but i wouldnt let that stop me...hell every so often i try to make up an excuse to go back...and i'm HAPPILY married.

Ok booked my flight, so everything is confirmed now, as usual cats just talk but can't back it up, my boys that said they were up for it have all backed out, even waited a week for one dude but now he said he doesn't think he's going, I said to hell with it and just booked my ticket.

Feb 8th - 20th 2012, now need to get my spending money up.

I'm being quoted 7,400 Reals ($4214.45)to stay from feb 8th- 22nd, that's the blameitonrio link that OP posted.

Some dude quoted me $1,900 for 10 nights, Brasil is really different now, and I guess being carnival time, they're just going for the kill

Brother eewwll, as RIO is becoming prohibitively expensive, what other areas in Brasil should a fellow who wants to get the best 'bang for the buck' explore? Recife? Salvador?

Thanks in advance kind sir!

This thread is over 5 years old. Rio has changed A LOT since then...especially the prices :smh::smh:

I went several times and our dollar has tanked making it more expensive. While this thread is still viable for the general things some of the things have changes.

@eewwll this post was still fire when I needed it back then. But then again there is no preparing you for it Brazil...

Floripa, Recife, Salvador.... pretty much anywhere but Sao Paulo and Rio....especially during Carnaval....

Bruh E, What's Rio like, now? I haven't been in 4 years...DAMN I miss it!

Is Copa being cleaned up for the Cup & Olympics? Since Help closed, are they runnin the GDP's out of the area or have they just found a new spot?

blameitonrio...that's bobby, i think. it's been a while since i been so the names are getting a little blurry.

you are going to pay a king's ransom to go given the current strength of the real, and the weakness of the dollar. on the other hand, you will be living king's experiences down there also :D. of course they will charge you up the yang, but don't let that be a reason not to go. so many ppl around me 'intended' to go but then they froze, get into a serious relationship, or married, or whatever...and the opportunity passes. don't be that guy.

brother e will update you on the latest down there...follow his lead.

Great post EEWWWLLL. I just saw this today and was inquisitive about the exchange rate and right now (as of today) its 1.77 Reals to a dollar. When you posted it was 2.20 reals to a dollar so its not that steep of a difference.

My question is do you know about any volunteer based agencies or services a brotha can look into in any region in Brazil? I want to do volunteer/non-profit work abroad and I had a database for alot of agencies and non profits but it got deleted when I had to do a system recovery.

Also, just a side observation, when Americans tend to find out about something and hype it to Gods glory, the price for said places or events goes drastically up. It might not be in all situations but from my experiences of traveling abroad, its always like that when the natives see American citizens in bulk.

what up fam?

Just an update...so I'm still where I was with the apt, $2,300 is the cheapest so far, I'm still looking around, anyway some chick said I could crash at her pad in the guest room, she would host me, and she's right there at Copacabana, 2 blocks from the beach, she's a Samba teacher and she is trying to get me to go to the carnival with her, since her school are participating..she told me carnival is the most stressful time of year for her, but as long as I'm willing to go to samba school and join them for carnival I could stay at hers, I was seriously thinking about not accepting the stay at hers because I could feel like wanting to go to the beach or just do some other shit instead of going samba school...anyway I youtubed samba school...let's just say I'll be a fool not to go, OMG!!

That's probably one of the easiest ways to meet chicks, plus she would probably tell one of them chicks to look after me while she's doing her routine and shit, she already told me her I could even stay at her sis and she'll show me around....hahahahaha

I've read in the last few weeks how a lot of people actually get teaching based jobs, but the pay is not all that, I can dig out the forum from my recent searches if you would like to see

I dont spend as much time in Rio as before...but it is A LOT cleaner since Help was closed down....actually I was shocked by how rapidly it changed.

Im sure they have found other spots....I dont really know the details though.

That is a 25 percent difference. Imagine something that you were spending 20,000 dollars (without inflation) costing 25,000...then you add on inflation and just other rising costs of goods and that same thing costs 30,000.

When I first started coming down here I think it was over 4 reais to the dollar.

I dont know any off-hand but im sure a quick google search will provide some hits

Peace,

eewwll, I'm not bullshitting when I say that this thread (original and remastered) is the best thread I've ever read on here. GREAT shit. Got me looking at my wife like :hmm:

I just got back from RIo and no I don't have any pics . I just end wanted to share that the way the OP described the women could not have been said better. He is 100% accurate. . .

Although Brasilian women are the most exotic i've ever encounted(my passport
is full fellas), their physical beauty isn't the thing that does it. Yes,
you will find a popozuda with ass that you can set a meal on. You will met
blond women with asses that will put a black women's ass to shame here. You
will meet a woman dark as night, with hair like Chilli, with green or blue
eyes, and curves like a boomerang. It really is quite phenomenal what all
that mixing has produced down there. The pictures posted here before..even
those ones I will post don't tell the story. Even in my pictures, I noticed
that I tend go after Morenas and Mulattas...however, I've far from covered
the diversity with my pics of some minhas amigas in Brasil

But expounding..Brasilian women are the most passionate, effectionate,
sensual, sexual, aggressive, compassionate, etc women you will ever meet.
It's not just the looks fellas. It is the Brasilian way. When you experience
it...then you realize what a real women is supposed to be. I don't mean
submissive or anything like that because a brasilian women will not take
anyshit off of you;however, they don't needlessly produce it. They don't
want to be men.unlike their American counterparts. All the things you are
missing here...the leaves you unsatisfied with women here, you will find in
Brasil. This is coming from a man who has always done well with women. Put
it like this, I have former girlfriends who were both in the Miss America
and Miss USA pageants. I've done well..but it's not the physical beauty that
the women here were lacking..it was this extreme femininity. I can't even
put into words. One day of experiences it will ruin you for life. I've had
friends come down and call their girls by the end of the week just to say
they aren't fucking with them anymore. I have friends that still call just
to say that I've ruined them for life by taking them there. Because after
experiencing Brasil...it is like going from watching Michael Jordan
everynight and then being forced to watch Shaw Bradley as your only option.

How much of this post is still relevant ? Anybody been recently? Any new info would be greatly appreciated

I didn't see this post. My bad. The pricing data has to be drastically different now. Everything is much more expensive.

oh ok... damn...this post is so old and you didn't "quote it'...i was like damn... that sounds familiar

Yo, e...

...are you still in Brazil, or have you moved on? This was years ago when you created this.
