Capone of (CNN) Arrested For Failing To Pay Over 160K Child Support

Capone was arrested yesterday on charges of child-support evasion after failing to fork over $160,000 dating back to 2004.

According to NY Post, the rapper, best known as N.O.R.E.'s partner-in-rhyme in C-N-N, was released on a $10,000 personal-recognizance bond, and must pay $1,500 a month until his 12-year-old daughter turns 21. Prosecutors claim that the emcee has only made three payments in eight years, amounting to $144.

“It is what it is,” he said outside of court yesterday. “I know it looks bad on paper, but I take care of my daughter.”

He probably should go back and get a reduced payment.

He is only 50% of a group that went gold just once. I am going to go with the strong guess that he is not a college grad, so his earning potential is not great outside of hip-hop.

He's making enough to pay more than $140 over 8 years and that was in three payments.

If his money is thinner than before, he should have long gone back and asked for a reduction but even if he gets it, he's on the hook for that 160k.

Not that he was paying anyway, but this will severely limit his earning power. An attorney may be able get the court to allow travel to other states and maybe even overseas travel for shows, provided they can prove there is a significant demand for his services.

I'm not sure if CNN has enough material to headline shows and who knows if NORE would even want to go do shows.

If he can show he's traveling to earn a living and pay on his support order, it would be easy to get a judge to allow that.
If Noreaga is up for doing shows, there's money for a CNN reunion tour, just not as headliners. They could easily fit in under some of the Wu guys or any older NY act. Kid N Play and Naughty By Nature were touring together for a minute and Hammer and Vanilla Ice were doing shows together for a while.
What's the point of having any hits if you can't keep making money off them?

And if he wasn't making money like that he could have got it reduced but they will only reduce from the date you file a modification.

If he didn't say anything then those arrears keep growing.

Can't jump to conclusions just because the prosecution claims something. For all we know he could have been doing the dummy move and giving the chick cash without documenting it.

Gotta document your transactions, pay by check or money order (keep the stub) and keep all of your receipts if you're not paying through the courts.

If he can't document it didn't happen.

ANd unless he really stupid he would know that anything he does outside the court order is on him and extra.

If the court didn't recieve it he didn't pay it... plus he piad three times so he knows where it was supposed to go.

but if you have a court order, do it that way, it's hard to get any credit for money you gave outside the order even with receipts.
