I like this Q&A
Help me understand... You said some mailbags ago that Floyd Maywaether didn't really care about cleaning up boxing and that if he did, he would've gone in front of a board -political or state commission- right? Well, if memory serves me right, he tried that already with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and they refused to implement that style of testing in their policy. Fighters know that they are going to get their biggest payday fighting floyd because of his name, his unblemished record , and marketable value so floyd see it like this if you wanna make your biggest payday fighting me then you gotta take the test .He is making a stand for the sport by proving he's clean and not just Manny Pacquiao but all fighters who want to face him have to take it. Now, If they are both going to take the usada then why not use the agency all the way up to the fight. That's bullshit they wanna use them at the end so it will appear that he was clean the whole time, God knows what they are going to be doing over there in the philipines and let's say if he is using something do you really think they would report a positive test result from Manny? if you yes then your full of shit. Promoter Bob Arum has a better chance of bribing another 3rd world doping agency than usada .
What's your take?

Bread’s Response: I heard Keith Kizer the head of the Nevada State Athletic commission say, that Floyd NEVER petitioned them for Olympic Style blood testing. If that has changed, then send me the link or info and I will stand corrected.
I agree Arum does not make things better. But you have to be fair in this situation. Manny Pacquioa is not an American. He lives in the Philippines. He has a right to train in his freaking country. You have to be kidding me to suggest otherwise. He always trains over there. The style of the testing is called Olympic Style. I’m sure they do this testing everywhere in the world. Correct me if I am wrong? So WADA will have to find a suitable tester that’s all, and when Manny comes to the US for his final month of training then USADA takes over. I think that’s an easy fix.
As for Floyd, some of his critics go overboard and some are on point. I still say, that this Olympic Style testing is targeting Manny Pacquioa. Floyd had two years to clean up boxing while he was retired. I never heard of him speaking out on behalf of cleaning up boxing. If you have, please send me the link and I will stand corrected again. When Floyd came back after 2 years off, he fought a man coming up in 2 weight classes. I would assume that all boxers can use PEDs, but PEDs would especially benefit a boxer who has to compete two weight classes higher than his usual weight. Floyd NEVER asked for Olympic Style Blood testing against Juan Manuel Marquez.
Floyd also has a promotional company. I have NEVER heard of fighters on his shows, or fighters who compete for him or against his fighters subjecting themselves to Olympic Style blood testing. Send me the link if I am wrong, I will stand corrected.
The first I heard of these test, is when the negotiations for him to fight Manny PAcquioa began. It’s fine if he believes Pacquioa is on PEDs. He has a right to his opinion. But it’s my opinion and I stand by it, that he is not on a crusade to clean up boxing. Actually it’s nothing wrong with Floyd NOT being on that crusade, it’s just wrong to make it out like that’s what he’s trying to do.
For the record, my actual quote was, “If Floyd really wanted to (box) Manny in, he would have petitioned the NSAC to implement Olympic Style blood testing for their fight. That way if Manny somehow refused to fight in Vegas after they ruled in Floyd’s favor, then Manny would look guilty and I would publicly back Floyd. He should exhaust all of his resources.” I also said that I can’t understand why Floyd didn’t “play” Manny like he did Oscar. Before Oscar signed to fight Floyd, Floyd was very nice to Oscar. After they signed Floyd began to insult Oscar in every which way. He could’ve done the same thing to Manny. He could have stood in front of the world and said that he and PAcquioa were going to set a precedence in boxing with the Olympic Style testing. He would have been the hero.
Instead he insulted Pacquioa, basically implying that he is a cheater. Then after he insults him, he tells him to take the test and prove to him that he is NOT a cheater. So Manny doesn’t comply. If you ask me, Floyd knew that Manny wouldn’t comply. No fighter of Manny’s status would comply. I think Floyd was counterproductive in that aspect in making the fight. If you don’t feel me, then fine, but I know I make sense. Floyd knows how to get a fighter to sign the dotted line. He sure did with Oscar!
