I agree. The redbone is an easy scapegoat, but Chalky was off his game because Narcisse intimidated him, not physically but intellectually.

When I think about how Chalky's character was juxtaposed against Narcisse, I can't help thinking about Avon Barksdale's line, "I'm just gangster I suppose." Chalky said it himself....a gun in one pocket and money in the other is who he is...all he is.

His game was always his temper.....that shit works in the street, but not in a fancy club on the Boardwalk....

yes, the bottom line is it was narcisse who out maneuvered chalky.

but the tool that he used(being intelligent), was the woman.

broke chalky ALL the way down. man had/has a family, but running off

with the side dish. having the spy(purnsley), wasnt nearly as potent as the

woman!

i don't understand how dudes are arguing that the war started when chalky burned the doc's dope:confused: the war started when the doc first saw chalky and in his view saw another 'darkie' with an inferiority complex. daughter was merely supposed to be a tool in the doc's arsenal to get rid of chalky. unfortunately for him, the 'tool' started to think for herself.

Just got finished watching a movie called one single shot with jeffrey wright playing the role a backwoods, alcoholic character living in upstate ny. Dude is a beast.

Well we had a winter storm in Rochester so i just watched the entire season 4

Damn Jeffrey Wright just stole every scene he was in

dude is the best actor alive...yet the average person probably has no idea who he is

im mad that they didnt go into the handkerchief more with the agents initials on it and they never mentioned what was written on the germans letter

thank god margaret wasnt really too involved this season...i wanted the dumb ho bitch dead

smh @ eli turning on his brother again after all that crying and begging he did for a second chance

props to chalky for figuring the most important shit out although he was getting outwitted for the most part

thank you daughter for making my dick rise in your nude scenes

and im sorry i had no sense of loss for chalkys daughter...her dumb ass had to know who her father disliked and she didnt want to be square broad she really was

btw the black pride they showed in this show and killing a white bitch just made this my favorite season ever

Chalky had that mofo Doc cold with his back to the window and he fucking missed!! Ain't even bother to go inside and check the body. Just: "Let's go!" Turned around and walked away. Four mofos with guns (no Tommy gun though) and they ALL walked away with their backs to the office. Didn't even notice the dude running towards the window with the little pop gun took one man down and tore Chalky White's shoulder open. I cannot believe they didn't have at least one street sweeper


I imagine Chalky White is really Omar Little grandpa. When little Omar was just a pup his grandpa told him: "If you go at the King, you'd bed not miss!" Now we know where Omar got it from.

Co-sign on everything but especially Jeffrey Wright. Duke just blows my mind every time I see him act.

:yes: My favorite actor of all time, I'm going to have to check that flick though I haven't seen it.




Edit: I just checked that cast I definitely have to check that movie out- Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy, Jason Isaccs, thats a mean cast.

He's a genius, I'm glad that he's stayed a character actor and hasn't gone for the big commercial projects, that level of fame would just ruin his talent.

As I pointed out before, the woman wasn't even on the scene yet and still Narcisse muscled his way in to owning a piece of Chalky's club, and don't fool yourself that's what happened, Narcisse told Chalky and Nucky give me what I want or kick rocks, that's strong arm not a deal between men.

You're wrong here also, because the reason Chalky first went after Narcisse was about territory, remember? Narcisse was selling heroin in Chalk's area, had nothing to do with the woman. There was nothing Chalky could have done to prevent Narcisse from attempting to sell heroin in his territory but let's say there was no woman to distract him and Chalky was completely on his game, he discovers the heroin house a month before he does in the show, what changes?

No doubt but even in those he wasn't the star who had to carry the movie.

Sometimes when great actors start getting starring roles in big budget flicks it diminishes their work because it becomes more about the opening week sales and less about the art. I'm glad he's stayed in the co-star, character actor lane instead.
