political power, Black people in America and Black people everywhere will continue to be the subjects of the whims of other people....

Its amazing to me that people cant see thru this joke of a man. He is making nigga bullshit ghetto steroetypical movies on an iphone and calling it a movie. Where all the genius people who said he was the brains of rocafella lol. He needs to just go be 45 and grow up. Stop saying pause too at his age. Spike Lee dont talk to broke toothless haters. Ty ty got nore money than this clown. Hell i do. Lol. He should ask amil for a loan. Hating on decent working people. Ask him if his momma had a job. He is going to mess around and up on an interview with a telling the truth that the only reason you're up here so we can ask you about jay-z. He has failed at every aspect of business with out jayz . Rachel Roy used him tp get on then left him looking stupid. He hides behind attacking people personally then playing the black business unity card. Nigga please. Lol

The funny thing about Dame and his talks about being a boss and investing in yourself. He never mentions he was able to start Roc-A-Fella off of dope money. If you're living the legit life, it's pretty hard to be a boss and invest in yourself when you have no funds and you have to get a job.

some sugar makes the medicine go down but Dame was serving lemon rind and expecting people to think it's pineapple

At the end of the day no one wants to get yelled at just to get some sage advice

Had to cut it off

The truth is most people don't do that! Most people work just because its easy..You are told what to do and when to do it. That is way easier then creating something and working for yourself! Most people find a good gig that pays decent and stay there because its a comfort zone. Yes I believe that everyone is not meant to be a boss but it really sad when a person will work 30 years for a company that can and will fire them just cause they feel like it. So basically you just gave 30 years of your life away and don't even own part of that company that you were loyal to...its backwards in my mind.

Spoke judging Dame without even listening to him was wrong.

Harvey Weinstein is one of the most powerful JEWS in Hollywood and I'm sure he couldn't just turn his fellow Jew who he could make money with without listening to him.

Spike Lee, Dame and other blacks, who are perceived as arrogant but when whites like these guys below you would see them as genius

Last time I checked Kanye was also perceived as arrogant but not Liam Gallagher who is the epitome of arrogance is seen as genius
