Cornell West need to face reality

I still wouldn't have voted for Sanders. He only started to get on board with BLM reluctantly. He thinks the answer to everything is wealth and income equality. Rich black folks get stopped by the police all the time. I've posted stories on here that it doesn't matter the wealth of an area, if it is a black area, the citizens are used as atms to fund the city.

man if WE LOVE THE CLINTONS (damn its like THAT??)----Black America is cool with getting shit for love, and we really have no fucking hope. This post shits on the Panthers (WTF), big's up church (without an analysis of how it has divided us and kept us passive--we need the love and power of God, not Christianity/Catholicism), and expecting Sanders to be all Black everything, shit is crazy to me.

All the negatives against Sanders not showing for BLM and other post 60's Black issues, TRUE, but where the fuck were the Clintons in the WHITE HOUSE on any issue pertaining to Black people during Bill's run?? I just don't remember all this prosperity that equated to never ending love.

Shit do Black people even love Obama this much?? Sure hope so, I guess.

I mean Bernie is white?? and lives in Vermont, did they think a Black northeastern democratic socialists was running or something???

Now policy to policy, in the present (well in the primary of course)---whose would more positively IMPROVED Black families, shit was not even close, Sanders. Fuck your love, I and we need POLICY. They both lost, it does not matter.

Shit doesn't matter, I guess, other the fact that Republicans are unified, Democrats are broken and just have not learned a lesson on how to move forward to garner more people to the poles.

I sure hope the democrats can put a candidate up that cares about most of that, and has a record of NOT being a corporate whore just like the Republicans. If they remove one old female corporate whore, with a new face, they will LOSE AGAIN.

This is the new Dem Chair, Perez, when speaking to nurses wanting universal health care. The Dems have a MAJOR party base issue. How can a party speak to its own people this way??? Welp guess it worked for Trump, strong arm the electorate :smh:

He jabbed at a protester: “Put your (expletive) sign down...We’re all for it.”

Nurses heckle Democratic leader, threaten legislators over health care
By Christopher Cadelago and Angela Hart

State Democrats’ three-day convention had a raucous start Friday, as liberal activists booed and heckled Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez after marching from the state Capitol to promote a universal heath care program.

The leader of the nurses’ union that opposed Perez’s recent election had just warned California Democrats that they would put up primary election challengers against lawmakers if they don’t support a bill to create public-funded, universal healthcare.

“They cannot be in denial anymore that this is a movement that can primary them,” RoseAnn DeMoro, executive director of the California Nurses Association, told hundreds of nurses and health care advocates gathered for a rally at the Capitol.

“Vote them out,” the crowd chanted back, referring to Democrats in the Legislature wavering on whether to support their cause.

As California Democrats kicked off their weekend convention here with a cocktail reception featuring trays of scallion pancakes with Hoisin sauce and red grapes rolled in blue cheese and coated in pistachios, the throng advocating for a statewide publicly funded, universal health care system snaked down a staircase behind Perez, shouting down his calls for unity.

“This gathering kind of reminds me of Thanksgiving dinner at my house with my extended family,” Perez said, trying to lighten the mood.

As Perez launched into a riff about shared party values, California Democratic Party John Burton told activists he backed universal healthcare before many of them were born, in 1998. He jabbed at a protester: “Put your (expletive) sign down...We’re all for it.”

“We make sure that healthcare is a right for everyone,” Perez said. “And not a privilege for a few.”

The showdown over health care exposed deep rifts within the party that may have scabbed over, but have not healed, since last year’s primary fight between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, a favorite of the nurses union, which also backed Perez’s opponent in the chair’s race, Rep. Keith Ellison.

Sanders has called for a national single-payer system, and earlier this month called on Californians to adopt the model at a speech in Los Angeles.

DeMoro argued the Republican health care bill that passed the House has generated anger and fear among people from across the political spectrum, and many have turned their attention to the issue of health care because they fear losing coverage. Lawmakers have expressed skepticism over its projected steep cost.

“There’s been a seismic shift because of Donald Trump,” she said in an interview.

Perez, in his brief remarks to delegates, sought common ground over their shared anger toward Trump.

“We have a president .... I don’t know who it is, Putin, or Trump,” Perez said. ‘They’re in a bromance. This is really weird.”

West Been Kinda losing it since 06

Its been a slow process but Look at his earlier speeches and writings

Its either that or the fame got him slipping

Some of these folks support Hillary and Bill Clinton with fervor that only cultists could muster.

Peace,

So you instead support the woman who literally trotted out the mothers of murdered black people in the most cynical, disgusting display of political pandering that I've ever seen in my life?

The mothers of the movement were there voluntarily. I understand why some would have issue with the optics, but if Hillary had won, she wouldn't be trying to roll back the consent decrees like Trump is. She actually had plans she wanted to implement for the black community. He would have a strong DOJ civil rights division. Bernie wouldn't have been as bad as Trump, but since he doesn't see race as an underlying issue to anything, so he wouldn't have been progressive on our behalf. Hillary actually believed in helping black folks. Bernie only got on that bandwagon because he was nagged into it. I remember the personal stories from black people and (black and white) women about how Hillary had helped them in the past, when there was no opportunity for a photo op. She and Bill have a strong following for a reason.

Are they perfect? No. I remember the racial dog whistles they resorted to when running against Obama. He got past it tho and I don't expect white folks to be perfect allies. They all grow up with anti-black propaganda. People can grow and change though, and Hillary got better in time. I saw clips of Bernie back when there was an issue about dumping waste in a poor community in Tx. He was just as dismissive back then as he was now. He also comes from a state with 3% black folks. The black people there say he is no great ally and they have high incarceration rates for black folks.

How exactly was the election stolen and why didn't' Sanders run as an independent (maybe you should be a little more outraged about that)?
If Sanders would have ran, Hillary would have gotten clobbered by Trump. So, they had to get Sanders in the race with the Dems. would have been like this:
Example 40% Trump 35% Hillary 25% Sanders

Cornell wants to sit on the sideline and hold the higher ground. Like a true academic. One has to choose A or B. A complete dumpster fire or a politician without a clear identity. The adult decision is to choose the one that will do you least harm. This choice was never about the best choice. Sitting out on difficult decisions is a cowards answer

Peace,

Whether Hillary was a better choice than Trump is immaterial. And unquestionable. West's argument is that Dems chose an inferior candidate when there was an obvious and better choice. Instead of admitting this, they're blaming those people who didn't actively and vocally support her and/or who didn't vote for her. How is this even debatable?

True.

Sanders got  "Russia'd", but they won't say shit about that.

Maher asked West about a police case, but why did BLM have to form under democratic leadership? School lunches were the pet project, not police brutality that has last for centuries. FOH.

And then on the show they were wanting Pence to be president?!?!?!

Republicans are in a win/win. If they get rid of Trump, they never liked him. They get Pence or Ryan. If they don't, he walks on eggshells and does what he wants. He isn't the Trump that hijacked their party.

She didn't get that name crooked hillary for nothing, she earned it. she probably would have stolen from the black community like she stole from the people of haiti.

Some people are too emotional for their own good.

Lots of Republicans hated (hell, still hate) Trump.

But when it came time to vote, they voted for him to get the Supreme court seat. They know THAT was the real prize in this election.

Dems couldn't get pass their sensibilities and now have to live with 30 years of 5-4 conservative decisions.

Peace,

If she was the best choice, she would have beaten Trump, the most inept and inexperienced presidential finalist in modern political history.

More inexperienced than Trump? The woman has head multiple offices. Appointed and elected. How much more experience did she need?

That's exactly what I was saying. She had all of these qualifications and she lost to a total clown. Why is that? Because she was an absolutely terrible candidate. She was the most tainted, polarizing Democrat that they could have foisted upon the American electorate. She and her husband had been the subject of a decades-long smear campaign by the Republican noise machine. Everyone already had their minds made up about her. Surely the Dems knew this. Still, they rammed her down the throats of voters and gave the country over to the most dangerous person we've had in the office in modern times. The fact that you cats still can't admit this is both incredible and very revealing to me.

You have to understand She was the safe bet. She was middle of the road left-leaning politician. While Bernie was seen as a wild radical crazed leftist that would have pushed the country further to the left in a drastic way. The Right (and trust me I listen to some of their media) had already started ratcheting up their attacks on him as the "Ultimate Communist/socialist". He had baggage as well. His history and story wasn't clean and he was an easy attack. The dude was vulnerable as shit. The DNC went on a safe bet. I agree with that "Safe bet".

Bernie's message was a message of "Fiscal reconciliation" not "racial reconciliation" it's the reason that white people with dreads and flip-flops loved him. He was attacking the corporations as the REAL villains that was keeping white people poor - BUT- ignoring the system of racism that black people have always dealt with. It's the reason he campaigned in WHITE LIBERAL areas forever and didn't go to BLACK people until very, VERY late in the game. It's the reason his white followers were lashing out at blacks during the campaign, because they didn't CARE about RACIAL inequality they cared about FINANCIAL INEQUALITY. They were mad that they went to college and were still living with their parents, saddled with debt and working at Starbucks but FUCK the fact that they wouldn't even let us work at Starbucks.

As long as people on the left have a "Purety test" in order to be the head of a party, we WILL continue to lose. Like someone else said, Trump is a fucking mess, a bumbling, contradictory retard of a man. But guess what? When it came time to vote, the Republicans locked arms and said "We are all in". The Dems started chasing their tales and arguing amongst themselves. Republicans will stick together no matter what. Dems will argue themselves out of an election.

*and lets not forget, the Dems have another thing working against them. Our mixture of Demographics have the WORST turn out during any election. Mid-terms especially. The Republicans have the "Media Arm" working 24/7 inside households and playing in hotel lobbies across America - FOX NEWS and TALK RADIO. Brainwashing generations to think as they do. When it's time to vote, they VOTE. When it's time for us to vote? We argue and don't show up.

**Bottom line is THIS - Politics is a LONG GAME...you move sometimes in yards and sometimes in inches, but for some of ya'll if you can't have a YARD, you'd rather just quit the game.

Yep you hit the nail on the head some of Bernie Sanders supporters should have looked at the big picture

A Sunday morning amen.

So you think Hillary would have appointed someone like Jeff Sessions as the US Attorney General who's wants to have mandatory minimums, as well as shut down the civil rights division? Do you think Hillary would have appointed a Judge like Goruch?
If so, then you are being dishonest, and shortsighted.

:bravo:

Sanders was a afraid to run as an independent for the president of the USA. Instead he choice to run under the democratic party banner. Now he's right back to being and independent.
This is a stupid argument. If he had run as an independent and split the vote, Trump would still be president because Dems would have voted for Hillary and ya'll would be blaming Sanders for Trump instead of Comey, like you blame Ralph Nader for Bush
