Avengers: Endgame (2019) Discussion Thread (SPOILERS)

I agree with most posters here. Whenever you introduce time travel in a movie the shit can get all out of place...that's why the X-Men series is so fucked up now.

But overall it was a good movie. Everyone got excited seeing black panther walk through the portal.... I wonder who is going to be the main villain in the next phase. Kind of hard to top Thanos.

Very hard to top Thanos. They really did a good job with him to make him interesting. I’m wondering how do they keep people vested in the lead up to the next big team up movie.

Cap, Thor, and Tony lucky as hell

One on one they would’ve got murder

Especially cap, that sword was destroying that shield

thats the point they are stronger togther...when you think Avengers and their holy trinity its Cap, Iron Man & Thor...it was epic that they confronted Thanos dolo
a factor in why they lost the 1st time is cause they were separated

and even at their best it took all they had, tons of scarficie for 1 outta 14 million shot

I'm sorry man. This was a big movie. An event, dare I say. I would have told dude to shut the fuck up.
The way dude was talking and acting. That shit would have escalated quickly. In the end when cap give falcon the shield. Someone else yelled out"now he's American patroit" The annoying guy yelled out"Naw bitch he's the new Captain AMERICA, I read all the comics" Shit was annoying.

That's when you complain. I'm not going to have my experience ruined by some ignorant motherfucker who ain't never been anywhere before. Just pack it in with your free passes and catch the movie at another time.

So how did Thanos know Stark in IW?

Notice that Iron man and Winter Soldier were only on screen together during the final battle where they were too busy to see/deal with each other.

Age of Ultron was the most important MCU movie. It predicted that Cap would end up with peggy, it predicted Ragnorak and IW, it mentioned an Endgame, it showed Cap almost lifting Thor's hammer, and it directly caused the events of Civil War and Black panther to happen.

They didn't try to explain what happened to Valkyrie, just dropped her in the movie.

Wasn't the gay dude one of the Russo brothers?

Captain Marvel got the "Storm" treatment.

As I said in IW, Wanda needed help because she didn't want to go 100%. In endgame, she gave no fucks and was fighting very well against Thanos.

Even though it was slow in parts, I think they had to do everything they did. It was a great movie, just not as good as IW imo.

I guess Heimdall is permanently gone too.

They should have just told everyone that there wouldn't be an end credits scene (the sound of a hammer on an anvil doesn't count).

The "Avengers assemble" "on your left" "I am Iron man" "I went for the head" parts were excellent.

Overall I'm only going to rewatch the end battle.

Well the last time a country tried to help their only option was to drop a nuclear bomb on New York and kill everybody....

Ever since the Phase One flims and the Avengers were formed the military basically let the Heros do their job...

That makes sense how? Six people against hundreds? 2 of them just regular humans? One nigga with a bow and arrow? Lol.

And that doesn't explain other countries militaries either

I have no plans to go to that paticular theater, for a while. Plus today pretty much the only day I can see this 3 hour movie. The next few weekends is going to be up in the air for me.

Im pretty sure Thanos knew who tony was from the events of The Avengers movie dince tony pushed the nuke thru the wormhole to destroy Thanos army. Thanos has genius level intelligence and most likely did he research. When they were in 2014 he mentioned the Avengers when they came up from the hologram which he knew who they were from the firsy avengers film.

I usually don't go to movies on opening day for this reason. Went against my usual judgement and saw Us on opening day and instantly regretted it. I'll catch Endgame next week, during a matinee or something.

Lol.. It don't make sense but that what happened...

I guess other countries better step their superhero game up...
Time for Alpha Flight... Winter Guard... Excalibur...etc...

But truthfully the MCU hasn't had a Independence Day level event where all major cities are under attack at the same time...

I can see that, but it doesn't fully explain the "you're not the only one cursed with knowledge" line. It could have been a general statement, but it sounded like it referred to something very specific.

Cause Stark is a genius and is known for being one and Thanos was making the point to Stark that he is also a genius on the level of Stark.

I think it had to do with both Thanos and Tony being worried about the wellbeing of their home world’s. Tony wanted to save as many as possible vs Thanos wanting to kill off half of everyone randomly.

It was a bit more than that. They also got people who weren't dusted to into the fray. There were the Asgardians and the additional wizards.
I was speaking specifically on BP, Shuri and Okeye.

However, we don't know if those Asgardians and additional wizards weren't also dusted.

Remember, half of Asgard survived Thanos attack on the ship. The other half survived the snap.

He knew of the Avengers since Avengers Part 1.
Also he had the MIND stone!
That is what he meant by cursed with knowledge.

He didn't have the mind stone at that point in the movie. But him finding out who blew up his army with a nuke makes sense.

Also don’t forget the line where Tony said Thanos has been in his head since 2012. He had nightmares and ptsd because of it and that drives iron man 3.

I’m very interested to see how Agents and Shield and Especially Spider-Man handle the whole... 5 year difference for the people that disappeared and the ones that didn’t.

someone more then likely based around the deviants or onslaught or doom.

the only complaint i have about the movies is how they ignore the tv shows
Agents of Shield and the Netflix joints (damn shame the Defenders got canceled without ever making it to the big screen)

its gonna get better since going forward the shows on Disney+ will be run by Fiege
we gonna get a Loki show, a Vision & Scarlet show (not sure how they will that) & Hawkeye squared show

Marvel now has all rights to X-Men, Fan 4, Silver Surfer, Namor & DOOM
its gotta be DOOM or maybe Galcutus (done right) as far as BIG BAD but i am leaning towards DOOOOOOOOM

If they have Namor as the villain for Black Panther 2, is it gonna be Asians vs Blacks?

Alright, Im going IN...

This movie was VERY disappointing for more reasons than I can't explain in a single post but Ill try to touch on my major gripes briefly:

1) Shit was dragging its ass off for a "Comic Book/Super Hero" Movie, especially in comparison to IW. Outside of the first Thanos mission the first almost 1/3 of the movie was heros in plain clothes sitting around talking. Trying to invoke "drama" when they could have been filling in critical gaps in continuity.

2) They completely Shitted on the Hulk! You build him up in all of his movies as "The Strongest Avenger" that they take special care to control or he could cause mass destruction. Then they neuter him in favor of that bitch ass Mark Ruffalo. Hulk gets his ass handed to him in Ragnorok, gets his ass handed to him royally in Infinity War, and doesnt come out the rest of the movie. Now in the Endgame he is the size of the hulk with moist ass Mark Ruffalo's voice and personality and parodies himself in the past as soft. He does NOTHING Hulk-like, the only real HULK we got was in the past...horrible. No Hulk vs Thanos, No Hulk vs Cull Obsidian, he literally did nothing but be banner in a hulk costume.

3) Thor was a joke...it literally gave me flashbacks of the Madarin from Iron Man 3. His entire arc was to build him up to learn to be the King of Asgard, by learning lessons, maturing and becoming a successor and evolution of Odin. Instead, we get no real growth from him after losing everything, he decides to hand the throne to Valkyrie and be a goofball with the Guardians. AND he nearly killed Thanos while he had the Gauntlet with all the stones in IW, kills the old weakened Thanos in Present day easily....but gets handled by 9 years younger Thanos without the gauntlet or any stones and Thor had Mjolnir AND Storm Breaker and his unlocked potential???? FOH.

4) They CONSTANTLY go against the rules they set in this universe! They have always said that only beings of extraordinary powers can brandish an infinity stone, let alone all of them. They then say that in order hold and use all of the infinity stones a special device in the infinity gauntlet needed to be made by the Dwarves which need special metal and forging techniques to make, we even see the mold or the prototype in IW. Now despite establishing that Iron Man can just use his human-made nanotech to hold and use the stones!?!? WTF? The gauntlet allowed Thanos to safely have the stones and use them without it taking a toll on him. Using them all at once was the thing that the gauntlet couldn't contain and thus fried Thanos. Furthermore when they finally get the stones that say that Hulk is the only one capable of taking the strain of snap let alone putting the stones together period, and you see him struggle just to get it on with all the power withering his arm. How in the blue fuck was Tony able to even put the stones in his suit without exploding let alone having time and energy to snap. Also, how do any of them know how to use the stones!!??!?

Also, they have shown the time stone to have the ability to rewind time in general or on specific things. We have seen it in action in Dr. Strange, AND IW when Thanos used it to rewind vision and take the stone. So where the fuck was strange when Tony was dying? He could have easily rewound Starks body and injuries without effecting his actions in the snap.

5) Left SOOO many plotholes and questions!
  • What happened to Loki? If he deviated from that timeline then the tesseract never goes back to Asgard and thus never ends up with Thanos.
  • What did Stark actually snap? Just to end Thanos and all his crew? or to put them back where they came from?
  • How come Captain Marvel whom is fueled by getting hit or touched by energy gets knocked seemingly out of the movie with just one hit from the power stone?
  • How the fuck did Cap become worthy to wield Mjolnir?? and I know the theory about him keeping the Bucky-Stark secret was the thing that was holding him back, but thats bullshit...also how does he know how to use this new founded power??
  • Where did cap get a second shield?
  • How did Cap put the Soul Stone back and NOT have a scene with Red Skull?
  • What happened to Gamora?
  • What was Thanos sword made of that it breaks vibranium?
  • So every planet in space has Earth-like oxygen? You need a suit and air to breath while moving through the quantum realm, but when on Morag or Vormir, or Titan, its just like earth?

Things I liked...
The Capt story was good like the way they let him live
Action scenes were fire, the final battle was epic!
Liked revisiting the past movies/characters

1. If you use the time stone to heal folks then no one will really die which means that nothing matters. Yes Thanos used it right in IW to kill Vision but you have to not use it over and over again.
2. I'm guessing this will lead into his show on Disney+ (Loki)
3. To create drama.
4. He moved it in AoU.
5. Have to watch again to look for Shield.
6. Too many questions. Disney wrapping it up.
7. Gamora will probably be GOTG 3 plot
8. I wish they had explained it. I'm guessing it is made out of the same stuff as Corvus Glaive's weapon which is pretty powerful.
9. Thinking too much. Casuals are watching too.

good point.

Niggas expect people to lose half of everyone they know and just be normal and super analytical all action all the fucking time. Fuck all that. Five year passed and your friends gone. Your fam gone just like that. No time to prepare. Just bam. Gone. You really gonna be normal after that? It’s that fucking hard for people to understand why Thor got fat after letting himself go and essentially giving up? Of course Black Widow is going to crack. Of course Hawkeye is going to go berserk. It isn’t business as usual like a muddacunt DC movie.

Endgame is different...as it should be.

I'm not a comic book head. But I know of Doom. Just from the previous fantastic four movies and MF Doom:giggle:

It would be nice if they go this route. O wonder if marvel is going to stretch out the next phase as last night though.
