Answer: I would raise the tax on the rich, help out the hood, get rid of all the cops and open up programs for the youth..
Next question: What if big businesses start to move out of New York due to the high taxes?
Answer: Fuck their asses nobody wants them any way..
Next question: where will you raise your revenue to support your programs..

It's not an easy solution, but that's what we have to do. A lot of these kids out here feel abandoned and worthless. They in turn hand that trauma down to their children. It's vicious cycle.

Before I started doing my thing with kids they had no idea they could go to a trade school or do an apprenticeship or work somewhere and make 80k that doesn't involve you getting into UC Berkeley and going into debt 100k IF your grades were good enough to be accepted.

That's the tough part. Compared to what they are currently going thru, it's a prison either way. Something heavy is necessary to deter that level of violence.
Programs, resources, etc are fine and necessary, but the changes could take years. I'm sure they'd prefer that the shooting/killing stop now and they can work on everything else in the meantime.

Im with you, bro.. i went thru a trade school and apprenticeship program. And i pulled in 110k a yr and couldve made more if i worked all the OT.. How do you expose the trades to these young kats?? Its like there hiding the trades from these kids..
