We’ve taken a deep dive into our own theories about Marvel’s Avengers 4. In short, we’re expecting time travel to play a role, while there’s a possibility a new Infinity Gauntlet could be forged by Eitri. Now, there’s a new theory, via Reddit, and it is truly blowing our minds.

Posted by LoL-Guru, the theory posits that Doctor Strange sent the Time Stone forward in time for the Avengers to use. Once they were done, the Time Stone was sent back to give to Thanos. This was reportedly part of Strange’s master plan, which we speculated about in our own theory.

There are a few key details to pay attention to, LoL-Guru argues. When Strange gives Thanos the Time Stone, it produces a brilliant glow, which only happens when the Infinity Stones are being put to use. Adding to the theory is that Thanos is unable to grasp the stone, instead manipulating it through its aura.

LoL-Guru explains:

When Dr. Strange hid the time stone it wasn’t through some trick of light or illusion like Loki but by sending it forward in time to be used later. Only to be sent back when the Avengers had finished using it.

The Time Stone can travel forward or backward in time, but not space. It will appear on Titan soon after the snap presenting itself to Tony.

This is also why Tony needs to survive. If the snap is inevitable then he is the only one smart enough to a) figure out what is going on when the Time Stone presents itself on Titan and b) study the stone in order to unlock the quantum real (the same way the Mind Stone in the spectre allowed him to create Ultron).

This is why the Gauntlet breaks from the snap! It’s using a Time Stone from a reality where the Avengers have already won and sent it back in time.

It could all be part of Doctor Strange’s plan—and why the events of Avengers: Infinity Warplayed out like they did. Strange let Thanos succeed in order to give the Avengers an edge. The fact that the Infinity Gauntlet is destroyed by the snap could give the Avengers an opportunity to fight back.

Thanos will still be incredibly strong, but without something like the Power Stone at his disposal, the playing field will be relatively even. Give LoL-Guru’s theory a full read at the source link below. We are still trying to fully comprehend what we just read.

Eeeehhh...NO

Here's what I think tho....while THor and em fighting in Wakanda Strange was tellin everybody how things were gonna go down. That's why Stark wasn't lookin horrified when mufuckas started dissapearing. And why Peter didn't say "I don't wanna die"....instead he says "I don't wanna go" over and over.

If you look at that scene Quill and the others knew what was happening to them because Strange had told them what was coming while they switched to the Wakanda battle.

IDK tho....Strange could've done something with the Stone yes....and that caused the glove to burst...maybe but I think they just gonna team up with Cpt Marvel and haveta whoop dat ass. Rocket and Stark gonna come up wit some tech shit and the end they use the Time stone to reverse shit

I've watched this flic too many times to count. When the dvd version drops I'm gonna watch it some more like I've never seen it. Damn near everyday I watch some part of this.

And I've come to this conclusion...

Thanos is the true hero of this flic. Shit should be called THANOS QUEST, not Avengers IW.

His character represents the true potential of the black man and woman when totally focused and possesing the will to act on the knowledge that they are the representation of god on this planet.

He knows what he knows. There's no convincing, or swaying or changing his mind. So as he's choking out Loki, he pays no fuckin attention to "You'll never be a God!"

Bitch I'm choking the life out of you...I AM GOD.lol

Why respond to such foolishness?

The way that we do.

White Lives Matter. Blue Lives Matter.

Everything you come up with they gotta try and insert themselves into it some kind of way. Get you to respond to them. To waste your energy trying to prove yourself when your actions and existence over time does just that. Superior in every way but they run you with the distractions and trickery.

Just snap they fuckin necks and on to the next one. Let nothing stand in your way. THrow these ungrateful bitches off the cliff of destiny. Make reality whatever you want it to be. Quit giving other mothafuckas your power.

When you do that the odds are in your favor.

14 million 605 to 1.

You can't lose.

The universe is yours black man and woman. Do with it as you will.

while I disagree with thanos the world is over populated bullshit but I do love his swag and make it happen attitude...

your breakdown was lovely tho...

respect

Its all theories right now, thing is I trust marvel to tie this up in a way thats both entertaining and makes sense.

Respect bro...Damn near every movie villian is really the hero from our perspective when you look at em through the lens of your third eye. THey just have em do some "villianous" shit in the flic so your subconcious is like "that's the bad guy". That guy want's to destroy the world or the system or whatever so they must be bad. All the while that character is speaking the truth.

So even tho Killmonger spoke nothing but the truth...because he shot his girl and killed Zuri and choked out the old chic he's a villian. They have these characters do "bad" deeds so you "root" for the hero...which will ALWAYS be whitey or the system of white supremacy. Their world. So the character that wan't to destroy the world you will always innately consider a villian. You will allways root for white supremacy or the white hero.

EXACTLY! You got it. You could go on and on wit this shit...the villian in Dr Strange going on about Mormu after they fought and he was tied up talkin shit. Talkin bout destroying this world and building a new one, etc.

I think T'Challa saved Killmonger. They didn't show him die. You know T'Challa just stuck a couple of them beads in his wound and took him to the lab for healing.

SECOND-QUARTER BOX OFFICE PROFITS REACH RECORD HIGH (AND SO DO THE TICKET PRICES)

Business at the box office is booming …and so are ticket prices, according to the latest second-quarter figures from the National Association of Theater Owners.

NATO reveals (via Deadline) that blockbusters like Avengers: Infinity War — which arrived earlier than normal in April — helped give a 23 percent leap in year-over-year box office revenue, meaning that the first half of 2018 is almost 10 percent ahead of last year.

The total box office haul for the April/May/June second quarter period ended up reaching a record $3.335 billion (with the first half of the year having now reached $6.189 billion.)

As well as the almightly Marvel mash-up, it's safe to say genre movies such as Deadpool 2 ($310 million), Incredibles 2 ($440 million), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($265 million) and even Solo: A Star Wars Story ($207 million) have all been responsible for the record-breaking second quarter.

And although there was a 3 percent decline in the first quarter, the February-released Black Panther still currently holds the title of the highest-grossing North American movie of the year with $699.9 million.

With box office receipts sky-high, perhaps it’s somewhat unsurprising that stub ticket prices have risen too.

Last year, the average ticket price rose to an all-time high of $9.18 towards the end of year. Now, NATO adds (via Variety) that average ticket prices in North America have risen to $9.38, a 22 percent uprise from 2018's first quarter average of $9.16 and 43 cents more compared to the prices from the same period last year.

Although if you're in either Los Angeles or New York, you may feel slightly cheated, as ticket prices are (in some case) already considerably higher than $10 a pop. In any case, we'd say it’s all the more reason to go get yourself a MoviePass or join AMC's A-List while you still can.

Just watched it again.
Gonna watch it again too.
The little parts you can't rewind cause you're in the movie that now you can oh man
The music was so fitting. like perfect score.
Thanos hobbling to his seat in Connecticut might still be the best ending to a movie I've seen.
Connecticut

Don't know if it had been mentioned, but can stormbreaker resist the effects of the gauntlet?
Thor was able to launch his attack from distance and wasn't phased

I’ve watched this movie 3 times since monday

man the other day at work i told my coworker who's a marvel head, "Man thanks needs his own movie" he quickly replied, 'Fuck this was his movie, they couldn't fuck with him, you just want to see more of Ebony Maw" i had to :roflmao::roflmao2: cause he's right

...I keep telling people that Thanos vs Dr. Strange battle, short as it was, was the epitome of a translation from comic to screen.

And it looked to me like he compressed reality to bring Strange closer at the end...
he used reality and the soul stone

Yea storm breaker is a beast.

This ain't the comics thanos tho..he dealt with thor pretty easy in infinity gauntlet.
This thanos has been nurfed a ton.comic thanos interfaced with cosmic abstracts before he even had the gauntlet.he took Odin on with no gauntlet.

That's one thing I don't like about the movies..theres no time to delve into the rich histories of these characters and really show what captivated comic readers in the first place.

Avengers: Infinity War Writer Levels On The Thanos Vs. Hulk Scene
David Pountain1 day ago

When a villain’s capable of wiping out half of all life in the universe with the mere snapping of his fingers, it feels a little redundant to say he’s pretty damn dangerous. Nonetheless, in order attain this level of might in Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos had to embark on an interplanetary quest that proved the Mad Titan to be a force to be reckoned with, even without the Infinity Stones under his control.

In the commentary track for the film’s new home video release, co-director Joe Russo describes the purple tyrant as “almost unstoppable,” prompting co-writer Stephen McFeely to clarify that it’s more than just an assortment of all-powerful stones that makes him a formidable foe.

“He’s got the strongest will,” said McFeely. “I mean, that’s one of the things we always thought is that he’s not dangerous because he’s got the Stones, he’s dangerous ’cause he has the will to use them.”

The opening sequence aboard the Asgardian ship also shows Thanos to be a rather impressive fighter, besting two of the Avengers without even making use of the Power Stone already in his possession. And here, the filmmakers explain the thinking behind this scene.

“Here you see the early establishment of just how fearsome Thanos is even without, he’s got one stone here and I don’t think he’s even using it,” McFeely said.

“He’s not using it,” Russo said. “This is to show that Thanos, the Genghis Khan of the Marvel Universe, he’s unbeatable in 1-on-1 battle. He’s conquered thousands of worlds. He’s a much more polished fighter than the Hulk, and Thor, and Loki.”

“We want to announce Thanos as the biggest villain in the MCU, he takes out the previous reigning champion, and by defeating Hulk relatively savagely and easily, hopefully, there’s a sense of dread over the course of the rest of the movie for anyone who will come up against him, and so that’s just sort of a scene design,” McFeely said.

Indeed, this opening section would set the tone for a film that would essentially consist of two-and-a-half hours of Thanos charging through one opponent after another. If that’s a spectacle that you’d like to revisit, Avengers: Infinity War is out now on Digital HD, and coming to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD on August 14th.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Directors Explain Why Thanos’ Victory Was Good News for Red Skull

Marvel
Spoilers for “Avengers: Infinity War” ahead. Don’t read if you haven’t seen it!

With that finger-snap at the end of “Avengers: Infinity War,” Thanos made the future extremely uncertain for a ton of Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes. But the movie’s directors have confirmed there’s at least one character for whom the Mad Titan’s gut-punch victory was extremely good news: Red Skull, whose surprise appearance was one of the film’s big twists.

On Twitter Friday night, “Infinity War” directors Joe and Anthony Russo fielded a fan question about Red Skull (Ross Marquand), and kind of implied we might be getting more of him in the future.

Just in case you didn’t see “Infinity War” but for some reason are still reading this: Late in the film Thanos (Josh Brolin) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) head to a planet called Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone. That’s one of the six all-powerful Infinity Stones Thanos needs to wipe out half of all life in the universe. Once there, they’re greeted by Red Skull, revealed to be the keeper of the Soul Stone.

Red Skull last appeared way back in 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” where he tried to use the powerful artifact called the Tesseract — later confirmed to be the Space Infinity Stone — to take over the world. That backfired horribly, with Red Skull seemingly killed when he was sucked through a spacetime portal at the end of the movie.

But it wasn’t clear exactly what happened to him until “Infinity War,” where it’s explained that as someone who tried to control an Infinity Stone, he was bound to another one — the Soul Stone. Or as he says, forced to guide others to something he can never possess himself.

Red Skull tells Thanos that he has to sacrifice something he loves to gain the Soul Stone. Thanos does so by killing Gamora, after which he wakes up at the bottom of the mountain where he found Red Skull, with the stone in hand. What happened to Red Skull, though, is never discussed.

But during their fan Q&A on Twitter, the Russos explained that with the Soul Stone in Thanos’ possession, Red Skull is no longer bound to Vormir and is free to leave. They also hinted at a possible future for Red Skull.

“Red Skull is free to leave Vormir, and he is also free to pursue his desire for an Infinity Stone,” the directors wrote.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that Red Skull is definitely showing up anytime soon, but like his not-quite-death in “Captain America,” the door is wide open for his return. Especially in light of something the “Infinity War” writers said in the audio commentary on the home video release.

The idea to make Red Skull the guide to the Soul Stone on Vormir served a purpose for the script, writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus said. Butin addition it fulfilled a longtime wish for the pair, who also wrote all three “Captain America” movies. They said they had ‘a fetish’ for bringing the Red Skull back to the MCU, and Vormir gave them that opportunity.

As an added bonus, go back and rewatch “The First Avenger” to see for yourself how well Red Skull’s appearance in “Infinity War” is supported by his fate in the earlier film. But you’ll still have to wait until next April to see if he returns, again.

The home video release of “Avengers: Infinity War” has introduced a lot of new information about the state of the MCU.

Here’s everything we learned from the “Infinity War” director commentary, including how “Black Panther” made the “Infinity War” filmmakers look smart. We also learned why Spider-Man lingered a bit after Thanos’ snap; that you don’t have to be “worthy” to wield Thor’s new “Stormbreaker” axe; why Thanos didn’t go after the stones years ago; and why Thanos didn’t just double the universe’s resources.

We’ve spent a lot of time digging through the details to try to figure out what’s coming not just in “Avengers 4” but also “Captain Marvel.” We have come up with a pretty solid guess about what is involved in the one future Doctor Strange saw in which the Avengers defeat Thanos. Click here for our deeper look into how “Captain Marvel” might impact that distressing plot twist at the end of “Infinity War.” There’s also another obscure Marvel Comics hero who could be essential to “Captain Marvel” and “Avengers 4.” Click here for our discussion of the whole Vision situation and whether he’s really dead. Here’s a rundown of how “Infinity War” could actually be a giant, elaborate test. If that’s not weird enough for you, here are some other wild fan theories. And, finally, here’s our run-down on how the comic book version of these events played out.

20 Big Things We Learned From the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Director Commentary
Phil Hornshaw and Phil Owen

Marvel Studios
Fans have been speculating about all kinds of things about “Avengers: Infinity War” since the movie came out. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo and screenwriters Chris Markus and Steve McFeely layered their culmination of 10 years of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies with references that cut right back to the MCU’s beginnings, and there are plenty of clues about what the future might hold scattered within, too.

In the home video release for “Infinity War,” the Russos and Markus and McFeely give feature commentary to go with the movie, and they reveal all kinds of interesting things about the film — plus, they confirm a few fan theories about what’s going on in the movie that might give hints about the events of “Avengers 4.” Here are all the interesting, cool and cryptic things we learned from the director commentary on “Infinity War.”

1. Kenneth Branagh was the voice of the Asgardian distress call

“Infinity War” opens almost directly after “Thor: Ragnarok,” the MCU movie which takes chronologically right before it. That movie ended with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) leading his people away from a destroyed Asgard. “Infinity War” picks up with Thanos (Josh Brolin) attacking the Asgardian “ark” ship. We hear a distress signal from the Asgardian ship at the start of the movie. Turns out, the person calling for help is Thor” and “Thor: The Dark World” director Kenneth Branagh, or Sir Kenneth if you’re feeling especially British.
