Avatar: Legend of Korra, new animated series!

^brotha I'm on your side. Air nomads surfacing and helping Aang rebuild is easily explainable. It's others that have argued against ya.

For all we know the air nomads could have flown to some high ass Mt. Everest type of peak and chilled undiscovered for a century.

Shit, Zuko's mom could even be with them (i know I'm reaching now but hey, it's all good in the time of the Avatar).

thank-you.

the 13 year old geek in me demanded credit for the hidden air nomad theory.

I like how she's coming out of the box ready to kick ass with three elements under her belt. There will be soul searching but it will be after she puts somebody on the infirmed and shut-in prayer list at church.

but the avatar cycle go through the stages by the tribes and the avatar is a soul. So why would an avatar whose already alive have a child to become antoher avatar. They will be contradicting their storyline. There can only be one avatar not two at the same time representing the Air nation back to back.

Remember before ang it was roku(fire),angg(wind), now water. Before roku it was earth. Ninjas want the producers to switch up the main character but it will make things complcated and contradict everything. The producers know what they are doing :hmm:

:hmm:

The only question i have is will she be a fully realized avatar or have to go through the training like Aang did? He needed masters in the other elements to help train him. If she has already mastered the avatar state then it will be hard to find villians for her to fight

I assume she'd have to train like Aang did, one of her teachers is Tenzin, which is Aang and Katara's son. I think he's gonna teach her airbending

Thanks for the heads up.

Been waiting forever for book 2. Not even sure I believe the September date.

This deserved its own thread my friend.

I'm only a couple minutes into the 2nd episode and I'm calling it right now .... her uncle is going to end up being a bad guy. Not sure if he'll be the main bad guy this season, but this guy is clearly using her to set up some other shit.

Naw that's what they want you to think by making the uncle seem like the obvious villain, you need to watch out for the guy who gave the fat brother all those gifts and is doing business with the chic

Did they switch the day it comes on? I thought it was coming on sunday mornings. I'll have to set my dvr to catch the two episodes i've missed this season.

Great season so far. I'm glad it's not focused on sporting games, unlike last season. Last season was a nice change of pace, but I much prefer the show in the direction it's going now.

Question for the O.G. avatar fans. I've never been able to sit through the original, but I really liked the direction they went with Korra. Although, one thing has been bugging the hell outta me since last season ....

They're called benders, so doesn't that mean that they bend and manipulate elements. Like, if your a water bender and I give you a bucket of water, then you can take that water and bend it to your will.

I ask because the water and fire benders seems to just shoot their element out of their hands at will. And how is it that only water and fire benders can do that? Why can't earth benders shoot rocks out of their hands?

Air bending is from Baguazhang style

Fire bending is from Northern Shaolin style

Earth bending is from Hung Gar style

Water bending is from T'ai chi

They use their imagination and a real martial arts for each bending style...

Okay, I may have to re-watch some episodes, because I thought that Korra was shooting water out of her hands at some points.

But you're saying that fire benders and the lightning benders
(which I think is a sub-section of fire bending :dunno:) can shoot their element out of their hands without an external source. But why? Was there a reason given during the original series?

I think, but don't quote me just yet, but fire/lighting is the Chi or energy of the body.

Water benders usually carry couple dasani bottles around their waste, they can't shoot water out of their hands unless they are pulling water out of the air which I doubt, and the same goes for fire bending they need a fire source to shoot it, lighting bending is a form of fire ending only skilled people can do, there isn't much science about it you have to be incontrol with some ying and yang bullshit to use it

I remember her uncle bringing out the water bottle before, but it still seems like there are time when it just comes out of no where. But I can live with that, at least for the water benders.

But the fire benders .... C'mon. I might be inclined to go with the chi/enegry theory because there is no way they're walking around with open candles in their back pockets at all times. At the end of the last episode, Korra was in the middle of the ocean, shooting fire at her cousins and the evil spirit. There wasn't an external source of fire for miles.
