6. The Hunters - was the second story that made me go, "yeah, we've got some semi-pros in here." It made me sad that The Hunters didn't get more votes. The descriptions were fucking excellent. Instead describing small shit or tons of purple prose, he'd give little bits of backstory that came from the protagonist's perspective. [paraphrasing]"Girls usually don't go hunting and prefer nature from afar"...or how he described 'dropping the grass like the golfers do'.
Son.
There were times I was thinking that a couple of touch-ups here and there and this shit here could be submitted into sci-fi/horror anthologies. A BGOL anthology might not be such a bad idea, but in the meantime, I suggest some of you cats holler at Brandon Massey and Tananrive Due.
Anyway, as pure technique goes, this was my favorite. It wasn't as effortless as Masternation, but it was extremely well-written.
I really want to see more from this writer, and if you're on the fence about doing this professionally - don't be. Write more.
I know slick. It's all love. I know anytime someone post anything more than a few sentences Colin Powell is going to come out, I expect it.
It's a BGOL tradition. There used to be a thread with just tons and tons of Colin Powell pictures and gifs. There was one with the Eagles player running with a book under his arm like a football![]()
Oh my God I love y'all mughfuckers. I didn't know where to find it. I didn't even know where to look. I don't know how you found it, but God damn that shit funny
It took me a long time to get comfortable writing dialogue. As you know you got to literally speak from different voices like different places in your own head and have an actual conversation that two people or a group of people would have. Our own Tom Clancy…..keep it up. title definitely grabs attention as do the dialogues
This thread has some good info in it - https://www.bgol.us/forum/threads/any-screenwriters-on-the-board.287804/I also have short story/prologues to books I’m writing. Would be nice if we have a section for aspiring writers so we could help each other out…or at least a stickied thread.
this honorably discharged veteran thinks...
Nah, slick. I just thought I'd share it with the group. The concept is actually realistic if you think about it.
Plus, I no we got some veterans around this place and they could probably feel it more than the civilians can, but with the concept, even as a billion can dig this.
I know it's kind of long per se, so I can understand the Colin Powell references, but I like to add stuff like this to the board. I learned a lot about how to write just from writing on here, sharing on here
I am an honorably discharged veteran as well, and if I had fingers for every time the military lied to me I would definitely be out of fingers.this honorably discharged veteran thinks...

Great story! Interesting to read it from a Marines point if view.
I would follow this story.
