The Bulls on Tuesday announced several changes to Jim Boylen’s coaching staff, including the resignation of veteran assistant Randy Brown.

Assistant coach Nate Loenser, in his second season with the team, was promoted to the bench. Director of player development Shawn Respert will also become an assistant bench coach.

NBA coaching veteran Dean Cooper joins the staff after starting the season with the team’s G League affiliate. Loenser was head coach of the Windy City Bulls during the team’s inaugural season in 2016-17.

Respert most recently served as the Bulls’ director of player development since the start of last season. He spent four seasons as a Rockets assistant from 2008-11.

To say Jim Boylen has had a tough first week as the Bulls head coach would be an understatement akin to saying Michael Jordan was a pretty good player.

Now comes a report from Yahoo Sports that Bulls players contacted the National Basketball Players Association on Sunday to complain about Boylen. One specific complaint cited, according to the report, is that Boylen scheduled a practice for Sunday, after the Bulls had played back-to-back games Friday and Saturday nights — a departure from accepted NBA norms.

Players are also reportedly miffed that Boylen held three lengthy practices his first week. Citing the team's lack of conditioning, Boylen made players do extra wind sprints and military-style pushups. Some players also say Boylen is treating them like a youth basketball team, trying to drum up enthusiasm on the bench.

if the shit about them not wanting to practice after that 56 pt L, them dudes need to go, I've heard Lauri and Lopez said naw we need to go to practice, our best young prospect got his mind right...only silver lining with this bs ass circus garpax created with jerry's blessing

Its a fucking mess. Amazed that Paxton and Gar are still safe. Also....players not feeling Boylen. its amazing how bad we look vs other bad teams. closing statements after the season is done will be interesting

109 - 146.... :smh: these cats ain't even competitive. In 2 games with Golden State they've given up a total of 295 points....295...what the fuck man....

GarPax and Boylen need to go. He's a pathetic coach. Slowing up games when you have this group of players talking about fundamentals. Running the offense thru Robin Lopez post ups is fundamentally stupid. And after seeing GarPax do such stupid things as including a 1rst when trading a Top 15 player in the league, giving up 2 picks for Doug McDermott and trading multiple players including McDermott for Cameron Payne who had been injured I don't know if they should be trusted with drafting(which they've had some success in and also fucked up) or picking a new coach which they continually screw up. This organization isn't going to get free agents with these fools around and current players probably wouldn't want to resign either.

So the Bulls traded Bobby Portis and Jabari Paker for Otto Porter?

Time for a shakeup in management, the Gar-Pax regime has ran it's course. At this point it does not matter if the Bulls do luck up on Zion or Barrett as long as management is shit, they will not grow to their full potential. My hometown team has no plan or direction. It is time for a new set of eyes in Chicago. I will miss Portis because he always played with an edge.

I almost don't want to banish Zion to the wasteland that is currently the Bulls. I'm a fan and have been for decades but they're making it real hard for me to be a fan. And I agree about the lack of direction or plan but that goes back pretty much to the moment that they signed Rondo.

Actually for me it goes back to the lock out season of 99'. Tight jew Reinsdorf did not want to pay Jordan and Phil. Ever since then all top flight free agents shunned the Bulls. If they could play Jordan and Phil like that than anyone can get played. Then they lucked up on DRose and then discarded him when he got injured. The Bulls are a hot mess and they only want people in the organization who makes things comfortable and drama free for the higher ups. That is no way to get better as a team. At this point I almost want to see a second team come to Chicago.
