That is not a fact by any stretch of the imagination, especially for me. I don't want to generalize, but in my experience 99% of women who just wanted to be friends with me didn't really want friendship, they wanted a person to summon when they wanted an issue to disappear. They wanted all the benefits of me being their Man but didn't want to provide any of the benefits of them being my Woman. Women know I'm smart so if it isn't a call about how to put songs on the iPod, it's a call about how to fix a computer, or they need a ride, or they need someone to talk to...fuck that...don't call my phone. You see, Women exhibit a different kind of energy and vibe to me that doesn't allow me to hang out with them like I hang out with my homies. If anything, they're right there rolling with us and like to do much of the same things we do. Play video games, music, art exhibits, etc. More often than it it's been good times when we're out.
And I'm not saying cats NEED a fly friend to get at hoes, by no means. But me and my boys have noticed an influx in attention we get when we're all out together.
I think the biggest difference between your friends and mine would be, that we could be out with them & their dude and have no problems. Cats are just laid back that way where we are.
