He was slippin during a time of weakness & she checked him out of that bowlshit.

They've been sizing each other up as she's an institution in the town & has already plugged him in with valuable info plus showed her loyalty & worth so now she's put to work like everyone else in his life who has a purpose.

He can't be down there & she ain't going anywhere plus knows all of them well enough give herself some juice combined with his power within this power move they're making.

The bigger point I DID see was how the writers made the women lead & "know best" for the men in their lives:

- from Chaulky's wife who allows everyone to do what they want without truly asking what he really wants since its somewhat outdated to her,

- Rich's chick who told him she cant do it/this life he forced upon her by herself after he brought her Pops home (taking heed to his advice)

- & the singer who's lining Chaulky up who was feeling helpless & vulnerable due to a chick put in his club who he thinks that she thinks that she's better than he is.



Have to see it from the top to take in the interaction @ the beginning as I missed the 1st few minutes between them.
