Arrow on CW

It seems like Warner Bros don't know what the hell they're doing, especially with the way they fucked up vibe with Arrow.Arrow could of been light years better than any show out right now, including Agents of Shield and Flash.

As,for Marvel,I don't think they're dedicated to another series on regular TV,but I won't be shocked,if they decided to make another one though

I don't know why they decided to lighten Arrow up with some humor and why they added so many people to team Arrow. Arrow was the shit when it was just the three of them. I have grown to like Speedy, but they have to something else with the odd Malcolm Merlyn am I a concerned father or am I crazy shit.

This is where Flash's time travel shit can be a blessing. They can reboot everything for one season and no one would care. We would all welcome it. Then if it sucks... You can always go back the next season. That's the cool thing about a comic book show, you can go balls to the wall out. It is the one fucking thing that DC has over Marvel... there shows are connected to the movie universe. They can do what ever the fuck they want to do.

The writers really think the tone of the show was the problem and yet ignore that the writing hasn't been good, since season 2.

Instead of trying to be like the Flash, they need to go back to it's roots, because having overpowered villains with magic don't fit the show at all

I hope,by some miracle the actress, who plays Huntress is available, because they need to do another "Birds of Prey" arc.We haven't had one, since the second season :(

I'm also curious is they going to bring Constantine back on the show...That show never had a chance on NBC. :smh:

Arrow Season 5 To Introduce New Vigilante

It sounds like the Arrow cast will be growing in Season 5, with a new vigilante taking to the streets of Star City. Whether the new character is a friend or a foe to Team Arrow remains to be seen. The TV Line report describes the character as a “cocksure/reckless ex-Marine turned vigilante.”

However, even with a new crime-fighter on the loose, Oliver will still be focused on his new position as mayor. Showrunner Wendy Mericle says "City Hall, that institution, is crucial to our series."

She also says that the show’s flashbacks will remain just as vital to the new season. "It's a very good possibility that we'll finally find out how he got that Bratva tattoo and how he learned to speak Russian," says Mericle. "When Oliver says, 'No one can know my secret' and he kills that guy in the pilot, we're going to get some insight into that."

Arrow is part of the CW’s still growing DC Comics superhero TV lineup, taking up the Wednesday at 8 p.m. timeslot. The Flash was the first spinoff to come out of the show, and characters from both Arrow and The Flash were used to create the time-travelling team featured in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Supergirl will join the the CW’s schedule next season, moving over from CBS for Season 2. Arrow and The Flash have crossed over in each season since The Flash premiered, with this latest crossover serving as a kind of backdoor pilot for Legends of Tomorrow. Next season’s crossover will be the biggest yet, bringing in characters from all four of the CW’s DC Comics shows.

Stephen Amell's Blunt Response To Arrow Musical Crossover Rumors

If there is one thing that TV and movie audiences lose their minds over it’s the possibility of crossovers. The introduction of shared universes and serialized storytelling allows for your favorite characters to interact and, in the case of superhero titles, battle alongside each other. This year proved to be super successful in regards to crossovers, with shows like Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flashall coming together- even across network lines. Now that Supergirl has moved over to the CW, we can expect to see the various DC properties interacting regularly, although fans have been speculating about one non-traditional form of crossover. Namely, that there will be a musical episode utilizing the bevy of talented singers that are in the Arrowverse.

Stephen Amell, who plays the titular Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, recently opened up to MTV news about the rumors of a musical crossover, saying:

No. No. I’m out! I’m the first one. I get to draw the line, and I draw the line at musical.

Well, this seems pretty cut and dry. Stephen Amell is not even considering the possibility of the DC heroes belting out some tunes as they save the day. Or, at least Green Arrow won’t be involved in that venture.

Rumors began circulating around the possibility of a musical episode once Supergirl was announced to be moving networks over to the CW.

Melissa Benoist, who plays Supergirl, will be the latest of a long list of talented singers who have become involved in super heroic CW TV shows. Both she and The Flash’s Grant Gustin have worked successfully in musical theater before making their TV debuts FOX’s musical comedy series Glee. Additionally, Supergirl co star Chyler Leigh, who plays Alex, also knows a thing or two about musical episodes. During her tenure on medical drama Grey’s Anatomy she filmed a musical event, in which she had her own song. Plus she did that bizarre musical number in Not Another Teen Movie.

Supergirl also features Jeremy Jordan who, in addition to being a Tony nominated Broadway actor, sang on film in the series Smash and the film The Last 5 Years. Other singers in the Arrowverse include Arrow’s John Barrowman, The Flash’s Jesse L. Martin and Andy Mientus, and Legends of Tomorrow’s Ciara Renee.

So overall, the CW’s respective TV comic book adaptations are chock full of musical talent. The problem with a musical episode is how it could possibly work tonally. Stephen Amell isn’t crazy to think that the idea is pretty out there, and that he’d perhaps be worried about jumping the shark by singing whilst kicking ass. Then again, musical episodes have worked in other dramas surprisingly well like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Grey’s Anatomy, in addition to comedies like Scrubs.

I dare them to make a musical and see how fast I stop watching all four shows :hmm:

Arrow Season 5 Vigilante Revealed As Wild Dog

arrow5wilddog-186171.jpg

After weeks of mystery the new vigilante in Arrow has been revealed as Wild Dog with Rick Gonzalez playing the role.

The character first appeared in Wild Dog #1 in 1987, making him one of the first new superheroes created following Crisis on Infinite Earths. Created by Road to Perdition writer Max Allan Collins, "his super power is guns."

Star athlete Jack Wheeler went to college on a football scholarship, but had to drop out and become a mechanic after an injury forced him off the team and he couldn't afford tuition. Before working as a mechanic, though, he enlisted for a tour of duty with the U.S. Marines, only to see most of his friends killed by a terrorist bomb. After returning home, he fell in love...but the woman he was in love with was gunned down in a seemingly-random shooting, later revealed to be a hit because her father was a reputed mobster. Wheeler snapped and became Wild Dog -- a vigilante beloved by the public for "cleaning up the streets" but wanted by the police for his brutality.

After his own series failed to make him a star, the character would appear in Action Comics Weekly before fading mostly into obscurity. His most recent appearances on the printed page were in an alternate-reality story in Booster Gold, in which Wild Dog was part of a team of revolutionaries led by Green Arrow and working against Maxwell Lord and his army of OMACs.

"You gotta go to [writers] Geoff [Johns] and Jeff [Katz] for that one," artist Dan Jurgens said when ComicBook.com's Russ Burlingame asked him why Wild Dog had been chosen to team with a group of DC A-listers in Booster Gold #8. "I kind of enjoyed it. Took me back to thoseAction Weekly days!"

During his Booster Gold run, Wild Dog was depicted as being very conservative, something that seems likely to play a role on Arrow since Oliver Queen is now the liberal mayor of Star City.

A group of men dressed in Wild Dog costumes appear on the cover of Green Arrow #1, out today, although the character does not actually appear in the issue.

"That's not coming right away but it's coming down the pipeline," Green Arrow writer Ben Percy said of Wild Dog. "That first cover is sort of previewing some of the obstacles that lay ahead in the first few Rebirth arcs. I won't say too much except that there was a lot of discussion at the DC offices about how we could channel some of what was going on in the news, particularly what was going on in Oregon at the Malheur Nature Reserve which was taken over by that militia."

All I know is that I'm calling straight bullshit... if the Season starts with Oliver still being the mayor after what happened on Flash. Seriously.. I'm calling straight bullshit on this.

"ARROW" WELCOMES "YOUNG JUSTICE'S" ARTEMIS TO STAR CITY

Madison McLaughlin's Evelyn Sharp will make her way back to "Arrow" for Season 5, but with a vigilante twist. Variety reports that McLaughlin will return to the show as "Young Justice's" Artemis.

McLaughlin appeared as Sharp in the Season 4 episode "Canary Cry," where she impersonated Black Canary shortly after Laurel's death; in the episode, she hoped to exact revenge on Damien and Ruvé Darhk for her parents' deaths. However, in Season 5, she'll appear in multiple episodes, starting with the second episode of the season -- and, this time around, she'll assume her own identity as the masked vigilante Artemis.

Starring Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards and David Ramsey, "Arrow" will return to The CWthis fall on Wednesdays at 8 pm EST.

It looks like Oliver will be mayor at the beginning of the season... :smh:

Man I just don't see how this is going to work if Flash is pulling a Flashpoint in its premiere. Man I'm about to just completely stop watching Arrow. I don't want to see a show with a Viglante Mayor. How is that going to be even remotely possible?

From what I've been reading,it look like the Flash actions won't affect the new season for Arrow

I've been reading the same thing and I hope to god that this isn't true. All credibility of this shared Universe would be lost.

I feel the same way,I don't understand, how you have a flashpoint and yet the other shows don't get affected by time.Makes no sense at all.

Hell, with Barry fucking with the past 4 times already,it should of affected the shows right this minute anyways.

Arrow: Madison McLaughlin to return as new archer

Team Arrow really seems to be filling out.

EW has confirmed that Madison McLaughlin has signed on to reprise her role as Evelyn Sharp, the troubled teen who attempted to kill the Darhks by impersonating the recently deceased Black Canary last season.

As first reported by Variety, Evelyn will now go under the name Artemis, the former DC Comics villain-turned-hero, who went on to become Green Arrow’s sidekick.

McLaughlin, who will appear in multiple season 5 episodes starting with episode 2, joins previously cast newcomers Rick Gonzales, who will play Wild Dog, and Josh Segarra, who will take up the mantle of the Vigilante.

ARROW: SEASON 5 CASTS THE WALKING DEAD ALUM CHAD L. COLEMAN

Arrow is adding a familiar face to the cast in Season 5. IGN can exclusively reveal that The Walking Dead alum Chad L. Coleman has been cast in the recurring role of Tobias Church.

Tobias Church is described as "an imposing gangster looking to unite the various criminal enterprises in Star City under his own singular command." The villainous character will first be seen in Season 5's premiere.

Chad L. Coleman as Tyreese on The Walking Dead

Coleman is best known for playing Tyreese on The Walking Dead and for portraying Dennis "Cutty" Wise on The Wire. He recently appeared on Syfy's The Expanse as Col. Frederick Lucius Johnson and History's Roots as Mingo.

Arrow: Season 4 focused on the conflict between Oliver Queen and Damien Darhk, and ended with Oliver and Team Arrow in very different situations than when it started. Make sure to read IGN's review of the season.

Arrow Season 5 Production Art Teases Black Canary Memorial

If there's one thing that every superhero gets when they die (besides an eventual resurrection), it's a monument.

The Justice League at one point had their own graveyard with a statuary. Superman had a famous statue, complete with an eternal flame, that remained in place until long after the Man of Steel was back from the dead.

And now, Arrow's Black Canary will apparently join those ranks, with Laurel Lance's likeness apparently being made into a memorial that will stand in Star City.

Showrunner Marc Guggenheim shared a piece of production art that shows the monument -- and while it indicates there were a number of possible designs, we're guessing this is likely the one that was chosen, since it's the one that got shared:

I guess it's handy when your ex-boyfriend/partner-in-crimefighting is the mayor now.

In the pre-Flashpoint DC Universe, Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) and Dinah Lance (Black Canary) were one of DC Comics's designated couples. The pair eventually married and headlined a comic together. The New 52 reboot in 2011 wrote them apart, as it separated so many long-established relationships in the DC Universe, but DC Universe: Rebirth and its spinoffs undid all that, and while they're not married with a long history, Oliver and Dinah are both working and sleeping together in the current Green Arrow series.

In the TV series, they were a couple before Oliver was stranded on the island, and flirted briefly with the idea of reunion before Oliver dated Laurel's sister Sara -- the original Canary and the inspiration for Laurel to take on crimefighting. Once Oliver moved on to Felicity Smoak, Laurel's role was less to be a part of Oliver's personal life and more to be a part of Team Arrow, until her death at the hands of Damien Darhk late in Season Four.

Laurel was outed as the Black Canary during her funeral, as part of a storyline that also saw Madison McLaughlin joins the cast. While she was dressed as Black Canary in that first appearance, it was revealed yesterday that McLaughlin will come back for Season Five as Artemis.

As others have said, they seriously need to go back to their roots. This shit has taken a nose dive with no signs of going back up.

They have a great opportunity to do something different with the Flashpoint arc. However, it seems they want to play it safe with the same shitty writing. :smh:

$5 dollars says there is a flashback scene to Oliver being on the island learning how to cope with being a Mayor some how.

http://wegotthiscovered.com/news/ma...uing-black-canary-concept-art-arrow-season-5/

Season four of Arrow upset a lot of fans when the decision was made to kill off Katie Cassidy’s Black Canary, and while the actress made a brief return as her Earth-2 doppelganger in The Flash, it appears as if her tenure as a Star City vigilante is officially over. After all, her death was pretty definitive, and several people involved with the series have ruled out a resurrection.

However, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim has now taken to social media to reveal a new piece of concept art for season five which seemingly reveals a memorial which will be created to honour the Black Canary’s memory following her death.

Will it be erected in the city or in the Arrow Cave? That remains to be seen, but with Team Arrow disbanding in the finale, it wouldn’t be too surprising if Oliver Queen is looking for a way to honour happier days. He’ll also be the mayor when we see him next, so chances are that he could pull some strings and unveil this somewhere in Star City.

Either way, season five of Arrow will have its work cut out for it when it returns to The CW later this year. A couple of disappointing villains, unbearable flashbacks and some odd creative decisions have soured many fans on the series, and whether or not this Black Canary monument will be enough to satisfy some of them remains to be seen.

I'm probably going to give up on Arrow within the first 3 episodes of season 5. Gonna check the Arrow Reddit page for some laughs.

Last week during a Facebook Live , Stephen Amell was asked to describe how he felt about the Arrow Season 5 premiere episode in one word. He chose “Legacy.” As it turns out, this was no coincidence. Showrunner Marc Guggenheim revealed today that “Legacy” is actually the title of the premiere episode, which strongly hints Oliver will struggle emotionally after the loss of Laurel Lance, one of his most trusted allies since Season 1. We may also find out what favor Black Canary asked of Oliver just before she took her last breath.

Guggenheim also posted a photo of a memorial statue for Black Canary, which will presumably be built as a symbol to remind Arrow not to return to his old ways of vigilantism in the wake of losing his ex (and current) girlfriend in a matter of days.

“The idea of Black Canary and what it means and what it embodies in Star City is something we are going to examine this year,” Amell said as he walked on a treadmill while talking to fans.

Just because Laurel Lance is dead doesn’t mean Oliver, or the rest of the Arrowverse, won’t catch wind of her sassy doppleganger, Black Siren. In fact, actress Katie Cassidy has her fingers crossed for a role next to her sister, Sara Lance, on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow .

“I mean emotionally it would be more difficult for [Sara] to see her sister like that. Because Laurel of Earth-1 doesn't really have a bad bone in her body. I think she means well and has a good heart. So to see this side of her, it's not really Laurel. It's the antithesis. I think it would be awesome and amazing and such a cool dynamic. Just create more story for Legends . It would be great,” Cassidy told CinemaBlend.

black-canary-arrow-2.jpg

Oliver also has his own legacy to worry about, now that he’ll be in the public eye as Mayor of Star City. Laurel Lance was set for a new job as Star City’s District Attorney before she was killed by Damien Darhk. If she had lived, she would have proved a formidable ally standing next to Oliver as D.A. However, now that she’s gone, Arrow will have to use everything Laurel has taught him about fighting above the law to succeed in his new position.

Arrow Season 5 kicks off production today, July 5, and returns to The CW on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.

I honestly never watched Arrow, but I followed the Flash and I watched Legends of Tomorrow. So I binged all 4 seasons of Arrow over the last couple weeks. It was definitely better than I was thinking, but I can also see how people didnt like season 4. It will be interesting to see how everything works together after the Flashpoint shit...or if that will even play a part.

I just watched the comic con season 3 trailer for the Flash. Everything has been reset. Cisco is some type of millionaire. I'm probably going to give up on Arrow within the first 5 episodes. To not use the gift of resetting your story and correct mistakes is blasphemous.

I don't understand, how you have Flash go back and reset the world 3 or 4 times without it affecting the other shows...makes no sense at all
