Harlem Nights and Coming To America might be the best, but Golden Child may be my favorite

Best movie was Coming to America, funniest movie was Life, his best performance was Nutty Professor (the 1st one).

I bought a whole bunch of 80s Eddie movies on Vudu last month. Some of which I haven't seen in decades. All are classics and stand the test of time, but my favorite has to be Coming to America. I quote that shit weekly in some capacity. Hell, just yesterday I was clowning the video of the dude that fell down the stairs at a house party, saying "Stu, you still gotta pay your rent, Motherfucker!" Its still my go to movie. I even know that Stu was Eddie's uncle Ray. I also bought the full collection of Funko figures. Even the Jawn with the T-shirt. All still in boxes un opened.

And that shit ain't even on your list.....:smh:

I was underwhelmed by Harlem Nights. Too much talent and not enough for them to do. Robin Harris under use was criminal. It has its moments but when you have that much talent you should have a much better product. I sat through it twice (Pussy Tax) So I really got to analyze it on the big screen. As to the best I would go with 48hrs followed closely by Trading places but clearly the most underrated Eddie Murphy movie is Life. Funny and depressing. I remember people left that theater quiet as shit. In my memory only 12 years a slave was more silent.

yeah I co-sign with Harlem Nights....had mad high expectations based on the cast but was underwhelmed. Still Funny and I'll watch it any time its on but It could've and should've been better Imo.

48 hrs, Trading places, Beverly hills cop 1 & 2, Boomerang were classics...

Boomerang is one of my all time favorite flicks, great cast, storyline etc.

I gotta re-watch 48hrs ....haven't seen that since I was a kid.

Also seems like I gotta check out "The Golden child", "metro" and re-visit "A vampire in brooklyn" based on some of the responses here
