BREAKING: Henry Cavil OUT as Superman

this dude hasn’t turned in a performance of note yet in a film...I thought he’d be able to make the jump from tv to movies but his roles have been pretty bland...bryan cranston on the other hand shocked me...I didn’t think he could successfully make the transition but he’s done so pretty well

I agree. He looks out of place in movies. I guess because of how well he played Draper, it's hard to see him as anyone else. I am interested in seeing El Royale though.

never heard of this...just seen the trailer...looks real stylized...I’m curious to see reviews tho...trailer doesn’t really draw me in

He did this on purpose. Man DC losing on the big screen. I think he did ok but all that brooding and dark shit wasn't Superman. Superman is the worlds biggest boyscout, that's his hook. Period

even though i loved man of steel these niggaz will always be on my shit list for taking away the theme song. fuck em

The MAIN Problem with all of this is that Warner Bros. Movie Division is full of nothing but bean counters.
Not REAL fans.

Kevin Feige of MARVEL Studios is a REAL Fan.
And had a long-term vision for the Comics' properties.
One he got the okay from Avi Arad, shit was a wrap.

WB/DC needs a FAN with vision to run its film division.
Johns and Lee, I'm sorry to say may not be able to get it done.
They need to get all those Animation Division guys together.
And allow them to play.

Fuck caville..he always look angry n shit.
That stupid mustache he had for another movie that they had to remove digitally pissed me off too.i don't like him as Superman and he won't be missed by me.

In another note I hope they recast flash or change the suit or something.cause he looked like a fag in the last movie and had some weird poses that had me and my girl going wtf?

*insert "Meanwhile, over at Marvel" pic here*

Personally... I wouldn't want Michael B to take on Superman... Why put that pressure on the kid. DC is already in a Free fall and the Backlash over this would be crazy... Plus.. How the fuck would you even attempt to explain this if you did decide to do a Justice League.

If they were smart they would book him as John Stewart... Make him the Definitive Green Lantern in this Universe and take home their money.

You don't need him as Superman.

Be Smart.. Look at what Marvel did turning C-List hero IRON MAN into a A-lister Megastar.

Do the same with John Stewart and the Green Lantern Core. You have that shit.. fucking sitting in your back pocket collecting fucking dust.

They still trying to get Tom Cruise as Hal Jordan..maybe if they could have him as the mentor role to MBJ's John Sewart :dunno:

DC is about to be in the same position with her and will have to Reboot Wonder Woman.
Gadot's and Jason Momoa's contracts will be up after their respective films.. you know if Aquaman bombs(and im pretty sure it will) Momoa will say "Deuces."

Who knows how long Affleck will be in rehab...DC better just call Hamm on up,get him a gym membership and say"Well what you waiting on? Get to work muhfucka!" :roflmao2:

Based on the little info ive seen, I kinda blame Cavil more on this one. Apparently he was scheduled for a Shazaam Cameo but had unrealistic salary demands. Shit went all down hill from there.

Dude has a franchise on his back but got greedy over a cameo and ended up killing his golden goose. He may regret this one more than WB.

Can't Blame Cavil...

DC wasn't willing to commit on a long term plan.

Plus this THE WITCHER TV Series.... is going to be Fucking HUGE...

WB is going to regret this..

0:35 mark on

I want to...NEEED TO believe that is what Zack Synder was trying to do with the character.

I loved Man of Steel and respect BvsS if for nothing else but it's courage to attempt to show Kal-El as a troubled character wrestling with with his place in the world.

Man of Steel didn't sell lunch boxes and BvsS was a colossal mess.

FUCK JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!

*two cents*

After B vs S I don't blame dude for looking toward the door and I would have left half way through the filming of Justice League my damn self.

Dude didn't have a Choice.. He was contractually obligated to keep the Mustache. It's not dude's fault that WB demanded tons of reshoots well after principal photography was over.

To be REALLY REALLY REALLY REAL HERE..

Kat's really only actually saw him Play.... a Full Version of Superman once.

BVS and Justice League.... Were edited down so much and changed... that it's hard to even tell what the true design of Superman was supposed to be.

Dude had like 15 to 20 minutes of Clark Kent scenes completely erased from the Theatrical version of BVS and there were tons of Shit deleted in Justice League.

1000% cosign bro.
:bravo:

But I think people completely overlook the main problem with Cavill's portrayal of Superman in the 3 films he's been in.
zack_primary.jpg

Zack Snyder.

But he's NOT solely responsible for this travesty.
There was also these douche bags to blame as well:
Writers
david_s_goyer_607206.jpg
David S Goyer and
Chris-Terrio__121130041858-200x254.jpg
Chris Terrio.
They are also just as responsible for the dark, gloomy, ultra violent and depressing versions of these otherwise bright, uplifting and beloved characters:

But the True blame goes to

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Warner Bros.

As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Warner Bros., Kevin Tsujihara oversees worldwide operations, including the production, marketing and distribution of film, television and video games, for one of the most innovative and successful entertainment companies in the world. Combining a strong entrepreneurial spirit with the resources of a storied Hollywood studio, Tsujihara is focused on making Warner Bros. technologically innovative, astute and nimble in a rapidly evolving marketplace, while honoring its almost-100-year history.

Warner Bros., a WarnerMedia company, is a global leader in every type of entertainment and their related businesses, across all current and emerging media and platforms. Under Tsujihara’s leadership, Warner Bros. is the only studio with leading positions in film, television and videogames, as well as highly successful home entertainment and consumer products divisions. Warner Bros. is also home to DC Entertainment, creator of the world’s most popular and valuable superheroes. Tsujihara identified DC as a priority when he became CEO, and today, DC’s characters and stories drive every business in which the Studio operates, generating billions in revenue. Reflecting the Studio’s global perspective, Tsujihara has also made diversity and inclusion a companywide business imperative, working to create a workforce and a roster of film, TV and digital content that reflect the diverse global audience Warner Bros. serves.

Under Tsujihara’s leadership, Warner Bros. had its most profitable year ever in 2017, driven by outstanding performance across the company, including its television, film, videogame and consumer products operations. These results follow record success and profitability in both 2015 and 2016.

Tsujihara has been at the Studio for 24 years. Prior to serving as CEO, he was President of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, which included home video, digital distribution, video games, anti-piracy and emerging technology operations, a post he assumed at WBHE’s founding in October 2005. At WBHE, he helped lead the company through the first wave of the digital transition, was a decisive and unifying voice across the industry in ushering in the Blu-ray format and established new digital delivery platforms and business models. Meanwhile, as other film studios were exiting the games business, he saw a huge opportunity. Tsujihara managed talent, assets and growth through acquisitions to create Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the only studio-based videogame company in the industry, which is now top-ranked and has revenues exceeding $1 billion annually.

Previous to WBHE, Tsujihara served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Business Development & Strategy, Warner Bros. Entertainment and, before that, Executive Vice President, New Media, responsible for the oversight of all Warner Bros.’ new media endeavors. He joined Warner Bros. in 1994 as Director, Special Projects, Finance. He later went on to assist in the management of the company’s interest in Six Flags.

Tsujihara received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and his MBA from Stanford University.

In addition to his professional commitments, Tsujihara sits on the Board of Directors for the MPAA and the board of LA 2028, the committee overseeing Los Angeles’ bid to host the 2028 Olympic games. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the AFI and the MPTF Foundation Board of Governors and serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council and the USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) Board of Councilors. He is a member of AMPAS, BAFTA and the Los Angeles Coalition for the Economy & Jobs.

I don't blame them, last time they had to cgi his face because he didn't want to shave for some other movie now he is having scheduling conflicts? They need to blacklist his ass.

Why do people continue to say this...

"Justice League's Man of Steel had expected to be able to finish shooting the sixth Mission: Impossible film before needing to don Superman's spandex again. That has not been the case, however, as the new scenes that are being shot have required him to jump back and forth from each production. Because of this, a mustache he grew for his character in the Mission: Impossible sequel will have to be digitally removed in post-production. Paramount, which is distributing the Mission: Impossible sequel, would not allow Cavill to shave the facial hair while production was taking place."

Dude did not have a Choice... Paramount wasn't going to allow. Warner Brothers is lucky... That Paramount even allowed dude to leave production of Mission Impossible to film the reshoots.

Ben Affleck out as DC’s Batman following Henry Cavill’s rumored Superman exit

Ben Affleck is hanging up the cape, according to a report that the actor is leaving the Batman franchise.

Affleck’s exit comes on the heels of another departure from the DC universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which claims Henry Cavill will no longer be Superman.

However, Cavill’s agent, Dany Garcia, tweeted that the actor isn’t quitting Superman.

Affleck’s departure from Batman is causing a stir on social media from fans of the Warner Bros. franchises, eager to know who will star in the forthcoming Batman movie from director Matt Reeves.

“The DC extended universe is an utter mess right now,” wrote one user on Twitter.

Studio insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that execs want to hit a “reset” button on their superhero films. At a recent investor conference, new WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey said, “Some of our franchises, in particular at DC, we all think we can do better.”

According to Deadline, the studio is considering Michael B. Jordan, who starred in Marvel’s “Black Panther,” to play Superman.

In August, Page Six reported Affleck was headed to rehab after an intervention by his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
