I said the fact that some liked and voted for Trump because he is unapologetic and "keeps it real" telling you what's on his mind, how he feels and what he's gonna do. You can make a similar comparison to why people like Cardi and Tiffany. I've heard many people say this. I'm not saying its right or that I agree with it. In fact, I think it's a stupid ass reason to support all 3. I can't just sit up here and pretend to laugh at someone's corny ass jokes and deliveries cause she keeps shit real. Cause that's a part of her personality. I can't listen to a chick who's lyrics are straight trash sauce cause that's how she really talks. And I would never vote for anyone just because he's gonna tell you like it is and is different from other politicians. There is a comparison with the 3. Different subjects but the comparison is there.

I don't think that anybody with sense believes that black people descended from kings and queens any more than any other race of people on the planet that has had a monarchical rule at some point in history. That's more of a motivational aspiration like saying "we are gods." Of course we know that some black folks are slimeballs too.
That's really just fodder and not my real contention. What I'm mainly concerned with is the part about positive (and negative) images of black people affecting how we are percieved by other groups of people. There are a laundry list of studies that show that the exact opposite is true. The very notion of "Implicit bias" (a misnomer btw because the biases are shaped by experience/exposure) is derived from this type of brainwashing.
physical comedy does not equal cooning. i don't recall a cooning martin lawrence. but i can easily think of some borderline roles from eddie murphy. i think eddie murphy had more of a sarcasm thing going that cooning.

“They can do whatever they want. “We” have so few in certain positions where they believe that the one person there represents all of us.
One can’t really compare Cardi and Tiffany. Cardi doesn’t turn it off because she can’t. That’s who she is.
Tiffany plays up the part to get laughs and attention, and it’s worked.
I’m not going to speak on those other two.

Agreed! That would segue into a good topic. Even if it was on video with just a thumbnail only would probably be the digital equivalent. It takes a real talent to tell jokes all while painting a mental picture of what the Comedian is conveying and THAT is what the greats are able to do.
