Charlie Strong Fired after 31-9 loss to TCU

Now that they are saying Tom Herman is going to LSU, Texas looks stupid as hell. They might as well go ahead and fire him. What kind of recruits are they going to get knowing he is only going to be there another year? He was like their 5th choice when they hired him and it never seemed like he had any real support from the program. They are quickly becoming a national joke.

That or maybe they want to show whitey they can get the young niggas in line and be good ol boys :dunno:

Not always the case and I'm not saying it is here but I'm just saying

The media and white fans love the idea of someone getting black athletes "in line".The "Disciplinarian" angle is far more common with black coaches than "The Guru" or "Young Genius" angles. Here in the Bay, the main story about Singletary was him checking Vernon Davis.Dude was a horrible coach but the media LOVED reporting him disciplining players.Let a Black Head Coach start "disciplining white players and see the difference.

Yeah I feel bad for the brotha but I think he messed up like most black coaches. We are always trying to "Win the right way" while CAC coaches cheat
Yeah, fuck all that. Tell the parents what they want to hear, but start out winning, then make adjustments as you go.

Strong may never get another head coaching job.
I hope this isnt the case. That Texas job is highly overrated and to be honest they never really wanted him to succeed there anyway. That wasnt the job for him. To be honest that job isnt for any one who cant step in the door and tell them boosters and hangers on to fuck off. This Herman dude may fare better, but I dont see him ultimately succeeding until the culture around that program changes. Theyll never do it, but they need to lose this idea that Texas is Alabama, when theyre really closer to Michigan status. Lots of tradition, but not enough titles to warrant their attitudes.
