I have a Mac Air 13" for personal

and a Mac pro 13" for work with a 1T SSD :)

I download whole platforms on the work mac and run experiments/projects e.g. hadoop sandboxes, python libraries, ELK, Solr, Apache Zeppelin, nodejs VMs, docker etc... lol

On the personal I do the actual dev for side projects, local, github, AWS, heroku etc

What year? I'm thinking about copping the 2015 on ...15 inch...

15" is way too big

buy the 13" and then a mac monitor or any other monitor.

a second screen is soooooooo valuable and productive.

you could follow along the course on 1 screen and actually code in the next as it progreses

15" MacBook Pro 2013. Sounds like the problems some you may be having are memory related.

That's a good idea. I've been using spaces & split screen(El Cap). Works OK if you got the memory.

Thanks for the advice. This mini got me pissed with the speed and beach ball.

Memory and processor. First dive into the mac eco system, and I took the cheap route. Just wanted to see what other cats were working with.

Naw...brother had this bitch in the back of his truck, under some clothes and papers, etc....I say fuck him, I took that shit...

Seems like memory could be a problem, is says 4gbs...
This Xcode is like 5gbs...but it's not capable with OS X 10.7

Ok gonna see what we got here

2009 Macbook (white unibody), just upgraded the HD to 1TB, upgraded the ram to 8gb...Running El Capitan. This thing is running as smooth as the day I bought it.

This is my exact setup... 13" with 27" Mac monitor.

Also, does anyone know how the instructor is zooming in and out on the storyboard. I see the editor option but how is he doing it so smoothly?

Hey fellas, I just bought the program yesterday. I didn't even know about this until after the coupon expired but I found another code that works.
Good shit @kayanation
I know I'm late, but I just fines Secions 1,2 and 3 and scored an 80 on the pop quiz.

The only thing that sucks is my app keeps on screwing up when I simulate it, even though I follow his instructions to a T.
I keep getting an "class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {" error.

Check your connections/outlets. Might be something you're missing.

Thanks for the tip fam.

I upgraded to El Capitan and am running Xcode 7.3. What connection/outlet could I be missing?

Make sure you don't have a connection to any missing outlets. Make sure you didn't make an outlet and accidentally change the name. Do you see any warning triangles next to a line of code?

I know I had a similar problem in iOS 8. I just deleted the thing and did it over again. It worked. Swear the code was the same. I'm not to sure on all the ways connections/outlets can mess up.

Yea, I undid everything and redid it. Looked at the code and it matched to the instructor's. Same thing.
When i simulate it, it's just a white screen. Frustrating.

There are times that I hit the decode button and it will work. But most of the time it doesn't.

Yeah, it can be frustrating. Shit broke my apps that were working in iOS 8. I remember I built a GetGo app for gas. One time it would work flawlessly, the next time it wouldn't run. Same fucking thing. No code changes. Xcode is trolling me.

Did you try simulating it with different versions of iPhones? 6plus is the only time I get that white screen. I have no idea why.

Yea, I tried using 4 and 6plus, same thing. I think in 4, it would straight crash.
Xcode seems easy enough but I'm gonna hate it if it just wonks out on its own.

I wonder if it's my weak system. I am running the bullshit macmini, 4 gigs, 1.something processor. I'm now going to make sure I don't have shit else open when running xcode. I know through activity monitor I was close to the 4 gig limit.
