When Nucky's butler was drinking & having a good time I felt happy for him. Soon as I saw his face when the FBI stepped to him I was immediately angry with him.

I have no idea where this show is gonna take me, I think Al & his brother are the funnest too watch. Never know what they gonna do next.

When police try to figure out what happened 1 of them kids will say he probably drank too much. Next question will be where did the booze come from? Won't be on trial or nothing but def get kicked out of school.

Dr. Narcisse pointed the man out on the stoop as one who is "bringing our people down". Now Dr. Narcisse has no problem selling heroin to his own people, as long as they're the kind of people who's "time had passed."

In the excellent film A Soldier's Story, Sgt. Waters (Adolph Caesar) explained that WWII was "going to change things for the negro." So when confronted with someone like the uneducated, guitar playin', minstrel-like CJ (Larry Riley), he remarks that "the negro race can't afford his kind anymore." And he conspired to get rid of him. Much in the same way, Dr. Narcisse doesn't see all 'Libyans' as equals.

Chalky said AR's original buy-in was for $100,000. He got an additional $200,000 that he lost to Nucky's flush when AR went all-in. So at least $300,000. And apparently his being on tilt continued for a while after that. Nucky told Meyer he was willing to give AR credit up to $1 million, which it turned out he didn't take. So somewhere between $300,000 and $1.1 million.

I would say that AR's character is such that he would get ruffled by losing even a much smaller amount because he simply hates losing, period.

On another front, is it me, or does it seem awfully convenient that the FBI was there to pick up Eddie after he spent all night drinking? Could Bottles be in cahoots with them?

the way that he put it in his drink was wide open. his friend said "hey shouldn't we distract him" and thompson said fuck it and without being careful, just walked over and did it and i'll bet someone saw it and is gonna rat him out. :itsawrap:

Chalky and Dunn spent too much effort in Narcisse's company making it clear that they had a rift. In truth, there's no reason that Dunn should trust Narcisse over the man who took him in, gave him a hella job for that time and got him out of a murder charge. Since the story borrows generously from incidents of history, it's possible that they might jump forward to 1965 to demise Narcisse.
