Dame Dash Named Revolt TV Chairman, Unveils ‘My Paid In Full’ Docuseries Trailer
Damon Dash has been named Chairman of REVOLT TV, a position the entrepreneur and executive will helm for the duration of one month.
On Tuesday (Sept. 16), the 54-year-old and the network announced news of the appointment, which is effective immediately, and will see Dash bringing content from his own platform, AmericaNu Network, to REVOLT TV.
In addition to his duties as Chairman, Dash’s partnership with REVOLT TV includes simulcasting 25 episodes of Dash’s podcast, Bosses Take Losses, hosted by the mogul himself.
REVOLT TV will also stream a significant portion of Dash’s catalogue on the platform, including, but not limited to, his forthcoming docuseries, My Paid in Full.
The project will be driven from Dash’s personal perspective of the Paid in Full era and spotlight various figures who were present during the events that were depicted in the 2002 film, which Dash spearheaded.
In conjunction with the announcement of his appointment as Chairman, Dash unveiled the trailer for My Paid in Full, in which he shared what viewers can expect from the series.
“When I made Paid in Full, my intention wasn’t to tell the story of one crew,” the Best Out member says in the short clip.
“Every block had their own pay and full. The block I was from and my own experience is my own Paid in Full. I saw things and I know people that were actually there.
“And everyone else that lived in Harlem around that period of time has their own. And I’m going to showcase everyone’s Paid and Full that I’ve seen actually live the Paid and Full life. This is My Paid and Full.
According to Dash, the first installation of My Paid in Full will be a docuseries that “will introduce the featured characters,” with a scripted series written by Harlem native Michelle Valentine to be released in the future.
REVOLT CEO Detavio Samuels spoke on the network’s partnership with Dash and AmericaNu Network, expressing his respect and admiration for Dash’s track record as a visionary.
“As the CEO of a media company dedicated to Hip Hop culture and the diverse creators and consumers who drive it, it made sense to do business with Dame,” Samuels said in a statement.
“After 30 years, he continues to be a driving force in hip hop and pop culture, and people want to hear what he has to say no matter how they feel about it.”
