BGOL review .. BATMAN V SUPERMAN... (thoughts, summary, spoilers)

nobody was working there ever considering all the traps and shit that batman laid and the condition of the building before the fight even began lol that shit looked like Detroit.
It WAS Detroit!:lol::lol:

My fiance is from Detroit, and I have to travel there for work. I recognized a lot of the locales that was in the film.

That building the Batman/Superman and later the Doomsday fight was at the abandoned Michigan Central Station

This same building was used in "Transformers" too.

Detroit was used in a lot of BvS scenes:

I still can't give that a pass bills. You can't tell me NO ONE was in the area! No night shift? No Security guards for the warehouses? No bums/homeless living in the abandoned buildings?

Superman flew Doomsday into a field of oil tanker silos making the biggest damn chain reaction explosion

And then on top of that Doomsday let out an even bigger explosion! Shit was ridiculous!

yea fam but there's only 1 person in this picture you provided. dude who taking the picture is the nigga that was driving that truck

Saw this shit today. it was a gorgeous turd. Action was good when it happened. Superman was all mopey and shit. Batman was powerful, but stupid as fuck and Wonder Woman was just random.

The JLA reveal? Garbage. An email? Aquaman was holding his breath, shit was funny with sonic booms underwater.

The Flash looked like how I think Billy Slowhands wants to look: Gay as fuck!

Luthor didn't bother me to much after you all shit on him. Sounded like a white boy tweaking off meth. And Martha? Fucking Martha? must be some white boy shit, cause I call my mother mom. Not her first name. So many plotholes, so many missed opportunities. Solid C- I actually like Iron Man 3 and MOS more than this. Just sloppy. My wife hadn't seen any previews, or read any reviews and though it sucked and she's a comic fan. She thought WW was underdeveloped and just thrown in. Fuck, Transformers with the ni**a bots was better than this.

Ok now for something different....

Just came back from Hardcore Henry and holy shit. Man this is the type of thing that has to be viewed on IMAX. The action in this was in.. Fucking... Sane

It doesn't make any sense but it's not supposed to. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Okay can we talk about Wonder Woman for a second...
IMG_20762-600x450.jpg

While a very bright spot in the movie the scripts reason for her being in gotham is flimsy as fuck... She's looking for a picture of her from a hundred years ago thats been digitized and could easily be on the internet. Meaning its impossible to get the original and even if she did it doesn't matter since luthor has a digital copy and bruce wayne has a copy...who else has one some kid in florida doing a report in WW1 and copying pics off wikipedia??

They didn't develop her at all so don't even waste time. They treated lois like she was wonder woman instead of like she was lois lane.
snyder's wife mustve made those decisions. Cause if you had never heard of wonder woman before you still don't have enough to go off to make you want to see her origin

you gonna be like that's the cat burglar from that movie right? why is this shit set so far back in time?

I haven't even seen the movie yet but I have to unfollow some folks on IG. The blinded fanboy rage is coming out. Before the movie released it was "Marvel is finished" and now it's "Marvel biased blah blah blah etc" I actually know someone who loves Superman but feels that this one is bland and bleak, admits to not loving the movie like other comic book movies done right, yet has seen the shit 6 times in theaters just because the Rotten Tomatoes score is so low. That's fucking insane.

It is insane.... I'm a huge huge DC fan. I even have hand drawn DC Matte art of Flash and Batman in my office, but I can take off my blinders and see this movie for what it was. A complete rush job by Warner Brothers. The craziest part is that they even admit this.

jus saw this shit last night, easily the worst hyped up movie i ever seen, this shit was transformers 2 bad, so much wrong with this movie, lex luthor was cringe worthy, louis lane was everywhere and annoying(the first superman did a good job of having her in the background), they rushed introducing all the justice league charatchers to catch up with the avengers, theres so much more wrong with it, dc needs to give up

What If The Avengers Had Only Done As Well at the Box Office as Batman v Superman?

ixw2fwd078ysmzuswogg.jpg

Over the long history of Marvel Comics, they’ve built some of their most memorable stories on “What If” scenarios. What if this character fought this character? What if this universe crossed over with that one etc. So, we posed our own “What If” to the president of Marvel Studios.

We asked Kevin Feige, what if The Avengers was met with the same critical response and box office drop off as Warner Bros. had with Batman v Superman?

Before we give his answer, let’s line these two up a bit. The Avengers was Marvel’s first major attempt at putting their big superheroes on screen together. It came after five movies of lead-up, has a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, opened to $207 million and ended up with a domestic gross of $623 million and a total of $1.5 billion.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was DC’s first major attempt at putting their own heroes on the screen together. It came after one movie of lead up, currently has a 28% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, opened to $166 million and has so far grossed $296 million domestic and $784 million total. Those numbers are still going up, but the film is expected to end up around $900 million worldwide.

Let’s be clear about this. Batman v Superman is a massive success. But it’s also not hitting the same level of success as The Avengers. But Warner Bros. hasn’t tapped the brakes—the studio already has Suicide Squad and Wonder Womancoming out, with two Justice League movies starting production right now. So we were wondering: If Avengers had received Batman v. Superman’s critical response and box office, would Marvel still be about to release its 13th movie in May 2016?

Here’s what Feige told io9.

Realistically, I don’t know. I think [Warner Bros.] is in a very different position than we were, when we were doing those early movies. We were just trying something, and now there’s a golden ring to try to grab.

But I’ve always believed, since Iron Man 1, that things have got to work. Things have got to work, or people won’t let us make another one. I don’t think that’s the case for [DC].

Which sounds like his way of saying: No. If The Avengers hadn’t worked as well as it did, the MCU most likely would have stalled out, and we’d be looking at a very different movie landscape today.

reply:

You keep saying that. It’s not true. It needs around $800 million just to break even, and it’s not there yet. So it’s not even a “success”, much less a “massive” one.

If you want to know just how not successful this thing has been, consider this: Domestically, it’s being beaten by Deadpool. DEADPOOL. A movie starring a character nobody knows, which opened in a month nobody opens movies in because it’s a dead month, which was made for one-fifth of the cost.

And you know what? Say what you will about how BvS isn’t out of theaters yet, but... it won’t beat Deadpool. It’s not going to cross $350 million domestically.

WB’s tentpole movie, the foundation for their entire cinematic universe, is getting stomped on by fucking DEADPOOL.

BvS lost its third weekend to a shitty Melissa McCarthy comedy. This weekend, it gets The Jungle Book, next weekend it gets Huntsman: Winter’s War, and two weeks after that is Civil War. This thing is done.

So again i ask the question, knowing all of this doesn't that puts a damper on all other DC movies? Whose gonna wanna see flash if the 2 biggest stars that dc has sucked?

To add to that, someone brand new and not the TV version which is great. People said that the TV folks weren't big enough to be in the movies but it still didn't matter.

Agree with all of this. I still think that they can savage this thing, but they need new leadership at the top. Someone who is willing to let this thing grow organically.

I just feel need to say that I fucking hate Warner Brothers..

Yes we knew that Superman was alive, but you could have at least left some mystery for Justice league. Now it really looks stupid for you to go through the trouble of fake killing him.

I'm convinced movie studio execs and some filmmakers are like teens who can't hold their shot and see foreplay as unnecessary.

They rush stories
Kill off major character too quickly
Change character dynamics arbitrarily
Have too many villains or too much going on
And either over complicate stories or just show lazy writing

I mean what's the point of this. Why just basically say... hey you know that funeral that we had... It was all bullshit.

i don't know if its a good thing or bad thing that detroit didn't have to build sets in order to properly portray an apocalyptic grudge match on a movie.

yea they need to film both The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead in Detroit

guess this the only good thing coming out of BvS

Kevin Feige shares his thoughts on Batman V Superman

kevin_feige_marvel_studios_slice_01.jpg

We all know how Batman V Superman wasn’t as well received by the critics and had split the DC fanbase in twine. In fact, there were several threads aboutBatman V Superman that degraded into flame wars between the DC fans and it got absolutely ugly. BvS has been out about three weeks now and its steam roll has already slowed down from its initial punch out of the gate. We do know that Warner Bros. goal is to match or surpass the milestone of one billion, however that might not be attainable at this point. There is one other superhero movie that did reach and break that milestone, and that’s theAvengers.

The president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, was recently asked a hypothetical question in relation toBatman V Superman: “What if the Avengersperformed likeBatman V Superman?” He gave a great response and knows the hardships they had to go through at the beginning, but also the differences between Marvel’s and DC’s positions.

“Realistically, I don’t know. I think [Warner Bros.] is in a very different position than we were, when we were doing those early movies. We were just trying something, and now there’s a golden ring to try to grab.

But I’ve always believed, sinceIron Man 1, that things havegotto work. Things havegot to work, or people won’t let us make another one. I don’t think that’s the case for [DC].”

The critical acclaim that Avengersreceived is a completely different contrast to Batman V Superman. One could argue that when Avengerswas released, no other superhero movie or comic book movie had ever attempted to lump several different heroic personas into one film before. Fast-forward to 2016 and a lot of the fans didn’t seem to take too kindly to the two most iconic heroes DC has ever produced being on screen together; which is odd, to say the least. Whatever the case maybe, it sounds like Feige knows that there’s going to be growing pains involved, but it seems to be a different path for Warner Bros.
