Can't wait for your update 404 for 2008!!!:D:yes: Oh and e if you see this post, what are the chances of meeting/encountering women from other Latin American/Caribbean countries in Brazil? I know its a hotspot for tourists from North America and Europe, but what about meeting say fine chicks from Dom. Rep., Cuba, Colombia etc;?Just curious.

i will do a 404 sometime this year...soon.

I actually don't think I've ever run into any women from the caribbean here. You will meet women from bordering countries often though..especially in rio.

great post man, enjoyed reading it, ive been thinking about visiting brazil for awhile. i wish those pics still worked =/. peace brah

I am planning my trip down there now and reading this post was insightful. My question is about how much money should I expect to spend with the hotel, women, flight... etc?
I am planning on staying for like 6 days.

I was in Rio at the end of November...Too bad I didn't find this earlier!
What he said is pretty on point, though.
The big difference I saw was in real estate... my apartment in Ipanema was R$1400 for a month and it was going to jump to R$2800 in December and January! There were cheaper places in Copa but that shit is too fucked up for me... Just too many shady bastards running around there.
Oh yeah, LAUNDRY!... yo that shit is a crazy rip-off! They charge you by the ITEM!... I spent almost R$75 for one bag! Later, some of the girls I met showed me how to wash clothes in the sink ;)

Culturally, I can't add much... girls were mad cool about giving numbers and hooking up.(cell phone system is really fucked up tho. I never really figured it out. Different carriers have different rates  you never know when your call is going to drop)
One technique I picked up was to take em for a walk... before their shift at the restaurant or whatever... You just stroll on the boardwalk and chat. They never asked for $$$ or food or whatever.
U GOTTA learn portuguese, though. I used Rosetta Stone and that helped a lot.

I´m gonna write one. Things have changed the last couple of years man...especially on prices because of the value of the U.S. dollar has dropped.

My dude I don't care, I am going to still try to make it down there. Just write the flaming thing already, warts and all.:D:D

Bump

Eewwll, i'll be in Sao Paulo in late October - early November. Do you have any suggestions or links? Thanks in advance.

I got you Blaq...give me a couple of days and I'll post something in this thread

eewwll,

i saved this thread when you wrote it two years ago because i knew it would come in handy somday. i just got back from a deployment and planning a trip to brazil sometime early next year. i see that you have something cooked up for the updated version. any information would be definitely appreciated.

ee where ya at homie?

I haven't forgotten. I'm going through permanent residency application and some other legal things so I want to just add that all into one post. This one will be geared around doing business here, living here, permanent residency, getting married here, limitations on banking accounts with local banks, buying property here, etc....
