it's the fact that it's not their personal problem. for example i may create a post about too many single black mothers in this country. a female member may respond negatively in that post with the "i don't have kids and none of my friends have kids" all the while her number of friends may be 4-5 women without kids while the ratio may be for every single black women without a child 15 single black women do have a child. Just because they may not deal with it doesn't mean others are not.

When I said personal problem, I was speaking in reference to the fact that some of the women feel that men are "women haters" because of the content of their posts, feeling that men are bashing women or talking bad to them when it couldn't be any further from the truth.

My comments have nothing to do with a specific thread or incident like you are referring to. Just a specific personality trait (or flaw) some of them possess.

Some are gonna dislike me for this but I have to agree with Da Don on the reading comprehension. Emotions are never a great way to come forth with your point when dealing in a debate that's based on logic. Just because you may not fit in the category that's being discussed doesn't mean that you have to chime in with something negative or a statement disputing what's been posted. Oh, and I'm SURE in your (talking to all women and men) vast experiences on this planet, you've encountered people that the thread is focusing on. That attitude of, "It ain't me so why are we talking about this" shouldn't even manifest.

Lastly, the thought process of some individuals on this board needs to be examined and tweeked a bit, because it doesn't make sense. An example of this would be, "1) The thread starter posts something I don't like, 2) Other women on the board don't like what he posted, 3) The people that have disagreed with the starter of the thread are women, 4) Therefore the thread starter is a woman-hater!" This type of thought process is tautology, better known as circular thinking...which is false thinking.

I don't feel there's that much woman bashing within this forum. Yeah there have been unnecessary remarks but it's not like the board or the women are under constant attack.

There have been some really hot topics discussed and yes there have been some who crossed the line. Those who did were dealt with. But this forum has much more interesting topics dealing more with life matters and that makes very different.

Ladies like it or not without the mens input this board this board would be dead. Seems close to 50% of the threads here are started by men. Are all the threads in good taste or appropiate for a woman's forum? No! But this is still a porn board, so its allowed. Is there teasing and baiting going on? Yes! Have there been misunderstandings? Yes and there will be more. But I don't think SOL is being bombarded by misogynist. There are some but I think the number is very small.

Bigirl maybe you just locked in on a few threads or responses that just rubbed you the wrong way.

Izayoi, it does get tiresome and it needs to be put in check. Not by the mods but everyone who's guilty of doing it. Its not needed and its childish.

I'm curious as to why so many women checked in but so few are active. But the board seems to be a success.

Also some may have become disillusioned expecting something different of SOL but walking away from it won't change it. The answer is to be more active and help mold it into something that works for you. The board can stand more input and fresh ideas.

Oh I'm very much aware of the subtle snyde remarks made on both boards. All I'm saying is its not wide spread on SOL. I also said in my initial response that, there are some (meaning offenders) but I though the number is very small. I still do believe the number is small. I am not saying Bigirl was entirely wrong because she is not, they are out there.

When you take the time to make a thread addressing these people it opens the door for more of the same type remarks. Ignoring them is the quickest way to get rid of them. Give them no feedback and they will leave.
