My family and I just relocated to the Atlanta area (Snellville). My wife and I are looking to find some bars/clubs that are geared towards the mature(30+)crowds. We also need to find a new church home(baptist). Any suggestions?

It's been a while since we've had these I'm moving to Atlanta threads. I thought Charlotte and Houston took its place.

 oh the irony of a nigga asking for church recommendations on a porn board full of godless degenerates while posting butt nekkid bitches as collateral

Bro. Don't nobody really want to be here. They believe the hype, come, and go within 3 years.

Yeah that's true. The difference is that I've already relocated to Atlanta. We are going to explore the city and since I know BGOL is about more than just porn, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. I've seen a lot of threads where members has stepped up and helped each other(even when the ones asking were just "thinking about doing something"). I already made my move and am trying to get established. I know I'm a lurker and I'll go back to lurking after this thread.

Yeah the irony of the situation did not escape me either:lol:. BGOL has an extensive network of people of all walks of life so I figured someone would have some useful suggestions, but rules are rules... to ask a question on this board you must post pics. :dunno:

Stay away from the megachurches. You might like Elizabeth Baptist although it's on the Southwest side of town and you're on the Northeast. I don't go out in this city much anymore so I don't know about clubs or bars.

I suggest you use yelp, scoutmob, eventbrite, or just walk certain areas of town to explore and find new spots and meet people.

Atlantic Station
Little Five points
Midtown
Downtown
Perimeter Dunwoody
West Marietta Street/Howell Mill/Collier Hills/Food truck park

All are pedestrian friendly and have bars, restaurants and lounges, just depends on your forte.

Here are some restaurants I like:

Legal seafood
Pappadeauxs New Orleans Cuisine
Fellinis Pizza
Nickys Seafood
The Buddha Chinese Food

Thanks!

Be careful in Snellville. Gwinnett and Snellville police on go mode to take you to jail.

Roadblocks galore.

Pleasant Hill Road in Lawrenceville has Barnacles and wild bill's.

There's a strip joint off hwy 78.

Umm... Dave and Busters on Sugarloaf.

Taking the trip into the city is where everything is at though. It's a good ride. Snellville is awfully inconvenient.

You did not move to Atlanta, you moved to Snellville. I was born and bred in Atlanta, and been her 40 something years and don't think I have ever been to Snellville, so I can't help you.

Taqueria del sol, but like op are saying bruh that's a trip for you that's not a hop skip and a jump, as for clubs I used to be on a email list but since I left I opted out of it, but opera, mansion, velvet, compound, reign, Harlem nights, leopard lounge, sutra, geisha, but real talk a club could be there and gone tomorrow, same for resturants, I remember it was django and another spot next to it with a roof top, over by gladys nights, the rooftop spot closed then django, bottle bar is ok up in buckhead, black bars tend to be on the southside college park or east in Decatur

Man,ain't a damn thing wrong with the "A".... It's just that lame ass ninjas up and relocate there thinking that the change of address will bring an automatic shine to their lame ass.... It won't.
When they get there and find out that they are still can't get dough and pussy without putting in work, the head back home swearing Atlanta/NYC/CHI/L.A. ain't shit:lol:...

This is the truth! And it be big, nice spots, you think they're well established. ..then you drive by and it's a pile of dust & mound of red clay with some bulldozers on it. A lot of development going on, people getting bought out.

Best is to get on a email list of a promoter. I kinda chilled on going out, too. I be so busy with work that I got my spots I go to and that's it. But I need to change em and find a pool hall that's black owned, a bar, or Mexican spot close to spaghetti junction that's like the Mexican on Old National.

Ain't shit on the top end for black folks, at least not like I'm used to. I can't even find nowhere that plays rap :dunno:

Oh and when you leave, sherm?

Just FYI...Cheesecake Factory has a very good happy hour. 4.00 drinks, 5.00 food plates and it's a good size portion. I hit the Perimeter Mall one all the time, plenty 30 somethings there.

And WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY THIS WEEK all their cheesecakes are 1/2 off!

Cat is asking about a home church to join whist posting pussy!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Don't get me wrong, props for the drop! That oiled up broad would get all my loot!

But still...

Can't help u on church, cuz I don't go.

But here's my rundown:

First, support our people:

50 black-owned bars and restaurants in Atlanta:

http://www.idontdoclubs.com/2015/06/30/black-owned-restaurants-atl/

Everything on that list to my knowledge is black-owned, except Daddy D's BBQ.

---

Buford Hwy is the "Chinatown" of Atlanta. My favorite spots are:

1) Chinese BBQ - This is the most authentic Chinese spot in the south. People from China drive from miles around to come to this place because of it's authenticity.

2) Com Vietnamese Grill - nice lil Vietnamese spot

3) Not on Buford Hwy, but take your family to JeJu Sauna in Gwinett. That place is awesome, especially when it's cold.

Buford Hwy is where the Asians & Hispanics are so you'll find plenty of restaurants for that kind of ethnic food.

Check out Los Tortas for some bomb-ass Mexican sandwiches, one of my favorite spots.

---

I like Spondivitz on the South Side, nice seafood spot.

Papadeux, lotta people looooove that spot.

ATL has a lotta corporate sponsored free events. High museum, Woodruff Arts Center, lotta open free festivals, check out creativeloafing.com to stay informed on that...

For nightlife Checkout:

Edgewood and Auburn (strip of bars, Cafe Circa, Erosol, The Sound Table)
Apache Cafe
Little 5
East Atlanta Village
Atlantic Station
Castleberry Hill
West End ( Tasili's Raw Reality, Soul Vegetarian, if you into the vegetarian/vegan thing, black-owned spots)
Downtown Decatur is nice.
Ponce De Leon - lotta spots to check out on this strip.

Downtown is aight.

I don't fuck with Cobb County or Buckhead. Cobb County got a lotta racist cops. Buckhead, I just don't like.

Midtown is the fag center of the world. I avoid going there at all.

You won't run out of restaurants in ATL, that's half the city.

Thing about ATL is you gotta actively explore because shit changes rapidly.
