I like how everyone in the cast got something to do and doesn't feel forced.

I know right... they finally have a good balance right now.

I just hope they don’t fuck it up... at the mid point of the season.

I’m putting all of my money behind the big bad being Argus

Looks like Curtis is on the path to his exit...

they NEED to just get rid of Curtis...even though he ia acceptable in SMALL doses

sidebar...

this is yet ANOTHER example of why people do not fully appreciate the level of difficulty there is to make a character like Cisco Ramon a fan favorite.

i'm glad y'all are enjoying it

I don;t think I have ever ROOTED for a show more.

I can;t explain it, but I think we see the POTENTIAL and when they get they sh*t straight it is a wonderful show and the FIRST one on the network too.

They had such a HUGE hurdle.

But to be fair...

Black Panther had even MORE pressure...

first Black lead, following the success of not only the OTHER super hero WB shows but Black Panther?

And for that show to be to me?

The BEST show on the network in ONLY its SECOND season?

INCREDIBLE!

I watch ALL the shows on the WB and its difficult to RANK honestly because to me LEGENDS is its OWN UNIQUE THING...

Flash is also very different in TONE.

Supergirl improved IMMENSELY out of NO WHERE!

Arrow will always hold a special place cause it was FIRST

And even though its NOT Superheroes?

Supernatural to me fits in this somehow someway.

That twist with Stanley at the end, I'm hearing he's supposed to be Stanley Dover, nobody else watched this tonight?

I knew something was up with that dude....He was getting a little too close to Oliver and plus,if those really wanted to hurt him, they would of did it much worst...

I will guaranteed you,he's the guy Oliver been looking for.

History
The Star City Slayer was a name coined by the press in relation to the actions of the elderly Stanley Dover. An amateur occultist, Dover hunted young boys and girls, savagely murdering them and using their blood as a means of baiting a demonic entity known as the Beast With No Name.

In the 1950s, Stanley Dover and his wife Marge lived in the suburbs where they enjoyed life as a cheerful, wholesome, church-going couple. The rising popularity of Satanism however, lured them away from the church and they began participating in various occult rituals. While Marge enjoyed them merely for the sex orgies, Stanley was captivated by the Satanic lust for power. The time eventually came when Marge became pregnant, and she no longer wished to be part of the cult following. Stanley was elated by the news of his wife's pregnancy, but upset that she wanted to abandon their new church. Dover wanted to use the infant as a human sacrifice for the Great Beast in a bid to gain immortality. Marge was repulsed by her husband's desires and soon left him.

For years, Stanley continued to research the occult seeking a means to summon the Great Beast. In 1968, he met occultist Jason Blood who told him of an ancient tome known as the Magdalene Grimoire. Reputedly, the Grimoire held the secret to life eternal. Dover learned that the book was last known to be in the possession of a notorious Magus named Roderick Burgess. He traced Burgess to his ancestral estate in Wych Cross, England, only to discover that the Magus had since died, and that his son, Alexander, now carried on the sorcerer's work. Alexander was not nearly the occult scholar that his father was, but he did have in his possession, the Magdalene Grimoire. During a party, Stanley snuck down into the cellar of the Burgess estate and stole the book.

He returned to the United States and purchased a home in Star City. The power of the Grimoire provided Stanley with enough material wealth that he was able to concentrate all of his time and energy towards trapping a creature of supreme power. The book led him to discover the existence of a monster known as the Beast With No Name. Due to it's seemingly un-demonic behavior, it was denied any semblance of identity. This was a creature that Dover felt that he could easily bully and manipulate; if only he could find the means to summon him.

In 1985, Stanley's daughter, Sheila, arrived on his doorstep with her husband, Mitch. Stanley had never even met his daughter before, but she was determined to reach out to the father she never knew and establish a connection. Dover wanted nothing to do with his daughter, and even less to do with her husband, but he needed to maintain a respectful mien, so he invited them into his home.

Sheila had recently given birth to a son, whose name was also Stanley. On the days when Sheila and Mitch were out of town, baby Stanley was left in the care of his grandfather. Dover would take the infant into the cellar with him while he conducted his various binding rituals. This practice continued for several years with neither Sheila nor Mitch ever suspecting what their grandfather was actually doing in the cellar.

As hard as he labored however, Dover could not summon the Beast With No Name. The binding spells appeared to have failed completely. What he didn't yet realize however, was that the rituals were slowly binding the essence of the Beast With No Name to baby Stanley. When Stanley was six-years old, he told his grandfather that he had a large pet dog named Spot that hid inside of his closet. Dover was amazed to discover that the boy had not been speaking of an imaginary friend, but rather, the Beast With No Name. The Beast and Stanley Dover made eye contact with one another, but moments later, the Monster disappeared and Dover lost track of him.

He knew that the Monster was still on Earth however, and he decided to use his grandson as the bait to lure him out of hiding. He kidnapped Stanley and imprisoned him inside of a glass binding container in the basement of his home. He then began kidnapping other youths, slaughtering them, and feeding their blood to young Stanley. The Star City press took to calling the kidnapper, the "Star City Slayer".

Stanley Dover's insatiable quest for power turned in a bold new direction when he met the amnesiac Oliver Queen, also known as the Green Arrow. Queen had only recently returned from the dead, but without the benefit of a human soul. Dover's occult senses detected this, and he realized that he could one day transfer his own spirit into Queen's hollowbody. From there, he intended on masquerading as Green Arrow, taking advantage of Oliver's contacts in the Justice League of America and using them to help hunt down the Monster.

By masquerading as an independently wealthy homosexual, Dover endeared himself to Queen's liberalism and the two became friends. He invited him into his home, and also took in the former teen prostitute, Mia Dearden. Before long, Dover revealed his true motives to Oliver and he captured him, tying him down, and preparing him for the ritual of transference. Before Dover could conduct the ritual however, the Monster made his presence known. While Ollie's friends rescued him from Dover's clutches, the Monster took revenge against Stanley Dover by eating him.

Since Stanley intended on living out his life in Oliver Queen's body, he had arranged his will so that left all of his earthly assets would be left to Oliver. Queen used his new-found inheritance to establish the Star City Youth Center.

I really want them to do Silencer right here, cause the comic is tight.

Arrow: John Barrowman Returning for Season Seven
John-Barrowman-in-Arrow.jpg

John Barrowman has confirmed that he will be returning to Arrow before the end of the series' seventh season. While it is presumed that he will be recreating his reoccurring role as Malcolm Merlyn, precise details have yet to come forth and The CW has yet to make an official announcement regarding Barrowman's return.

Beloved by fans for his work in both the Arrowverse and on Doctor Who and Torchwood, Barrowman first appeared in Arrow's first season as the primary villain, Malcolm Merlyn - a billionaire businessman-turned-assassin. Merlyn would continue to appear through Arrow's first five seasons, being revealed as the biological father of Thea Queen, while also acting as a twisted mentor to Oliver Queen, even as he manipulated Oliver into helping him take control of the League of Assassins. Barrowman would also appear in the second season of Legends of Tomorrow, as one of the villains making up The Legion of Doom. Merlyn's story seemingly came to an end in the finale of Arrow's fifth season, where Merlyn sacrificed himself to save Thea's life by taking her place on an armed land mine.

We Got This Covered reported on Barrowman's statement that he would be returning to Arrow. The actor delivered the news while hosting a panel on Torchwood at Supanova Expo - a comic book and gaming convention in Brisbane, Australia. While not giving any other details, Barrowman said that he might reveal more on his personal Instagram account, presumably after confirming with The CW what he can or can't reveal.

While fans will undoubtedly be happy to see Barrowman return to Arrow, there is some question as to how precisely it will happen. Amusingly, the problem has less to do with how Merlyn might cheat death than it does narrowing down what avenues might be employed for him to do so. It is worth noting that Merlyn's death is never visibly witnessed. We only hear the explosion of the landmine once all the other characters are out of visual range, and they never get a chance to look for his body. With this being the case, there is a chance that Merlyn never truly died, thus revisiting his tactic after Arrow's first season finale when he faked his own death.

ADVERTISING
Even if Merlyn did honestly die, death is hardly a permanent state in the Arrowverse, and even the relatively realistic Arrow has seen multiple characters resurrected by the power of the alchemical Lazarus Pit. A friendly speedster could also have pulled Merlyn out of harm's way before the explosion caught them both. The possibility also exists that Barrowman could appear as his doppelgänger from another Earth, similar to how Katie Cassidy is now playing Black Siren - the Laurel Lance of Earth 2 - as a series regular on Arrow. Finally, there's a chance that time-travel might be employed, as it was when Merlyn joined The Legion of Doom.

ADVERTISING
While the odds seem good that Barrowman will be playing Malcolm Merlyn in some capacity, even if it is ultimately only in a flashback sequence, there is also a chance that he might be playing an entirely new character. This is also not unheard of the Arrowverse, with Maisie Richardson-Sellers now appearing on Legends of Tomorrow as a shapeshifter named Charlie after spending two years playing Amaya "Vixen" Jiwe. However it happens, Barrowman's return to Arrow is sure to make an already lively season even more interesting.

Season 7 of Arrow airs on Mondays at 8pm EST on The CW.

Wonder if he'll ever reprise the role of Cpt.Jack again..would love to see his reaction to the new Doctor(i think him and Jodie Whittaker are friends in real life)

I predicted that sh*t EXACTLY...

I wish shows stop dropping major hints or forcing it...It was kinda obvious, it was Stanley when Oliver started looking for the demon two episodes ago.....Television loss the art of making anything mysterious..It's very rare that a TV show catch the audience by surprise anymore...The only only show that does it very well is Westworld.
