I watched this flick this morning on Hulu.
Nothing spectacular with the story cuz the premise has been done a lot since the 1950s.
The film is shot on location thruout areas of Cleveland, Toledo and other areas of Ohio. A small portion of Cleveland culture is represented with its car culture. Multiculturalism is shown, especially with the main character and her boyfriend who carry themselves with “Hip-Hop” culture in the style of dress and behavior. Anyone from Ohio would understand it.
The way the film plays out, you would think the ending would be predictable, but events in the ending surprised me and it did not end as I would have expected. It actually saved the film.
There are two car chases involving the main character. When watching the car chase, don’t watch it like “Neil Degrasse Tyson” they got the cars performing maneuvers that would severely damage the chassis of people actually drove the way they do. Just watch it for entertainment.
They somewhat left it off for a potential sequel.
Overall, it’s an entertaining film.
Synopsis
A reformed teenage getaway driver is dragged back into her unsavoury past when a former employer offers her an opportunity to save the life of her chronically unreliable ex-boyfriend.
