Well there up to their old tricks. Son's of biches![]()
The Kentucky and Georgia situations are different in my opinion. We all know the Governor of Georgia is not interested in fair elections and will do what is necessary to prevent the black vote.
The Governor of Kentucky is a Dem who couldn't have won his seat without Black and progressive voter turnout. He is however, very cautious on letting Corona virus run wild in Kentucky compared to surrounding republican led states. As a result he asked the each county in the Kentucky to come up with a plan that would allow in person voting but limit spread of the disease. Every county has reduced the number of polling places to single digits (most less than 3).
In Jefferson County, (the biggest county) in person voting for tomorrows primary is restricted to one location the Jefferson County fair grounds which is probably the best location for it. You could also vote in person at the County Election center up until 4pm today. They also sent out ballots by mail to registered voters who requested it. They've communicated this via news, email, social media and daily press briefings so people can't say they didn't know.
They are running free public transportation (with Covid measures in place) to the fairgrounds from all the Black population centers (West End, South End) to the fairgrounds for free tomorrow.
I don't know if the fairground thing will work out. It may be a fail like Georgia in terms of long waits, but I do know it won't be from an attempt to intentionally suppress the Black vote.
I got my mail in ballot (as well as my sons) after just a week of requesting it. Many others have as well. Putting our is the mail today.
