Bethune Cookman is broke. I've been around HBCU's just as long and there are plenty of HBCU's that need to be D2 and they are one of them. The Florida Classic helps to prop them up but that's not enough. SSU and WSSU had to face reality and move back down rather than keep bleeding money trying to compete at the FCS level and BCU should do the same.

The students are protesting about mold in the dorms. Remember Morris Brown? Bad leadership, little to no state funding due to being private and charging kids north of 25K a year when they can't get mold out the dorms? They have much bigger issues than Ed Reed tbh. They'd be better off in the SIAC most likely.

Those kids have been complaining long before that hurricane about those dorms lol. I know it is what it is there because my nephew did a semester there thus i'm not surprised. And to be real, BCU has been close to shuttering their athletics twice before and had it not been for FAMU, they likely already would've. Really is no winner in this situation but it doesn't negate the fact that BCU doesn't need to be on the FCS level. What happens if FAMU were to get an invite to CUSA? No Florida Classic, they'd be screwed. The president is right on this very post downplaying it talking about it's not mold it's just mildew. Naw fam. If that flooding caused those types of problems you're supposed to work that out before bringing kids back to the dorms. Minimum, you're setting yourself up for lawsuits.
