Yea its kinda weird because he is still learning based on the end of his movie but if he becomes extremely powerful how can Mordo step to him in the sequel. Like they want us to think about it but not too much. I'll give you that. Can he?
I'm seriously asking cause to be honest Dr. Strange is the character that I know the least about. And I was wondering about the teleporting powers the whole time that they were crashing on Titan. I was wondering why didn't he just teleport them off the ship. Or send everyone to the mirror dimension.
The movies haven't really done a good job explaining the limits of his magic. I thought they didn't teleport there because he could only do it on Earth or only to places that he knows. Something like Nightcrawler in the X-Men movies.
I don't think it's a nitpick to point out that their plan was stupid. Just a few throw away lines of exposition about Strange's power limit is all that was needed.
I kinda think that they're purposefully not explaining the limits of Strange's magic so they can always bring him into a story to magically ex machina themselves out of any corner.
In his own movie he used the time stone to trap Dormammu in a loop. In Thor he teleported all over the damn place and sonned Loki. He sonned the God of Mischief and magical bullshit. But when Thanos came to town all he had was the magic hand shield thingy.

I am looking forward to that. I like villains where you can kinda see where they are coming from. Thanos' plan is wild but he has a point. Same with Killmonger.I believe the mordo conflict will be on a moral/psychological plane.
I base that on his statement about rules and using dark magic 'the bill MUST come due. '
I think/hope that in the Dr strange sequel he will put strange in moral and ethically compromised situations where strange will be forced to face his own ego and questionable choices he has made.
I wasn't even a fan of the first Dr. Strange but I love that idea for the sequel. Villains with morally ambiguous motives that test the values of the heroes tend to be the best (i.e. Joker, Killmonger, Thanos).I believe the mordo conflict will be on a moral/psychological plane.

Chiwetel Ejiofor already showed that he can pull that off brilliantly in Serenity.
Quill: Don't call us plucky. We don't know what that means. Yes were optimistic but your plan sucks so let me do the plan and that way it won't suck.
Drax: Tell him about the danceoff to save the universe.
Stark: What dance off?
Quill: It's not a...
Peter: Like in Footloose the movie?
Quill: EXACTLY LIKE FOOTLOOSE!...Is it still the greatest movie in history?
Peter: It never was!

@ the amount of lines in these franchises that are unscripted & improvised. Not even Apocalypse???
Can he?

doesn't work in space. he has to be on earth to send him somewhere else on earthStrange might have also lost the sling ring fighting Maw.
Who'd win between Apocalypse & Thanos??? Or Mr. Sinister & Thanos???
if u want a good idea of what thanos is... he's marvel's equivalent of darkseid

strange's powers are based upon him being in the earth realm or in the equivalent footprint of the earth realm... meaning he can be in another dimension but within within the same earth footprint. so he's not as great in space and why you've never seen him taking trips to outer space in the comics. he has to be able to tap into the "forces" in the earth.
in the movie they made it as they draw power from the dark dimension but i can't explain that one.. that was simply for the mcu

Fox's use of Apocalypse doesn't even come close to the powers this dude posses. They made him seem so fuckin weak. He can basically give himself any superhuman power.Who'd win between Apocalypse & Thanos??? Or Mr. Sinister & Thanos???
Thank you Don.
You've done a better explaining Dr. Strange in 3 posts than Marvel did in 3 movies. I have love for the MCU but they've done fuck all in explaining all of those Earthly limits to his powers. Knowing all of that makes me want to go rewatch the movie again. That information you posted really helps![]()
it's confusing. the mainstream "marvel universe 616" that most people refer to and comics read are only "part" of what they use in creating the marvel cinematic universe which is why it's confusing. They are using details from another marvel universe called marvel universe 1610, where they merge details with to create the marvel cinematic universe. merging all that together will make it difficult to understand if you know nothing about it. which is why i'm really curious how they are going to introduce the x-men and the fantastic four into the marvel line up.
I always been a bigger DC fan. At least when it comes to the actual comics. The only run of Marvel that I ever really followed was the Ultimate Universe stuff. I like that the MCU is basically a smash up of 616, Ultimate, and the creative choices of the writers and directors.it's confusing. the mainstream "marvel universe 616" that most people refer to and comics read are only "part" of what they use in creating the marvel cinematic universe which is why it's confusing. Mordo at the post credit scene said he's collecting magic from people that don't deserve it like the paralyzed guy. So he will get stronger.Yea its kinda weird because he is still learning based on the end of his movie but if he becomes extremely powerful how can Mordo step to him in the sequel. silver surfer is chillin with fox, i wouldnt expect to see him.Ok, finally saw it. Now, where the fuck is Silver Surfer? I remember reading the Infinity Gauntlets series as a kid.
All in all, dope adaptation. Marvel is killing it. Thanos is hands down my favorite supervillain next to Carnage.
