You're right i dont live that reality but with all due respect i do know you have options, rights and remedies. But only if you are willing to take on that fight. I just dont think turning a blind eye while counting down to retirement is the answer to this type of shit. Being there 18years you should have TONS of documented evidence to support a potential claim.

Many states are desperate for jobs, you won't get any help there, you might pick up extra speeding tickets with guns drawn on you.

He should setup a central website where people can list complaints about companies. If it is significant, boycott their products, send a letter to the company notifying them of your decision, give them a chance to respond. It will do the same thing as a lawsuit, cost the company money. Organize and you can stop the bullshit at the workplace, without going to court.

Dealing with them on a one on one basis is simple, however once they hold all the chips, and your career over your head, is another. My advice is try to become as independent as possible, and avoid getting yourself in a situation where you whole lively hood is determined by the fate of some racist CAC with an inferiority complex, hell bent on bringing a black buck down. Like I said, I've witnessed it first hand, and to me it reminded me or our slave past.

Worked @ Finast grocery store in Mt Vernon NY around age 20
I was cool with the white workers even used to freak one girl in the stock room.
These cracka managers used to test me all the time.
Had me on rat shit detail
They were up for inspection.
1st i made sure they were deliberately using me only.
Once i saw shit was real I would clean it up but dump it in a different location
Them mothafuckas got written up and i stole their vcr and got fired on purpose after.
You know the vcr they use for orientation to show workers about stealing and stuff.

I've witnessed a 60 year old kat that was mad cool and a good worker. Duke was a chef for like, god knows how long making crazy chedda. The problem with him was, he was lacking some certificate for that title, however, dude was so nice they let him stay and do his thing. However when management changed and they got a dick head white boy in charge, he was treated like a fucken slave, that white boy used to cold fuck with him everyday for no reason.
Well to cut to the chase, duke never drank or smoke or none of that stuff, due to high blood pressure or some shit like that. Well they was talking layoffs, and everyone was being re-deployed, everyday at work people go their package to where they were to be sent, and me being young and new ask the older dude where he was going, being that he been there for years and was the best workter they had. He look me in the face, with eyes I will never forget, and said, head down, I dont know whats going on. Two days later he went missing, come to find out he died, drinking for the first time in over ten years.
Back then I used to think that they didn't fuck with me because I knew how to treat them CACs or due to my street swag I always had, but looking back at the situation, it was cause I was too young, and that fuck it throw away job for me, was everything that old man had, his house, his wife, his car notes, his lively hood! What makes it so bad, is that the white CAC's boss knew it, and ran him to the grave with that shit!
From that day on, I was determined never to let a CAC determine my fate!!!!

He has EVIDENCE, i.e. recordings and pictures. Makes this case similar to the Texaco case in mid 1990's that costs Texaco a minimum of 175 million.
Of course he wouldn't see any where near those kind of numbers, but he would have most likely prevailed.

I was explaining how people can get to the point of desperation which can lead to murder. My advise is avoidance, rather getting caught up. But even so shit still happens and at the end you have to do what you got to do and as crazy as you guys think duke was for shooting them, the kats that fuck with people for no reason, knowing that this shit could happen, are even more crazier.
They have state officials issuing statements on behalf on the integrity of the family of the business and folks want to believe that this guy probably stood a spits chance in hell going up against those people. People 30 and under cannot truly fathom the true pain that comes with racism, we have been raised to believe that if we just say something everything will get better. Young blacks and the nation as a whole do not understand that mediation goes only so far and there comes a time when you have to fight for what you believe in.

Not only do you have to fight the company but you also have to fight the union who claims to be on your side. BTW where does fighting it get you except out of a job and blackballed for your next job?
You don't know if they followed the damn procedures! Stop acting like you know. Anyone who has been in a situation where CACs fuck with you non-stop knows how this goes. In CAC-land, it's not official unless you write it down, so they'll have meetings with you and refuse to leave a record of the event(s). They'll also write down lies and have them automatically believed by other CACs. Motherfuckers will pull out some notes written "three years ago" with fresh ink! They'll also use old video of shit that you've already been punished for, and forgiven for as an excuse to fuck with you later.
As for the stealing allegation, it's far too typical. Even if they have footage of him moving something it doesn't mean he stole it, and even if he stole it that doesn't mean he wasn't singled out. At my last job where I was constantly fucked with by CACs and mexicans aspiring to have CAC-like status. We had a kitchen that was stocked with free food so that we wouldn't leave as often and they could get more free labor out of us. Motherfuckers acted like I was stealing shit when I went in to get a cup of coffee or a granola bar. Don't let em catch you making a ham sandwich! And to top it off they hated on me if I went out to lunch and I'm not talking about fancy places. I'm talking about Ihop, Chick-Fil-A and low status steakhouses. One coworker pointed out that I spent $75 a week on lunch in a half hearted "we should've never given you niggas money" speech. If they had a limit on the amount of coffee I could have, then they could've set me up that way. All it would've taken was a CAC accusing me of taking a third cup of coffee when my limit was two. In the meeting they would just show footage of me pouring coffee at 2:20 pm without any footage of me getting coffee earlier in the day at all. That's how they operate. Was the shooter's beer theft a case of going over the limit or outright theft? If it was outright theft, what was the typical punishment? Did they get a warning and get docked for the lost revenue or were they fired on the spot? This whole resignation thing is bullshit.
Years ago resignation was for high status people so that they could be punished without upsetting the structure or permanently fucking up their cashflow. Now it's all about one last humiliation and disqualifying you from unemployment. If they had hard shit on you, you would be fired.

That is an excuse. Killing people and stealing because he was not man enough to make it is a bitch move. No one ask people to work in fucked up jobs. People have choices in life. I talked about this before. My boy was making 80G's a year and got laid off. He was trying to make ends meet so he took a gig at a fast food restaurant. My boy was smiling and working that job as if it was paying him 6 figures while never complaining. Guess what happen...someone who frequents that fast food joint noticed his work ethic. My boy told him his story and the guy offered him a chance to interview with him because he was impressed with how he tool pride in his work even after making over 80G's a year. Now my boy has a job paying 6 figures.
He was not getting unemployment. If you get fired for fraud or stealing then unemployment is denied. Remember to receive unemployment you have to be discharged for reason not caused by you. Theft, tardiness, or fraud will keep anyone from getting unemployment
